Spying On Di – OK, On Al Qaeda – No
Democrats have stepped into it big time. We need to make sure the NSA’s program of monitoring known terrorists overseas and passing any leads on possible terrorists in the US be continued. And now the Democrats are going to have to explain why it was OK to monitor Princess Di, but it is not important to investigate who Osama Bin Laden is talking to in the US. Well at least Clinton and his cronies can pat themselves on the back now. While they couldn’t find or stop Bin Laden, they were able to find Princess Di. Congrats to the Clinton administration! Job well done.
Boy, Barbara, you said a mouthful in one sentence. Kinda makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Democrats are successful at making their political enemies look bad even when they’re not, and Republicans can’t succeed in making their political enemies look bad even when they are. I’m rapidly becoming a political agnostic. I’m just glad I live out in the heart of fly-over country. At least I’ll be one of the last blown to bits.
Since when did the Clintons ever explain anything?
No kidding. AND when asked even the slightest semi-tough question they throw temper tantrums and accuse everything on a vast right wing conspiracy hit job.
In fact, whoever runs against Hillary should use this in every campaign ad — Why would you vote for someone who will NEVER give a straight answer and attacks the inquisitor?
While the internet & Fox help, some of the points made here clearly show how the biased, lefty MSM still have an impact. And when election races are close, the impact can be huge.
Yeah, the Repubs are/were lousy playing hardball (I hate that guy) politics compared to the Dems. But, the Dems have the media to hype their agenda, lies & smears. If the media gave fair treatment to Jefferson & the ethically-challenged guy in WV do you think they would have been re-elected? If Foley was fairly reported as a nothing scandal, how many of the close races might have turned the other way? the WaPo smear campaign against Allen, … and many others. So, don’t expect the MSM to report on the hypocricy at play here.
It’s going to be a difficult 2 years — Pelosi, Rockefeller, Leahy, Conyers, … good grief.
When you consider all forms of public influence the reps have always been on the short end of the stick. It is quite frankly amazing that we do as well as we do with all the handicaps.
Look at all the right of center blogs and add up their daily unique visits and Kos alone kicks their butt.
Conservative talk radio may seem good, but too many times I wanted to throw the radio out the door because they fell for the 122nd time of spending 8 or 10 days dissecting why the last left of center lie was just that rather than promoting issues of our concern.
Spending the time to show it was BS gave rise to the overused credibility trap of the left. Few ever got how often it was used as a ploy to waste air time because the right would like a dog rising to the bait defend themselves and justify it wasting time to do the defense only to be hit again when the dust settled.
It proved to be such a crude but effective counter weapon by the left that they continued to bring the club to bear.

Nancy Pelosi is in the lead of a very strange parade.
Where she seems to be heading is to the Californiailising of America.
She seems to believe they have found the nirvana and we all should embrace it, just on her say so.
We should accept the fact that good manners, honesty , personal integrity, ladies underwear, and moral integrity are just too much baggage to carry forward into the new and improved America she envisions.
Clear cutting 5000 acres of ground gets more attention that prudent forest management of harvesting trees from 30,000 acres as a renewable resource. But the temporary spin image does its thing to move the mantra on.
Byron York and Mickey Kaus are diggig into this story, should check them out.
If the Republicans had charged these people with the crimes they committed so what? The media would be on their necks and that was what they were afraid of. What they never got was that the media would be on their necks regardless. They should have done what needed to be done and the hell with the media. But what really got me was Hastert claiming the house members’ offices were sacrosanct (William Jefferson) and shouldn’t be searched even with a FISA search warrant. I thought at the time he was crazy and lost an opportunity to call the democrat party what it is (crooked). It would have been politics but the right thing to do regardless.
Good points, & on Hastert I agree completely.
