Murtha’s Muddled Madness

Published by at 10:16 am under All General Discussions,Iraq

In a long post below I review why the Democrat’s desperation to surrender to al Qaeda is the worst possible plan right now. One of the madmen behind this suicide policy is Rep Jack Murtha, who had the bizzaro idea of pulling our troops back to Okiniwa were they could watch events and go back into Iraq when conditions warrent (like when al Qaeda takes control). Murtha’s latest muddled thoughts included making up transparent and ridiculous conditions for deployment that that would ‘bleed’ the military into surrendering Iraq. Seems his muddled madness has caused some splits inside the Democrat party:

The plan was bold: By tying President Bush’s $100 billion war request to strict standards of troop safety and readiness, Democrats believed they could grab hold of Iraq war policy while forcing Republicans to defend sending troops into battle without the necessary training or equipment.

But a botched launch by the plan’s author, Rep. John P. Murtha (Pa.), has united Republicans and divided Democrats, sending the latter back to the drawing board just a week before scheduled legislative action, a score of House Democratic lawmakers said last week.

“If this is going to be legislation that’s crafted in such a way that holds back resources from our troops, that is a non-starter, an absolute non-starter,” declared Rep. Jim Matheson (Utah), a leader of the conservative Blue Dog Democrats.

Murtha’s credentials as a Marine combat veteran, a critic of the war and close ally of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (Calif.) were supposed to make him an unassailable spokesman for Democratic war policy. Instead, he has become a lightning rod for criticism from Republicans and members of his own party.

Murtha can’t honcho useless language through his own party’s Congress, so why is anyone taking this clown seriously on matters of national life and death? The Democrat echo chamber is now gone since they took the national stage, and they are just realizing all their stupid ideas they used to pass around as genius from heaven are really just a bunch of stupid ideas. As I posted below, it is time to figure out how to beat these Islamo Fascists – not give them want they want most.

Murtha is just plain stupid with hate for Bush.

    So, what’s wrong with dat?

Murtha isn’t exactly an “attractant,” ya know. He doesn’t do much, but spell out to most Americans that our troops are getting shafted by the “you know who’s,” who haven’t given up on their vietnam thread, yet.

Even though over in vietnam, there are lots of peon regrets. (Heck, you can use my DECODER RING.)

IN Vietnam, the “good folks” who embraced China, are getting shafted like doormats. A piece of land, connected to china, that china does not “halp” at all. Now, if the dumb bunnies had picked a better side to be in in the 1970’s?

Oh. I forget. There were some who did!

And, vietnam gets kicked in the ass on both sides of her cheeks. It’s CALLED BRAIN DRAIN. So many fleeing intelligent vietnamese putting up with terrible hardships, came to America. Where they flourish.

No, this is not a test.

It’s just what happens when consequences roll out.

Sort’a like when the Ford people thought Americans were ready for more chrome. More marketing ingenuity. And, of course. The Edsel.

    Of course, UGLY doesn’t sell.

You might also want to notice, not only is Murtha demented; he is also fat.

Just like Russert TUBBY. Where NBC pays $5,000,000 smackeroo’s a year. For what? A tub of lard like that shouldn’t cost so much money. Not that I care.

When stories come down the pike. And, they are full of holes, most Americans see the picture. And, draw their own conclusions.

Besides, do you know how blessed we are? Bill Clinton can’t run again. And, his wife is in “this thing” only for the money. While in hollyweird, of all places, t’night, they’re gonna honor algore. (Well, at least he doesn’t have to go up to Seattle, to get the prize that “he invented the internet.”)

Some people are paid way too much money fer nothin.

There will come a time, if Murtha is not successful, you’ll wish he had been. Like after thousands more US troops are killed and maimed
and Iraq is still unstable. And the pullout still commences.
Maybe another natural disaster here thrown in wherein the depleted Guard troops are busy getting shot in Iraq. And the pullout still commences.

Then you’ll learn when a lying buffoon chickenhawk who treats you like chattel sheep and who had “other priorities” when avoidingHIS
war-when this clucker blunders you into a never never land of
“last throes” victory (2005) and “remarkable progress” (2007)
you will not follow him into the abyss.

    Carol

A” fat” Murtha could still take the chickenhawk mentioned above.
Then there are a slew of those non-fighting amen-corner cluckers on the nerdy side: Podhoretz, Kristol, Feith, Krauthammer et al.

What ever happened to the Navy scandal between Pelosi and Murtha in California? How come we never hear about that? It must be ongoing. But I forgot the media doesn’t report dem scandals only republican. Murtha is a typical lib dem. Anything to win. Anything. Even to the point of getting our soldiers killed. The masses are expendable and disposable. Like Clinton, the dems loathe the military.

And, as I have said before, when did Murtha become a tactician. I thought he was a grunt in the marines. They don’t figure out battle plans and he doesn’t have any experience. Witness the asinine idea of “deploying” our 139,000 troops to Okinawa. Is Okinawa big enough to hold this many troops nevermind how many thousands of miles it is from Iraq and who we would have to fly over to get there quickly. The man is senile. How in the hell do these stupid democrats keep electing these losers like Murtha and Jefferson?

  10. ivehadit says:

Lasso, you do not personally know George W. Bush. It’s just a fact.

Your view of him is from your fantasy-riden, projection-laden BDS sites like Huffinton and kos and all the many other Mushroom purveyors…yes, they treat you like a mushroom: feed you c…p and keep you in the dark. They are shameless in their “lack of curiosity” for the truth.

So, because you do not know the President, personally, it is of NO importance what you post about him.

The truth shall set you free. Ask Tammy Bruce and the many other former libs…

Murtha is just plain stupid with hate for Bush.

Murtha ain’t the only one so stupid and filled with that much hatred towards Bush.

Llaso Apso is a prime example.

Michael Medved converted from Democrat to Republican, btw.

Let those Generals resign. They do not deserve to run the military. They will be replaced. No problem!

Al Qaeda had been strengthening in Wazirstan but dying in Iraq. They had been building up LONG, LONG before our invasion into Iraq. There is absolutely NO connection between AQ’s strength and our invasion into Iraq.

Glad to read that this is uniting the Republicans. All the more for the democrats to blunder some more to unite the Republicans even more.

  13. lurker9876 says:

So typical of llaso apso and sooth that we should begin calling them “Neo-CopperHeads”!

    Neo-CopperHeads

  14. lurker9876 says:

BTW, Captain Morissey has plenty to say about those “Commanders threatening to resign”

‘Commanders’ Will Quit If We Attack Iran?

First, as McQ at QandO points out, commanders serve in the field, and staff officers serve in the Pentagon. If in fact there exists a coterie of staff officers who will resign rather than follow orders, they are not commanders in the military sense, at least not now. Troops will not be left leaderless. Secondly, there are hundreds if not thousands of staff officers at the Pentagon. The resignation of six will be noteworthy but hardly representative of the morale at the Pentagon, as the Times claims in this piece.

However, those who resign under those circumstances will have taken the honorable route, if they truly do not believe in the mission. Jules Crittenden intimates that this will amount to a de facto desertion, but senior staff officers have no duty to remain in their commissions if they object to the course of action taken by any administration. They have undoubtedly met their commitments to the service in terms of time, and they can disconnect from the Pentagon as they see fit. It’s not the only honorable route, and it may well be more honorable to stay and try to convince the political leadership to change course, but staff officer resignations are not desertions and have never been considered as such.

  15. Jacqui says:

Powerlineblog has the best breakdown about the Times online story about the Generals quitting if we attack Iran…

    http://powerlineblog.com/archives/016878.php

So we have at least three layers of anonymity between us and the story’s headline. Unknown American officers allegedly have told unknown counterparts in British military or intelligence circles that they will resign, and these unidentified persons allegedly passed the word to an anonymous “source with close ties to British intelligence.” There is a word for this sort of fourth-hand information. It’s called a “rumor.”

    ……

But why tell the Iranians that? Dick Cheney has labored manfully to keep alive the idea that “all options are on the table” with respect to Iran. Consistent with that position, President Bush has sent aircraft carriers to the region. I’ve tried hard to think of a reason why it would be proper for an active duty officer to undercut U.S. foreign policy by leaking assurances to the Iranians that our uniformed services are so bitterly opposed to military action that any such action would be met with resignations. So far, though, I haven’t been able to come up with one.

  16. lurker9876 says:

We shall see how true this one is:

    There’s something about Jack

“The Washington Post reports that House Democrats are no longer pleased with their champion Jack Murtha, and his attempt to impose a defeat on the U.S. through a “slow bleed” strategy. However, as I suggest at the AOL blog, the displeasure may have less to do with the cynical nature of the Murtha’s plan than with his inability to disguise and conceal its cynicism.”

Wonder how much longer the House Democrats will remain pleased with Pelosi, especially when she insisted on making Murtha the Speaker of the House and standing by his “Slow Bleed” resolution.

  17. Terrye says:

If Murtha was a Republican he would be in the slammer right now.

And lassoing I am so sick of that chicken hawk nonsense from a party who ran a draft dodger for president. The fact that you can not see the hypocricy in that is just another example of hate making someone stupid.

I think that the reaction to Iranian interference in Iraq is stupid too. These are the Iranians we are talking about. They took an embassy and held our people, they killed hundreds of Marines, they have been screaming Death to America at the top of their lungs for decades, but who do the Democrats support in almost comical knee jerk reaction?

The Iranians of course. Why? Bush has not said he is going to invade. In fact he has said he will not invade and yet when military commanders in the field and the Sec of Defence produce physical evidence to back up their claims and we have dead soldiers to back up those claims as well…the Democrats suck up to the Iranians just to make Bush look bad.

Dammit, this is not all about Bush. Bush will be going back to Texas in a couple of years but the Democrats will apparently be stupid forever. They have decided that they can not even consider the possibility that Bush is right about this, oh nooo, they just have to call him a liar and turn their backs on the soldiers.

Hopefully the Iranians will back off anyway. After all, the Democrats are not running things yet.

  18. Terrye says:

BTW, Murtha has been a politician for a lot longer than he was a Marine.

Lasso-CopperHead, you are being lied to by many of those writers that you read. Shame you believe them.

This is NOT Bush’s war. It is America’s war.

Podhoretz, Krauthammer, et al, are not cowards as you described in your post above.

Terrye, it’s time for Murtha to retire or be voted out. Donja think the House Democrats are watching with dismay as the Republicans become more united? It’s time to watch our Republicans standing by Bush this time.
