Democrats’ Blood II

Published by at 3:22 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

The Democrats better stop playing games and get the money and material flowing to our troops. Their partisan greed has already sent signals to al Qaeda and others to ramp up the killings – which they gleefully did. But now protective vehicles are being held up ONLY because the money is not flowing

The armored carrier has a grim black slash across its side, burn marks on the door and a web of cracks along the window.

Like most of the Mine Resistant, Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles in Anbar province, this one has been hit as many as three times by enemy fire and bomb blasts. Yet, to date, no American troops have died while riding in one.

But efforts to buy thousands more carriers, each costing about $1 million (euro730,000), could be delayed if the White House and Congress do not resolve their deadlock over a $124.2 billion (euro91 billion) war spending bill.

About $3 billion (euro2.2 billion) for the vehicles is tied up in the legislation. The spending plan has stalled because of a dispute over provisions that would set a timetable for the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Iraq.

At a hearing last month, lawmakers urged the Army to get more of the carriers to the battlefront as quickly as possible.

Got that? Last MONTH Congress told the military to get these life saving vehicles to the front was critical and this month they refused to send the funds without any conditions. This is what political desperation looks like. This is power lust. To say these systems are critically important and then in the next breathe hold them hostage is the epitome of hypocrisy. Dems claim Bush is not listening? Hell, the Dems are not listening TO THEMSELVES! Supply our troops! Save lives! Pass the damn clean Bill already!

Addendum: The hypocrisy of the Surrendercrats is stunning. Check out this statement from Dorgan (D-ND):

Senators pressed for more. “We’re buying far too few of them,” said Sen. Byron Dorgan, a North Dakota Democrat. “If we have that capability, why would we not do everything to mobilize, to move as many of them into the field as is possible?

Why Senator? Because, you fool, you did not give Bush the funds he needed? Even when you knew a veto was imminent you took politics over lives? How many will die because of your crass partisanship?

they do not have the constitutional authority to place conditions on the spending

Cite your authority – but it has to be more than your uninformed opinion. What’s your source for the claim that the first among equals of the three branches of government may not write their appropriations bills as they see fit. Novel concept.

  2. Soothsayer says:

One more thing, very simple question SS, did the Democrats vote yeah or neah to go to war with Iraq?

Technically, they Authorized the Use of Military Force – IF all other avenues failed. Which – of course, they didn’t – because Bush short-circuited the weapons inspection regimen that would have shown that Saddam had no WMD’s if it had been completed. So – did they vote to go to war?

    No, they didn’t.

  3. DaleinAtlanta says:

    Soothsayer:

Gotta love the deluded fantasyland you live in pal!

But, then again, as a foolish, juvenile, imbecilic, BDS-inflicted, Pro-Jihadi, Anti-American, treasonous Leftist, I would expect nothing else!

Let’s just say, you’re always amusing, always contemptible, alwasy predictable!

Plus, you suffer from psychosis, cognitive dissonence, Category Error, psychological displacement, Stockholm syndrome like all treasonous Leftists, and you love the Jihadis because you also, practice Taqiyyah!

Anyway, from your own Leftist source, read ‘er and weep, you Beclowned fool:

Congress passed, in 2002, the resolution called:

Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq

Hmmmmmmmm, ….chirp…..chirp…..chirp……..wonder what that “…to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces….” part means?

    Huh…….chirp……chrip…..

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm……..??????

Here’s the only part you can read:
SEC. 2. SUPPORT FOR UNITED STATES DIPLOMATIC EFFORTS

The Congress of the United States supports the efforts by the President to–

    (a) strictly enforce through the United Nations Security Council all relevant Security Council resolutions applicable to Iraq and encourages him in those efforts; and

    (b) obtain prompt and decisive action by the Security Council to ensure that Iraq abandons its strategy of delay, evasion and noncompliance and promptly and strictly complies with all relevant Security Council resolutions.

    Okay, great; he did that….

Ah, but the part that in your deluded world, that doesn’t exist:

SEC. 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR USE OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES.

    (a) AUTHORIZATION. The President is authorized to use the Armed Forces of the United States as he determines to be necessary and appropriate in order to

    (1) defend the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq; and
    (2) enforce all relevant United Nations Security Council Resolutions regarding Iraq.

Ah, notice that part that says: “….as he determines to be necessary….”??

    Hmmmmmm……chirp……chirp…….chirp…….

    Wonder what that means???

    Hmmmmmmm?

    Or how about this?

    (b) PRESIDENTIAL DETERMINATION.

In connection with the exercise of the authority granted in subsection (a) to use force the President shall, prior to such exercise or as soon there after as may be feasible, but no later than 48 hours after exercising such authority, make available to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President pro tempore of the Senate his determination that

    (1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic or other peaceful means alone either (A) will not adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq or (B) is not likely to lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq, and

    (2) acting pursuant to this resolution is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations or persons who planned, authorized, committed or aided the terrorists attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.

    (c) WAR POWERS RESOLUTION REQUIREMENTS. —

    (1) SPECIFIC STATUTORY AUTHORIZATION. — Consistent with section 8(a)(1) of the War Powers Resolution, the Congress declares that this section is intended to constitute specific statutory authorization within the meaning of section 5(b) of the War Powers Resolution.

The bottomline, Soothie, as is typical of all Treasonous Leftists, like yourself, you live in LaLa land, where the FACTS just don’t matter.

The FACT is, the Congress passed the resolution, and voted on it, the Democrats authorized it, and they gave the President, the AUTHORITY to make the Determination to use force, as he saw fit; and nowhere, does it say, he couldn’t use force, until any/all Surrendercrat/Neville Chamberlain/Quisling/Traitors like yourself, were “satisfied”!

Read ‘er and weep Weasel; your party voted for it, NOW DEAL WITH IT!

Your lies, and protestations and fraudulent posts to the contrary….

    HAH!

    SS:
Oh I get it, this is another version of define the word.

Now who was President in 1998 when the Iraq Liberation Act (Public Law 105-338) H.R. 4655, was passed, I forget it was so long ago? (note: passed 360-38 in house, unanimous in the Senate)

And who was it who authorized the attack on Iraq in 1998 to help bring around regime change and “to establish a program to support a transition to democracy in Iraq.” ?

I can’t understand why Democrats are having such a hard time getting behind the Iraq war. The President is only continuing the policies of the previous administration. There are only two differences I can see. One President has an R the other a D. And one President used war to distract from his impeachment. And yes any attack against a soverign nation, it’s civilians, it’s troops, it’s elected leaders, it’s territories, or it’s emabassies is an act of war. No matter the party affiliation, or the country.

Who short circuited the weapons inspections? I believe the inspectors were pulled out long before Bush was in office. In 1998 the Clinton administration pulled the inspectors out so they could bomb freely with out killing inspectors. Inspectors did not return to Iraq for another four years. So who was it who short circuited the inspection program?? And all to divert attention from his impeachment.

And Iraq did have WMD’s, caches of chemicals have been destroyed. Store houses have been found with UN seals on the doors, but windows and side doors ripped open. Dual use vehicles that were suppossed to be for the generation of helium, and can be used to make WMD’s was found. Funny thing is Iraq was not banned from importing helium, and their helium generating equipment really didn’t generate helium too well. It was cheaper and easier to import, which by the way they were doing.

They authorized military force, the President is using military force, they can defund, or fund once the President gets authorization. They can be arm chair Generals, but they do not run the war.

  7. Soothsayer says:

I believe the inspectors were pulled out long before Bush was in office.

Gee, Scaulen, too bad you can’t read:

Inspections restarted in 2002, but hadn’t turned up any evidence of ongoing programs when the United States and the “Coalition of the Willing” invaded Iraq and overthrew Saddam Hussein in March 2003 . . . In January 2003, United Nations weapons inspectors reported that they had found no indication that Iraq possessed nuclear weapons or an active program.

As for Dale the imbecilic rightwing draft-dodging, limpwristed Republican war wimp:

Weapons inspectors were in place in Iraq prior to the invasion, and Bush said on or about November 20, 2002,

Iraqi disarmament could be reached peacefully if the “collective will of the world is strong,” but warned that Saddam Hussein could face “his final stage” as Iraq’s leader if he deceives United Nations weapons inspectors.

Instead of giving the inspectors time to determine that there were NO WMD’s – Bush launched a pre-emptive invastion based on false premises and forged documents – documents that are being traced as we speak to Dick Cheney’s office. The was has lasted longer than WWII; 100 US troops died in April; and the liar remains in the White House.

  8. lurker9876 says:

    Wrong again!

Your whole post is absolutely wrong; making you look delusional and brainwashed.

Bush did NOT launch a pre-emptive invasion based on false premises and forged documents adn they were NOT traced to Dick Cheney’s office. Bush is not a liar either. This is a generational war and Bush told us so. Which means this war is going to last a long time.

  9. ivehadit says:

Ya know, I wonder if sorosites has ever been confronted with the notion that Saddam was playing mega-tricks with the inspectors…and I wonder ifthey have been confronted with the fact that they would TRUST Saddam Hussein…Very telling, this is.

And ss, George and Dick KNEW about the forged documents from the french and Italians waaaay ahead of the media/dnc.

And explain to me exactly WHAT George and Dick have personally gained by going into Iraq, except the lifelong gratitude of me, my children and grandchildren…and, for George, a place in the top five best Presidents in history… (don’t worry, ss, it won’t be in your lifetime)
As far as I can see they have born great hatred by the likes of all global socialist/communist sorosites who just can’t help themselves in the presence of the Light.

  10. scaulen says:

So you agree Saddam had 4 years with no one watching him?? You also must agree with the Clinton administration when they said he had WMDs and has used them? Then in 2002 there were no huge stock piles of WMDs. So in the four years that the inspectors were kept out of Iraq by Clinton what do you think Saddam did with the WMDs?

SS quoting Scott Ritter, classic come back. Since your having trouble reading I’ll put it in chat lingo.

Lets see Scott Ritter time line

When Clinton in office, in Iraq every day, “OMFG boss WMDS every where, lets pwn Saddam!!!!”
When Bush in office, Ritter out of Iraq for 4 years, “WTF no WMDS any where, me and Dems R GONNA PWN U!!!!”

Um which forged documents are you speaking of??? Would those be the ones made up by Joe Wilson? Please inform me of which ones you are talking about, maybe a link or something to their existence.

This war has lasted longer then WWII??? US involvement, or the war in general? 100 troops in April, unfortunately when you have a war people die. People also die every day from a myriad of different things. So should we stop driving, should we close colleges, should we stop all abortions? Would you like to do a goggle for how many troops died invading Tarawa, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal? How about how many troops died during the practice to D-Day? How about how many troops die in non combat incidents in the continental US? Or lets look at the savior of the world Former President William Jefferson Clinton, how many troops died in his first term???
    Bill Clinton . . . . . . . . . 4302 (1993-1996)
Hear that??? It’s the crickets, the outpouring of hate and derision for the deaths under President Clinton’s first term.

Don’t forget Saddam had the technology, and the scientists to make more WMDs, all he needed was the UN resolution to crumble and he would be free to start up his programs full bore. The Oil for Food scandal showed us that many countries had been bought off, and the sanctions were going to be lifted. He had already co-operated with terrorists, and terrorist supporting nations. There is no way in the world any sane person would want Saddam, unhindered by sanctions or inspections, to continue his trail of revenge. Trying to assassinate a former President should have been all it took to bring the hammer down, but we being the good guys actually took the time to get the permission to get rid of that stain on the under wear of the world.

    Hahahahahaha…

If you weren’t so pathetic, and not the spawn of a hydrocephalic simian, you’d know that in front of the entire readership, you’ve exposed yourself as an ignoramous!

First and foremost, I never said a word about “inspectors”!

Anywhere; but yes, they were all kicked out under Clinton, and went back in briefly under President Bush, and found nothing. The President made a “call” in light of typical Iraqi intransigence, and obfruscation, and that was it.

Guess what, it was HIS CALL to make, not your, not mine, HIS CALL, as granted to him by the UN and the US Congress!

    Deal with it!

Second, everyone here, except you, because you are a Buffoon; knows that I served in the United States Marine Corps; spent time in Iraq, that I’ve been an Islamist for the past 30 years, that I speak Arabic, that I’ve been a leading Intelligence Analyst for both the Marine Corps and the “US Govt” in my past; and that I’ve FORGOTTEN more about the Middle East, Islam, Iraq, etc., than you, and all your Treasonous Leftist nutbag friends, combined!

So you can try to insult me, by calling me a Republican War Wimp; but it doesn’t stick.!

Additionally, I just happen to be 100% Areligious; haven’t been inside a Church in over 20 years, and am proud of it, and I’m a resolutely secular, and registered Independent.

And, unlike you, with the reflexive Anti-American/Pro-Jihadi/BDS-afflicted nonsense, I’ve voted for BOTH Republican AND Democratic Presidents! I in fact, voted for Bill Clinton!

So, out of the two of us, I’m the ONLY one with Military experience; I’m the only one with any experience in the Mddle East; I’m the ONLY one who understand the Jihadis, I’m the only one who has any Intel experience, and I”m the only one who is Non-partisan and unbiased!

The only thing I AM biased againsts, is Treason, and Anti-Americans……..chirp…..chrip…..chirp……

Ergo, I actually can make up my mind, and evaluate the facts; based upon my knowledge and experience!

You, on the other hand, stare into the mirror, at your concave, hairless chest, picking your pimples, with your orange/Cheetos-stained fingers, while you listen to the Democratic Talking points the MSM feeds you, and which you flexively regurgitate whenever someone squeezes your head for your opinion!

You have to do that, because you’ve only seen the world, via the keyhole of your frontdoor, and via your Search Engine!

You have no experience, knowledge, nor opinion, that isn’t handed to you, via the other mindless drones that inhabit the Leftist hive-mind of the Democratic Underground, Moveon.org, Daily Kos, etc.

Ahhhhhh, burnt toast Leftist, I love it…….

  12. Soothsayer says:

Oh, really? Do tell. In 1983 and 1984 I was stationed in Damascus, Syria and gathered intelligence on Syrian Defense Ministry bases and operations in the Bekaa Valley. I had access to latest model Russian T-72 tanks – the ones with F1 style monococque consturction and “hung” armor.

I had tea daily with Russian military advisors.

    As for

    everyone here, knows

Why – because YOU told them. Like I’d believe your pathetic blather. Can it, nancyboy. Don’t ask – don’t tell. Dale ? – that was Roy Rogers wife, right?

Ok Truthie…… RNC congress sends up a bill at request of president for funding for education bill that includes sex ed, help for unwed mothers, etc…..PLUS a little side attachment that outlaws abortion on a phase out program over one year.

Then, launch a media campaign to suggest..that it’s a “funding” bill for education and to help poor single moms…and that vetoing it…it simply deny money for unwed moms??? LOL…..S_U_R_E thing!! Hehehehe. You think the public would buy that??

  16. Dc says:

Instead of giving the inspectors time to determine that there were NO WMD’s – Bush launched a pre-emptive invastion based on false premises and forged documents – documents that are being traced as we speak to Dick Cheney’s office.

Lets see if we can unravel that. 1) giving inspectors time to determine that there were NO WMDs.

Ok..truthie…FIND that in resolution 1441?? Where does it say that??? The truth is….and I know this is very hard for you…that resolution 1441 did not put the responsiblity on Hans Blix to find WMD in Iraq and allot him all the time necessary to do it. It was not remotely about that kind of process.

We “can” post 1441 here if you need it?? Have you ever even read it??? Pre-emptive invasion based on false premises and faulty documents?

I assume you are referring to the “niger” J Wilson “documents’.

I hate to bust your BDS bubble Truthslayer…but…perhaps you should go back and actually do some fact checking on this.
The “documents” were not even in US hands until just before Powells UN meeting (6 or 8 months AFTER Wilson’s trip to Niger).
The entire “yellowcake” issue was immaterial to the NIE’s assessments about WMD in Iraq. It had nothing to do with it.

Further..the idea …after the fact…that somehow…there simply could not be a rouge mining operation in Africa..say…in Congo..??….has already been busted out : http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6432363.stm

    OOOppps.

  17. Dc says:

    Truthslayer says:

They’re our “allies” now – ever since George looked deep into Putin’s eyes, saw his soul and pronounced it “good.”

YOu mean Tenet? Or Bush? LOL.

Here’s a few excerpts fromTenet’s book about the AlQueda /Iraq intelligence they had at the time:

“There was more than enough evidence to give us real concern about Iraq and al-Qa’ida; there was plenty of smoke, maybe even some fire: Ansar al-Islam [note: Tenet refers to Ansar al-Islam by its initials “AI” in several places]; Zarqawi; Kurmal; the arrests in Europe; the murder of American USAID officer Lawrence Foley, in Amman, at the hands of Zarqawi’s associates; and the Egyptian Islamic Jihad operatives in Baghdad.”

The intelligence told us that senior al-Qa’ida leaders and the Iraqis had discussed safe haven in Iraq. Most of the public discussion thus far has focused on Zarqawi’s arrival in Baghdad under an assumed name in May of 2002, allegedly to receive medical treatment. Zarqawi, whom we termed a “senior associate and collaborator” of al-Qa’ida at the time, supervised camps in northern Iraq run by Ansar al-Islam (AI).

“…We believed that up to two hundred al-Qa’ida fighters began to relocate there in camps after the Afghan campaign began in the fall of 2001. The camps enhanced Zarqawi’s reach beyond the Middle East. One of the camps run by AI, known as Kurmal, engaged in production and training in the use of low-level poisons such as cyanide. We had intelligence telling us that Zarqawi’s men had tested these poisons on animals and, in at least one case, on one of their own associates. They laughed about how well it worked. Our efforts to track activities emanating from Kurmal resulted in the arrest of nearly one hundred Zarqawi operatives in Western Europe planning to use poisons in operations.”

“…What was even more worrisome was that by the spring and summer of 2002, more than a dozen al-Qa’ida-affiliated extremists converged on Baghdad, with apparently no harassment on the part of the Iraqi government. They had found a comfortable and secure environment in which they moved people and supplies to support Zarqawi’s operations in northeastern Iraq.

Other high-level al Qaeda terrorists set up shop in Baghdad as well. From Saddam’s neo-Stalinist capital they planned attacks around the globe …”
(H/T to Flopping Aces). There’s plenty more.

I too have been in Damascus, and have gathered Intel on the Syrian military, and there is not a chance that you did what you say, based upon the info you’ve put in your latest post!

    Nice try though!

Damascus is in Syria, Bekaa is in Lebanon, in 1983, thanks to Mugniyeh, the Bekaa was death for Americans; you’re full of crap!

How did you cross the Syrian – Lebanese border?

Russian Military advisors IN LEBANON? is that what you are implying?

    Hah!

That’s the second post where you’ve tried to imply the whole “homosexual” thing, vis a vis me; wow, what a tolerant, open-minded Leftist you are!

I agree with Scaulen; IF you were even within a lightyear of Damascus and the Bekaa, having tea with the Russians, they definitely “turned you”, and explains why you are the Anti-American/Pro-Jihadi nutbag that you are!

My advice, before you embarrass yourself more: go back to your Google Search engine, and your frontdoor key hole, and find yourself a new opinion!

Ah, Dale, hysterical – just like Roy’s wife. Where did you stay in Syria, Dale, in your own little make-believe world? I stayed at the Damscus Sheraton and spent a lot of time in the Salsabil Lounge where the sheiks from the emirates would come to indulge in forbidden pursuits, and Walid Jumblatt would come in with his bodyguards for a tall cool one.

With respect to Syria and Lebanon, you idiot, of course Damascus is in Syria and Bekaa is in Lebanon – but it wasn’t death to Americans if you weren’t a redneck hayseed with a big mouth. I crossed the borders of Lebanon in a Syrian Defense Ministry van, fool, and I never said Russian advisors were in Lebanon.

On my first trip, I was there when the embassy was bombed; second trip when the Marine barracks were hit.

You can advise any way you want – I don’t listen to ignorant jarhead blowhards.
