Iranians Caught Fighting In Iraq

Published by at 10:30 am under All General Discussions,Iran,Iraq

For the naive, like James Baker and the Iraq Surrender Group [H/T Rush Limbaugh], the concept of negotiating with Iran to achieve a political solution in Iraq has just become a political disaster. What Democrat will demand we negotiate with the enemy now that the US has caught Iranians striving to kill Americans in Iraq? What totally idiotic Democrat will call for America to talk to the very people who are out to kill us? Sadly most of them will continue their suicidal plans, with only a few like Joe Lieberman who will know better than to treat the killers of our people as some magical allies in peace. The Chamberlain force runs strong on the left, so they will not see the danger of their ways.

Okay, here’s the scoop from CENTCOM on Iranians … there have been 5 captured so far:

    By Gerry J. Gilmore
    American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, Dec. 27, 2006 – Several Iranian nationals were detained in recent coalition raids conducted in Iraq’s capital city, a senior U.S. military officer said in Baghdad today.

Two Iranians were among eight other suspects detained during a coalition raid at a Baghdad site Dec. 21, Army Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell IV, Multinational Force Iraq spokesman, told reporters.

The early-morning operation was based on intelligence information, Caldwell said, noting documents, maps, photographs, and videos were also confiscated.

“Debriefings of these detainees and investigation of the seized materials have yielded intelligence that link perhaps some of them to some illegal activities that have occurred,” Caldwell said. The investigation is still ongoing, he said.

The 10 detainees are still in the custody of Multinational Force Iraq, Caldwell said, noting U.S. officials remain in contact with the Iraqi government regarding the matter.

In another operation, three Iranian nationals and one Iraqi were detained during a vehicle search by coalition forces that took place in the early evening in Baghdad Dec. 20, Caldwell said.

The four detainees have since been transferred to the custody of the Iraqi government, Caldwell said.

“We have been opposed to Israeli settlements before and will probably continue to be opposed to any new ones. ” Cross-up
    confidently asserts..

Give it a rest, Crosspatch. The Arab/Moslem world knows the
US will not invade Israel and enforce its supposed objection, nor
remove Israel from the West Bank as it removed Saddam from
Kuwait , both being ordered by UN edict. The Arab/Moslem
world thence will continue to fight US intervention in the Mideast, as it currently has it quagmired in Iraq.

  3. crosspatch says:

I knew this wouldn’t take long

The United States has criticised Israel’s decision to approve the construction of a new Jewish settlement in the West Bank.

In a rare rebuke of its close ally, the State Department said such a construction would violate the peace plan known as the roadmap.

Invade? HA! I will tell you what is more likely to happen. If the Palestinians keep throwing rockets at Israel in spite of good faith efforts such as transferring money and not firing back, it probably wont be long before Israel simply decides to end the entire problem and takes the entire Gaza strip lock stock and barrel forever. No more Palestinian Authority, no more Palestinian State, no more problem.

The Palestinians are going to sow the seeds of their own demise if they don’t stop acting like political adolescents and grow up.

  4. Ken says:

Gee Strata, that was a quick “we’re really fair to the Palestinians
and the Arab world will notice it eventually” turn to “go get,
Israeli fascists” ooops, only them Islamos can be fascists, my bad,
on the part of Crosspatch wasn’t it?!

  5. Ken says:

Like I said, CP, the Arab world has kept a list of US wrist-slapping
of Israel, punishment never carried out–last good example, israel illegally used US weaponry to cloister bomb Lebanese a few months ago, which necessitated hard punishment. Never came. Swept under the rug.

Like the Israel attack on the USS Liberty, purposely killing dozens of US servicemen.

  6. crosspatch says:

Ken, what does the attack on the Liberty have to do with the subject? Nothing. An attempt to reach outside the scope of the discussion to drag something else into it in order to create controversy.

You claim “the Arab world has kept a list of US wrist-slapping”. Tell me, have you seen this list? Can you point me to a copy of it? Which Arabs are keeping it?

You claim Israel “illegally” used cluster bombs. Show me where those weapons are illegal? They aren’t. Again, you are making things up.

Yet another pointless posting to add onto a pile of other pointless postings.

Looks like the Islamic Courts Union in Somalia has resigned and clans withdrawn their support and equipment. Mogadishu is expected to be turned over to the interim government tomorrow.

    The Islamic Courts has dissolved.

Another setback for Iran, by the way.

This report shows Crosspatch’s assumption that Arabs/Moslems
aren’t aware of Israel’s illegal and/or immoral use of weaponry
in their barbarous attack on Lebanon is ill-founded.

more–but like the BBC Report says, the US official says no “serious repercussions” will result, which the Arab world adds to the list
    Crosspatch denies exists….
