Wiley"

"And still waiting to hear one lie Bush told about Iraq."

You can go to afterdowningstreet.org for a host of them.
As about 60% of the public correctly believes, the percentage
growing from the low 40s steadily since the release of the
Kay Report.

Whether Bush himself convinced himself to believe Saddam
had WMDs is irrelevant. He cherrypicked a wide array of
contrasting intelligence and presented it to the people as
indicting Hussein. He suppressed intelligence which exonerated
Hussein and chose to believe/decided to use intelligence
provided by those he was warned were unrealible.

This is not to deny certain agents submitted what they knew to be
dubious, buckling under pressure from Cheney and
others, as agent Ray McGovern (check his many columns)
has said.

Glen Greenwald doesn't know what he's talking about & we all know about K. Plenty in congress have the clearances and know what's going on, and what a key tool it is, as well as within the constitution. What's not constitutoinal, frankly absurd, is having the courts as oversight to the military (and the commander in chief) in waging war.
And still waiting to hear one lie Bush told about Iraq.

Here's a definition EVERYONE should remember:

Lying. The act that is taking place if you see the lips moving on a Democrat.

Origin of this definition: Bill Clinton, during his presidency.

From Captain's Quarters...

After a delay of more than a year, a government board appointed to guard Americans' privacy and civil liberties during the war on terror has been told the inner workings of the government's electronic eavesdropping program.
Members say they were impressed by the protections. ...

Board members said that they were impressed by the safeguards the government has built into the NSA's monitoring of phone calls and computer transmissions, and that they wished the administration could tell the public more about them to ease distrust.

"If the American public, especially civil libertarians like myself, could be more informed about how careful the government is to protect our privacy while still protecting us from attacks, we'd be more reassured," said Lanny Davis , a former Clinton White House lawyer who is the board's lone liberal Democrat.

Just a bit of information for Ken and his friends on the left.. please remember that whatever powers are given to the President in the constitution cannot be taken away by Congress or the Judiciary.

Retort to Strata's defense of the police state above:

"One more time: the principal problem with the President's warrantless eavesdropping is not that he is abusing the secret eavesdropping powers he seized (that is something we do not yet know, because the Congress has not yet investigated that question). Instead, the "problem" is that the President is engaging in the very conduct which the American people, through their Congress almost 30 years ago, made it a felony to engage in, punishable by up to five years in prison -- that is, eavesdropping on Americans without judicial oversight."

              Kudos to Glenn Greenwald.

Strata

There is a big difference from being confused (by the Bush
Administration's years-long lying about the subject)
as Pelosi was, and being bold liars. "See the evil" AJ?

"And that Iraq Survey Group proposals? I am not even going to link to an article. If they propose withdrawal they need to guarantee such an act will not embolden Al Qaeda and give them the resource and skilled work force and the base of operations they need to begin their takeover of the regions of their desired modern Caliphate."

What chutzpah from a guy whose hero brought al Qaeda to Iraq!
Did you ask for any guarantees from Bush before the war
his invasion wouldn't do this?
