Pardoned Terrorist In Morroco Turns To Bombing

Published by at 1:23 pm under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT

The good news in this story is Morroco avoided a suicide bomb, but that crazy part is one or two of the suspects had been pardoned of previous terrorism charges. And it took ineptitude to incover the plot, not surveillance:

Police have arrested 13 people allegedly linked to a man who blew himself up in a Casablanca Internet cafe and found bomb-making equipment on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry spokesman said.

Like the bomber, at least one of those arrested had been in prison on terrorism charges before being pardoned, ministry spokesman Abderrahman Achour told The Associated Press.

Abdelfettah Raydi died when explosives hidden on his body went off in an internet cafe in the Casablanca slum of Sidi Moumen, injuring Raydi’s accomplice, Youssef Khouidri, and three bystanders.

Goes to show you what happens when you show a terrorist any mercy.

There are so many smarties here today, maybe someone can comment on something that I read, don’t know where, Libya’s nuclear program was really Saddams. There were thousands of Saddam’s scientist in Libya, Gadaffi gave it up thinking he would be found out, and next to get hit.

Your stray thoughts are better than some persons most coherent logic , if I may say so.

Libya had some clues from AQ Kahn, maybe Dale has more, but my impression is that this program was doomed to failure in so many ways.

Saddam had a bit over 500 tons of yellowcake under seal and when Gadaffi developed the pucker factor if the numbers I read are correct he had over 2600 tons of the stuff sitting on the shelf.

If I were to speculate, and I have seen on a few hints here and there, the nuclear program Saddam was working on is in another place now and it is not Iran. I have seen hints and bits that it is in Syria. But all those hints are places I have little faith in.

I am sure you are aware the 45 was developed to counter the threat of the Huks. Someone decided you had to have a weapon that could stop the body momentum of a person in mid air.

Dale, you only confirm what I have thought for a long time. In modern day terms, though, I have always believed that those imams who preach radical Islam do so not to lay blame for the ills of Islamic nations on themselves and their practices which would create dissention in the masses. So, in order, to avoid that, they lay the blame for the problems of their society on the Great Satan. We are the scapegoat for their self created problems.

Have you read Thomas Madden? He writes on the Crusades and he is not politically correct. He is a professor at St. Louis University and may teach history. He goes into the fact that all the nations conquered by Islam were once Christian, including the area known as Palestine which shared it’s history with the Jews.

  6. DaleinAtlanta says:

Merlin: Hi, yes, that and they needed something to penetrate the bamboo armor that the Huks also wore!

And you know the Huks used the Yo-Yo as a weapon, and it was brought back here as a toy!

And, finally, from all those AFRTS commercials; the word “boondocks” comes from the Tagalog “Bunduk”, which means “mountains”!

My wife is Pinay, from Mindanao by the way; but a resolutely Christian family, not “Moro”!

  7. retire05 says:

Dale, Bernard Lewis is probably the formost expert on Islam. Following in his footsteps are those like Daniel Pipes, Steve Emerson, and others. But unfortunately, no one is paying attention.

I have seen Dave rip off just off the top of his mind more cogent facts about the tiny minutia of Islam, its roots and factions only known to Islamic scholars for the most part.

I wish I could package his knowledge into two social networking diagrams.

One being the various sects and factions of the religion and the other being the players on this stage.

Fascinating thread, guys. I’ve been on the run all day, or I would have joined in.

I have seen too much of the wrong side of Olongopo City.

I have seen enough to know that for that concept there had to be an equal counter balance.

    Otherwise karma ain’t shit.

  11. DaleinAtlanta says:

Kathie/Merlin: Unfortunately, I have no “inside” information on that particular issue, though I’ve seen the same things and more, that you all allude too, and I do believe it!

Remember when Rabta was the hot-topic/button, back in
    ’88 – ’91?

We were ready to strike that, numerous times!

Plus, since the 70’s, the Muslims have always referred to the “Islamic” bomb, to counter the “Jewish” bomb; so the fact that AQ Khan was trying to make that a reality, via Iraq, Libya, and who knows where else, is of no surprise.

Frankly, I’d like to see us “render” him, and send him to Guantanmo, to get the truth out of him!

Retired, I had forgotten about Madden, yes, he’s good, and correct!

And your assessment that Imans lay the blame on us; is dead on!

Muslims are taught from the day that they first crawl, that Islam is infalliable, the only true religion, the only “revealed” religion, the only Monotheistic religion (Catholics are “pagans” really, because they worship the “trinity” = three gods; Protestants follow a corrupt form of Islam, etc….)!

So, if you are taught that, adn Believe it, how can you/Islam ever be wrong, about anything?

Ergo, it HAS to be someone else’s fault!

  12. MerlinOS2 says:

    Dale

When you proposed your “inconvient truth” story earlier, God slapping myself because I said that, if you remember we were discussing something that I suggest Rabta was the answer for and you gave me the wisdom Go East Old Man.

  13. DaleinAtlanta says:

Merlin: I moved to Benin City, Nigeria, when I was 8 years old!

I lived there for about six years.

I went to Cairo, when I was 19, and lived there about 5 years, and studied at the AUC, and learned Arabic.

I also lived in Puerto de Santa Maria Spain for 3 years, and Kinville/Camp Hansen for 2+ years.

In between that, I spent major time in: Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, Syria, Cyprus, Turkey, Oman, Bahrain, Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi; plus my Mom & Dad spent 13 years in Liberia, and 5 years in Khartoum!

I also visted northern Iraq for six weeks, the first time around! No need to recite the other European/Asian countries!

Anyway, the American public, doesn’t have a clue, as to what REAL LIFE in those countries are like!

You’ve seen Olongopo, and probably others, so you have an idea!

In America these days, if you’re “poor”; you have no cellphone, no iPOD, no Flatscreen/Plasma TV, and if you’re really poor, no Internet!

I have to remind my 3 daughter’s at dinner every night, for most of the world, having fricking SUPPER is a luxery!

That’s the reality of the world!

Not fricking Hollywood, or Times Square!

That said, the Leftist meme that “poverty” causes the Jihadis, and the aggrevances, against the US, is total Bullshit!

I can prove it just this quick!

And, again, I’ve never seen anyone else do this, and it amazes me!

Here is a list of the 50 Poorest countries in the World:

Afghanistan, Angola, Bangladesh, Benin, Bhutan, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Comoros, Democratic Republic of Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Kiribati, Laos, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Niger, Rwanda, Samoa, São Tomé and Príncipe, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Solomon Islands, Somalia, Sudan, East Timor, Togo, Tuvalu, Uganda, Tanzania, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zambia.

Go thru that list, and tell me right away, how many Jihadis, and how many Homicide bombers, have you seen, from Haiti?

    How about the Soloman Islands?

    Vanuatu?

    Laos?

Now, go thru that list, and tell me how many countries on that list, have produced Jihadis, and Homicide Bombers, and they are entirely and Islamic country, or a majority Islamic country, or have a sizable Muslim population, or, the best one, have Muslim converts??

    Hmmmmmmmm?

If poverty was the sole decider, we’d have Haitian Homicide bombers out the ass!

Instead, all we get is Muslims from Trinidad & Tobago, or from Jaimaca, involved!

    It’s not poverty, it’s THEOLOGY!

But we can’t say that, because of the “PC” Leftist nutbags in this country!

  14. DaleinAtlanta says:

Wow, I just posted a tremendously long post, that just disappeared into the aether….

    Dammit….

Will take some time to reconstruct it…..

  15. MerlinOS2 says:

Dale sorry I got that wrong I pointed to the “star gathering story” earlier, my bad.

Gotta just slap this keyboard to get it to do the right things.

  16. MerlinOS2 says:

I have seen Dale say more sense in 250 words than 3 or 4 volumes of State Department press releases.

Help me , we gotta get this guy to blog somewhere.

I am now gonna appeal to your baser instincts.

Prime Rib at my favorite restaurant if you visit where I live or if you don’t want to do that a 72 oz steak at Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amirollio, Tx.

    Pick yer poison.

  19. retire05 says:

Dale, your comment about how Muslims are taught from birth is in itself problematic. They are taught that nothing ever said by the prophet was wrong (although he believed that male spem came from the spinal cord) and therefore is as correct today as it was in the year 700. Hence, slavery in Islamic nations, the degradation of women as second class citizens whose worth is less than that of their flocks, and no value placed on children.
There are an estimated 1.2 Billion Muslims. If only 10% of them are radical fundalmentalist, that is 12 million people who want to kill us. Some Muslims who have accepted western ways and western values place the percentage much higher.
There was recently a Secular Islamic summit held here. It was paneled with moderate and apostate Muslims. Did you see anything about it in the MSM? Nope. Because we are not to know that there are Muslims in America who realize what we are up against. If their message were to get out to the masses, the pols could no longer hand us that clap trap of “peace” loving Islam. The blogger, Gateway Pundit covered the summit.
But I do not see Islam as a religion any more than I saw Nazism a religion. It is a political philosophy based on belief in their God. And most people do not even realize that Allah is not the same God we worship, as according to Mohammed, Allah only favors Muslims and considers anyone who does not accept Mohammed infidels.

I have said that Communism in America is alive and well. Look at the organizations that back pulling out of Iraq; International ANSWER (Marxist based), Code Pink (subscribes to Castro style Communism), NION (Communist). There is an excellent book “The Politics of Peace”. It gives the background of all these groups. It seems that to me these groups have linked arms with radical Islam to bring down the American social structure. Kind of a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” theory. So the war against radical Islam is winding up being a two front war, much like Germany and Japan which had nothing in common except the destruction of the United States.

Merlin, I’m not that far (OK, a day’s drive) from Amarillo. Care to share that 72 ounces? It is a bit much for me. That and a very, VERY cold Lone Star.
