US Attacking Al Qaeda, While Zawahiri Attacks Democracy

Published by at 3:23 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

The news out today that Al Qaeda’s number two is upset at signs of democracy in Palestine is interesting. It reinforces the view that it is not Bush that caused Al Qaeda to attack the US (since 1991) but freedom. Zawahiri also was quite clear in reminding Democrats and spineless Reps that if they want to surrender Iraq they must talk to Al Qaeda and not these regional puppet regimes. Too funny. Maybe Sen Nelson should go and meet with Zawahiri, and complete is transformation into the modern Neville Chamberlain. He can tell Zawahiri we admit that we over reacted to 9-11 and that all we want is for his people to run the ME in a way that doesn’t make it hard on Congress to face the voters every two years. And while Democrats and other surrender-at-all-costs types are working to lose in the ME, the effort continues apace to destroy Al Qaeda one terrorist at a time – as we just captured the Al Qaeda leader in Mosul. So which path does America prefer: surrender or success? Well only the truly clueless would get the answer to that one wrong.

Very good post, what in the hell are all the naysayers and gloom merchants gonna do if Peace breaks out in the ME as a result of Pres Bush’s policies. We wouldn’t have to wonder long, they would probably all hang themselves.

But a lot of news coming out of the ME is sure sounding better.

There is also word of a change in the political landscape in Baghdad that might allow the factional militias to be dealt with.

    Today’s sad news:

Washington – US Army General John Abizaid, the top commander for American military operations in the Middle East, will leave his post early next year, a spokesman said.

Abizaid, who became chief of US Central Command in July 2003, just months after US troops invaded Iraq, has served at the post longer than any of his predecessors, agreeing earlier this year to a request by then defence secretary Donald Rumsfeld to remain on the job.

“In the spring of 2006, secretary Rumsfeld asked General Abizaid to remain as the commander of US Central Command until early in 2007,” the spokesman said. “He does not intend to extend beyond that period.”

General Abizaid is probably the best man we had for that position. A native Arabic speaker and someone familiar with the culture is going to be hard to find a replacement for.

Also, notice Zawahiri’s other statements in his tape:

“I urge the whole Muslim nation to support this fledgling state as it is, God willing, the gateway for the liberation of Palestine and the revival of the Islamic caliphate.” “I also urge all my mujahideen brothers in Iraq to join this blessed convoy to save the Iraq caliphate from the shackles of the crusaders and their agents, the traitors who have sold their faith”, and in discussing Palestine, stating that it is “the duty of every Muslim” to recover Muslim land.”

Notice here he is talking about saving “the Caliphate” . Well, in order to have a Caliphate, one must have a Caliph. I wonder who has been appointed Caliph of this Caliphate. The Caliph being somewhat like a king or supreme leader who rules according to Sharia.

    Also note:

“How is it possible that jihad against the Jews in Lebanon is in line with Islam but jihad against Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan is taboo”?

Here is he criticizing anyone who would oppose jihad against the US.

So this has nothing at all to do with any policies of the US, it is about the establishment of a Caliphate and they are prepared to fight us for generations. Are we prepared to fight them for generations?

We must somehow delegitimize the concept of conversion by force or we are going to be dealing with these lunatics for a very long time.

    Strata

More amoral , muddled confusion from you.

Yes, we overreacted to 9/11 and brought al Qaeda to Iraq and stengthened its membership worldwide and retreated in Afghanistan
where both al Qaeda and the Taliban are on the rebound. Zawahiri thanks you and your dear leader. Worse of all, we destroyed a country, Iraq, which had nothing to do with 9/11.

    Hence my use of “amoral.”

Thankfully, your version of “success” is beyond the realm of America to impose on the Middle East.

    For Enforcement

More garrulous twaddle from a nitwit. You wouldn’t find one Arab leader, nor Israeli for that matter , who would characterize the Middle East as as stable today than on 9/10/2001. In fact, they all would tell you it is many times more unstable. In fact they have in the past few weeks in the worldwide media. That you would even
mention the possibility of “peace breaking out” puts your foolishness on display .

Lebanon witnesses Hezbollah’s power at its apex — it defeats Israel and has rearmed completely since then. Hamas and Fatah engage in combat, Iraq is wracked with interminable bloody anarchy
which Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey and Iran fear could spill over their borders. The American military Bush finally concedes is stretched to the breaking point Murtha depicted long ago and was called a liar by some on this site for doing so. I guess George will lower the requirements even more to allow Mexicans, felons , drug users and those without a high school diploma in? Or will he move to a societal-splitting draft? You’re losing, world policemen and drastic means will be needed to turn the tide–means involving domestic blowback!

  5. Gotta Know says:

    Ken,

For the record: You’re an idiot.

  6. For Enforcement says:

    Ken, quoting you:

“You wouldn’t find one Arab leader, nor Israeli for that matter , who would characterize the Middle East as as stable today ”

You do want to retract that ignorant statement don’t you?

I’m not responsible for their ignorance. Besides you are the one that keeps aluding to all these polls that people are running around doing. You wouldn’t have us believe that they are dodging bullets while conducting the polls would you?

And you yourself said that 60% of the professionals in the country are happy to stay there because of the chance for a brighter future than the ones who cut and run.

Or, are you saying that the 40% that voted with their feet are more representative than the 60% that remained? In America, unlike France, 60% usually wins in an election.

So you think Al Qaeda is gonna win? Why don’t you go ahead and join them if you are so convinced they are gonna be the winning side. Myself, I’m gonna stay with the country that has freed many more millions of people than any other country ever has.

Have you ever been right on anything?

  7. crosspatch says:

    Gotta Know,

Nah, Ken is a button pusher. He enjoys pushing emotional buttons by making statements but if you look closely, he provides nothing with which to back them statements up.

For example, he claims in an above post that “al Qaida and the Taliban are on the rebound” but offers nothing to back that statement up. In other words, he says things that he thinks will provoke an emotional response but isn’t interested in any kind of logical debate nor in bringing anything to the discussion in the form of information. He is only interested in generating emotional responses from people and becoming the topic of discussion himself. The way to defuse that narcissistic behavior is to ask for more information. Ask that he provide some basis for reaching the conclusion that he has.

  8. crosspatch says:

he provides nothing with which to back them statements up

    OOps, should have been:

he provides nothing with which to back them up.

Thats what I get for typing after having worked all night.

  9. For Enforcement says:

Crosspatch, you have Ken pegged perfectly.
I’ve been challenging him for two weeks on two statements he made and all he does is link to some liberal or progressive rag with some article that bears no resemblance to the subject at hand. Also you will observe that if you really push him he starts to call names. The true measure of a small mind. His tactic is to attack the messenger, just as his post above, all he did was attack AJ, he didn’t really say anything arguable about the post itself.
His two statements that I’ve challenged him on, but don’t expect to see an answer on, is: He said the British Empire crumbled under Churchill, to date he hasn’t named just one country that left the empire during Churchill’s terms. The other, he said Congress “MUST” declare war. All I asked for was a cut and paste from the Constitution of the sentence with the word “MUST” in it.
The Constitution does not, in fact, ever ‘require’ that war be declared.

You won’t see him answer either of those two questions.

  10. Terrye says:

I don’t think Ken is firing on all cylanders myself.

    Nice post Aj.

  11. Gotta Know says:

    Crosspatch,

I read most of your Litvinenko posts, we’re soul mates.

Keep up the good work, keep up the good fight.

    And happy holidays.

  12. Gotta Know says:

BTW Ken, allow me to amend my earlier definition:

    You’re a TREASONOUS idiot.

    Whew, I feel better already.

  13. Ken says:

    Terrye
FE is a stickler for correct English and you should correct
cylinder. Even though FE himself misspells words while lecturing others on the language.

  14. Ken says:

    For Enforcement

“attacking the messenger”-like using, very ineffectually of course,
    Frenchie ad infinitum?

  15. Ken says:

FE —“liberal or progressive rag”….like amconmag.com?

  16. Ken says:

    For Enforcement

I did not attack AJ here, only characterized his post, though I did attack you.

I called you a nitwit. As anyone who pretends to political wisdom is who doesn’t recognize that America DID overreact (and act unwisely)to 9/11 three and a half years into an unexpected quagmire
based on lies about WMDs. And 80% of the people agree, although
    70% originally supported the overreaction.

  17. Ken says:

For Enforcemnet’s senility causes him to miss the fact that if America lost 40% of our professional class, we’d be in plenty trouble.

  18. Ken says:

    Crosspatch

I shouldn’t have to link to regular MSM on-scene reports out of Afghanistan describing a resurgent Taliban every time I mention the fact…not at least if AJ would do some housecleaning.

  19. For Enforcement says:

Ken, you are the one that said you were French, you’ve said it more than once. In fact, as I recall you said you were French Muslim.

“like amconmag.com?” Only seen you link to that one time and it was a Buchanan article. Everyone knows he is off the deep end and has resorted to quoting Libs, that’s what that article was you linked to. A reprint from a lib rag.
Sometimes I make typos, never do I misspell anything.
And yes, I saw where Terrye made a typo on cylinders, but she’s usually correct and didn’t need any help, as you usually require.

Now hurry up and attack me again.

  20. Ken says:

As far as Congress not having to declare war to risk your son’ and daughters’ lives in warlike conditions, by all means FE, send yours to the undeclared slaughters, none of which excepting Grenada, have been won.
