Mad Murtha is at it again. He is ready to impeach President Bush because Iraq is turning out to be the hard effort he said it would be.
ep. John P. Murtha (D-Pa.) said Sunday that Democrats in Congress could consider impeachment as a way to pressure President Bush on his handling of the war in Iraq.
“What I’m saying, there’s four ways to influence a president. And one of them’s impeachment,†Murtha, chairman of the House Appropriations defense subcommittee, said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.â€
Like too many Democrats Murtha is moved by political calculation and how many seats his party can pick up instead of what is best for America. Impatience does not equate to high crimes and misedeamenors. I guess whiney George Tenet will be the prime witness or the “prosecution”. I would hope impeachment fever would grow, except for the fact al Qaeda would – again – get the wrong message and ratchet up their killing even more than they did now that they feel the Dems are buckling. Sadly, the Dems are using human lives in the ME for political gain. I think they have overreached. I think their madness and glee (Schumer was beside himself in how well Iraq could be played to their advantage) is isolated to the lefty halls of NY City and DC. I think America is not paying attention and simpy answering the question “do you want an end to Iraq” with a simple ‘of course’. But impeachment? Surrendering to Bin Laden? No one is asking those questions in the polls….
