Copycats Traumatizing More Kids
The copycats echoing the massacre at VA Tech across the country are simply traumatizing kids and parents everywhere – they are terrorizing them with the same fear the VA Tech family experienced.
ampus threats forced lock-downs and evacuations at universities, high schools and middle schools in at least 10 states on Tuesday, a day after a Virginia Tech student’s shooting rampage killed 33 people.
Threats in Louisiana, Montana and Washington state directly mentioned the massacre in Virginia, while others were reports of suspicious activity in Texas, Arizona, Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Dakota, South Dakota and Michigan.
In Louisiana, parents picked up hundreds of students from Bogalusa’s high school and middle school amid reports that a man had been arrested Tuesday morning for threatening a mass killing in a note that alluded to the murders at Virginia Tech.
These pathological nutjobs are not much better than any other mass murderer or terrorists as far as those who survive the attacks go. The feeling of safety and comfort in one’s community and family are shattered by these acts. I hope all of these copycats get the full force of the law thrown at them. Yes, there is not death or physical injury in these acts, but there are no uncountable more children – and younger ones – now scared out of their minds.
