Did Iran Admit To Exporting Death & Destruction To Iraq?
I just heard on Wolf Blitzer’s 7:00 PM Eastern “Situation Room” one of CNN’s British reporters say a recent statement by Iran regarding the EFPs and elements found in Iraq (a big cache was just found in Baghdad) was tantamount to an acknowledgement that Iran was exporting these weapons because he claimed it would now stop. Very interesting turn of events if true. And CNN seems to be reporting (H/T Powerline) that the US caught a Iranian General in Iraq associated with these weapons:
U.S. troops in Iraq are holding a top leader of an Iranian special forces group believed to be supplying weapons to insurgents who are targeting and killing U.S. forces in Iraq, U.S. officials said Monday.
Brig. Gen. Mohsen Chirazi, said to be the third-ranking officer in the Iranian Quds Force, was arrested in late December during a raid at the home of a man connected to the leader of the top Shiite party in Iraq with deep ties to the Iranian government, Abdul Aziz al-Hakim, according to U.S. officials.
I guess when you have an Iranian General with the Iranian weapons there is little point in pretending the Iranians are not trying to kill our people. I will try and find a link, but it was clear what the reporter (who is not a fan of the war) was intimating. Iran may have just confessed to an act of war.
