Clinton Blunders Badly
Hillary Clinton blundered badly today, and the BDS obsessed press blindly announced to the world the blunder, in an naive expectation that Clinton was ‘speaking truth to power’ no doubt.
HILLARY CLINTON, at the beginning of her campaign for the presidency, has called on George Bush to get US forces out of Iraq by the time he leaves the White House.
Senator Clinton said it was the “height of irresponsibility” for the US President to say Iraq would remain a major issue for the next president, and she demanded that he “extricate our country” from Iraq before he left office in January 2009.
This looks and smells of cowardice. A woman has enough trouble convincing voters she has the backbone to face our problems without going spineless and demanding George Bush make life easier for her before she will step up. Condi Rice would not have made such a blunder. She knows the stakes involved, the choice of winning in Iraq now or having to do it later as part of a World War eminating from the Middle East (if we lose Iraq). And Clinton’s hands are as dirty in this as anyone’s since she voted for the Iraq war. Her claim that 20-20 hindsight would have changed her views is stupid. Who wouldn’t think differently with hindsight? Bush would have. But what this tells us is she is not only afraid of inheriting problems, she is easily cowed. Hindsight is wonderful, but it is not an excuse to turn our backs on those we led into this ‘adventure’ and run for the hills. When you go in you go in to complete the mission – nothing less.
So Hillary is afraid of the bug chair and wants Bush to make it all fluffy and comfortable for her before she would ascend to lead us Pathetic.
in the face of failure, what then?
Glory, I suspect Soothsayer, like many on the Left, just hasn’t thought that far ahead. So many opponents of the Iraq war are stuck in a Vietnam time warp that they think the results of failure in this war or any war will be the same as Vietnam — relatively inconsequential, at least for us. They claim to be concerned for the Iraqi civilians who are dying, but that feigned concern rings hollow. Just ask the millions of Vietnamese, Laotians and Cambodians who were slaughtered, died trying to escape or ended up in reeducation camps how much concern the American Left had for them.
Wars don’t only go in one direction, the enemy has a say as well. Wars are not over when you order them to be. Only a person with no history would think otherwise. Now if it is only a situation as the left believes I guess you can order up anything you want. Someone needs to get a grip big time.
Former U.S. envoy to the United Nations John Bolton said in an interview published in France that the United States has no strategic interest in a united Iraq. Bolton, who resigned last month from his temporary appointment as U.N. ambassador, also told the French daily Le Monde:
How come it is that you lefties quote conservatives when they say something somewhat in agreement with you but never, never quote anything that catergorically refutes any particular one of your mindsets? And indeed never changes your mind about any issue. I guess it depends on what you are pushing. And lefties bring a new meaning to truth and facts. In fact, I believe that to lefties there is no truth just opinion. What an ideal world that would be. Never wrong, always right. Never guilty, always innocent. Whatever you do is perfect because that is the way you see it and who cares about the other people you trample. Just like with the Libby trial. You people don’t see what a joke this whole trial is and a affront to justice. All you see is the chance to get one of the Bush people and that trumps everything else. Nevermind that a man could go to prison for forgetting what he said when he said it. This is a travesty.
You guys just don’t get it.
No colonial occupying power has ever won an extended war against insurgency. The Brits in the US. The French in Algeria or Viet Nam. The US in Vietnam. The Soviets in Afghanistan. We will never wear them down. They don’t care.
We WON the war in Iraq to the extent that it was winnable. We deposed Saddam Hussein. Clap each other on the backs, dudes.
Now it is a civil war. These folks have been fighting for 1,000 years. It’s not going to stop because we say it is.
It’s time to disengage and to THINK. But we’ll need another president – ANY other president. Jesus – Sam Brownback would be better than this ninny. He is CLUELESS.
