Published by at 7:48 pm under All General Discussions

Think the nutroots, liberal left will let the Dems quietly ignore the Iraq war and Bush impeachment? Think again! Fox has more, and they have a video [H/T Drudge]

This is a typical Fenton Communications coached tactic. Create an incident and then hijack the moment to get your message out. Remember when Larry Johnson got his 24 hours of fame for heckling Rumsfeld at a press conference? Same thing. Disrupt the thing, become the center of attention, get the message across.

The media should have shut off the cameras and left. They are being played like a fiddle.

How long before the Democrats begin the impeachment hearings? I’m thinking they start in March with Cheney and April for Bush.

Wow-President Pelosi…Then the utopia planning can begin.

I laughed so hard I was sick! Rahm Emmanuel, Steny Hoyer, and the other useless appendages of the Democrat-controlled House were trying to give a press conference at the Capitol. Enter Cindy Sheehan and her AW mob chanting and disturbing poor Rahm, who was trying to speak. In the very first test of wills (?) in this Democrat-controlled House, Emmanuel and his buddies ran like girls from CINDY SHEEHAN!!! So much for tough on terror if they can’t even stand up to motor mouth Sheehan. Osama LOOK OUT!! They didn’t come out from underneath their Congressional desks until the Capitol Police/HALL MONITORS told them it was safe.

It WAS fun seeing them swirm, I must admit. Hahahahahaha!! This is going to be a fun 100 hours!

Yeah, Carol, it is going to be like the old days all over again. By the time they get done, everyone will hate the Democrats and everyone will remember why the Republicans were voted into power in the first place.

    Crosspatch,

That might happen sooner then we think. Things are stacked against democrats economically as they plan to raise taxes. Also Hillary almost guarantee strong backlash…

Actually, I believe the purpose for that whole circus was to set the political scene for Pelosi to go back on her campaign rhetoric of bipartisan cooperation. Rather than breaking a campaign promise, she is now “listening to the people”.

When is this woman going away? She has had multiple 15 minutes of fame. I am pure sick of her.

  8. likbez says:

    Barbara,

She is not. We should not underestimate Pelosi: she is a very skilled political operative, probably the best in Democratic Party now.
Her “The emperor has no clothes” speech in 2004 was a very shrewd political move that brought a lot of independents into the fold:

“I believe that the president’s leadership in the actions taken in Iraq demonstrate an incompetence in terms of knowledge, judgment and experience in making the decisions that would have been necessary to truly accomplish the mission without the deaths to our troops and the cost to our taxpayers.”

Actually I was talking about Sheehan but I would like Pelosi to go away also.

Boys and Girls, this is beginning to look like a set up! Rahm Emanuel was on the radio this morning supporting Sheehan, Conyers was giving her hugs yesterday before all this happened, and Nancy Pelosi was holding a private audience with her the day before the “mike coupe” at the capitol. I smell a rat! A BIG RAT!!

I fully expect that in one of the new congresses “show trials” Ms. Sheehan will show up to testify. The fix is in!

Was this a publicity stunt “on purpose?” Or one that went out of control?

It never did the GOP much good that there was a vocal minor choir singing RINO at every opportunity. And, counting GOP kiesters in the senate as if all of them were rabid Christian conservatives.

All that used to “temper” that news was the sex lives of the senators that used to splash across the front pages. Showing you, that you didn’t have to be a democrat, to “take advantage of all the broads” that came into your office to “test out” your couch.

But this is the INTRODUCTORY PHASE of pelosi’s run. Since it’s not typical for parades to last all that long. Even the gay ones. Even the Mardi Gra. At some point reality will set in. And, then we can take bets if she FALLS IN FIRST. Or somehow loses a heel as she’s trotting down the glossy floors of the capital, and breaks a hip.

Who knows what the FATES have in store?

But a successful run for this turkey? Even by Broadway’s loosening standards, to make pelosi into a “news headline” you need something as outlandish as Sheehan showing up.

So? How did Sheehan get the pass?

And, do you really think that Rahm Emanuel is all that delighted? Was he “as” delighted when Monica appeared?

Some of those images, I gotta tell ya. Have a power over the “small screen” that others do not have; since they fade away.

Good stories, on the other hand, don’t make these mistakes in the beginning.

Barring a simultaneous disaster taking out the Pres. and Vice Pres. at the same time, Pelosi has about as much chance of becoming President as the proverbal snowball in you know where. Remember Agnew was drummed out of office first and Nixon appointed Jerry Ford to replace him. When the left wing nut cases in congress and the press , who never forgave Nixon for on upping them with his announcement that he was going to China, leaving the news media’s panel of rebuttal experts sitting there speechless with their mouiths open, with the help of like minded pseudo news men like Bob Woodard, finally “got” Nixon, Ford became President.
For the record. Remember when Nixon said the reason he didnt’ destroy the tapes was because he knew they woudl prove he was innocent. But the Dems in Congress supoeneaed them and released only the tapes that made Nioxon look bad. It took Nixon’s family over 25 years fighting thru the courts to regain custody of the tapes which were given tot he Nixon library, by which time Nixon had already been labeled forever as the “crookedest Pres. ever. ” and nobody cared what was on the tapes. One person who listened tot he tapes reported that they did indeed exhonerate Nixon and the Dems deliberately concealed the tapes that vindicated him and held them incomunicado until the courts finally orde3red them to return them to Nixon’s family. Just another little dirty trick that slipped under the radar.

Reminds me of a little paragraph hidden away on the back pages of our newspaper reporting that the official report of what really happened at the Little Big Horn, which had been sealed for 75 years, indicated that Custer’s army had thousands of camp folowers tagging along and that the Indians surprised them and killed them in their beds after they had spent the previous night drinking and carousing with loose women. That didn’t tarnish Custer’s reputation as being a real old West Hero any more than the vindication tapes cleared Nixon’s reputation.

And that’s the way it is. You can’t even believe what you read anywhere any more.

    Momdear,
“And that’s the way it is.” – Sounds like Chronkite. (Chuckle)

Good points. We just have to be selective of our sources and put away some of our childlike faith in compromised “information.”
