New Year Terror Attacks

Published by at 1:40 pm under All General Discussions

We seemed to have made it through another New Year with few attacks. But there was definitely one in Bangkok, Thailand. Let’s just say I am wondering why someone would go through all the trouble to detinate a bunch of small yield bombs asa supposed terror attack. The other questionable incident is the loss of an Indonesian passenger airline as it was cruising at 35,000 feet.

An Indonesian passenger plane carrying 102 people disappeared in stormy weather today, and rescue teams were sent to search an area where military aviation officials feared the Boeing 737-400 aircraft may have crashed.

Air traffic controllers lost contact with flight KI-574 while it was flying at 35,000 feet from Indonesia’s main island of Java to Sulawesi. It was still missing more than eight hours after its scheduled arrival.

More here at the BBC. Stormy weather doesn’t typically reach 35,000 feet. Indonesia was one of those locations that was implicated in a possible terrorist attack. I would not be surprised if this was another terrorist attack.

Update: A later report seems to claim the plane was lost at an altitude of 1,000 meters, which is only 3,000 ft and way too low for a plane that is supposedly halfway through their flight plan. The 35,000 ft altitude is definitely more in line with the midway point of the flight. The mystery deepens on this incident.

I’m sure that was supposed to be 10,000 meters

In that part of the world bad weather exist ways above 35000 feet. It’s a function of the height of the troposphere.

Ohhh, For Enforcement is on-line! Why didn’t he correct “detinate?” You guys love those phatom straw men even when they are as in Thailand ,not concerned
in the least with America. Unless you define “America”
as “world policeman”, which means you are the problem, not al Qaeda.
