When Will Leiberman Bolt The Dems? How Many US Deaths Will It Take?
I keep wondering when Sen Joe Leiberman will end the fiasco over the war in Iraq. With Clinton and Byrd now planning to end the war authorization(they can’t – those pesky Presidential vetoes again) Leiberman should be near his breaking point. Of course, it could be he is not willing to make the leap. But somehow that doesn’t fit with his willingness to go out and win his election as an Independent after his party dumped him.
The Dems are truly heading full steam into the abyss. Another idiotic plan is to fund the troops only for a month or so – look for another veto. As long as life saving material is NOT getting to the troops, the Dems (who must initiate the funding Bills) and their petty games will be responsible for every dead soldier due to lack of protection. I am not sure how long the Dems or Leiberman can let our military be killed and maimed? They sent them in harms way to do a job – it is a little bit too late to say “never mind”.
OTOH, AJ, every day they spend pursuing silly actions like this is one more day they stay out of my wallet. Come November, 2008, their lack of meaningful legislation could (should) come back to haunt them. As you say: “full steam into the abyss.”
Actually, the Dems must initiate the funding Bills that can successfully be enacted. So the fault remains on the Democrats’ side.
The efforts to end the war resolution doesn’t mean anything as it would have no effect to ending of the Iraq war. The war will continue no matter what, even after the US troop pullout.

Is Fred Thompson right when he said to just give the Dhimmicrats a little room? Are they walking to the political hangman’s noose on their own?
These clowns seem to forget that the military, like the general population, is split between Dhimmicrats and Republicans. The longer they fail to fund the troops, the more military families will desert them in retaliation for the Dhimmicrats deserting them.
Are we witnessing the beginning of self-inflicted gun shot wounds to the feet of the Dhimmicrats?

Sadly, Lurker, with the help of their willing accomplices in the MSM and the seeming inability of Repubs to defend themselves, the Donks will probably succeed in blaming any mess at the end of Bush’s term on his administration and Republicans in general.

Unfortunately, AJ (and I’d LOOOVE to be prove wrong on this) if Lieberman flips and becomes a Republican, the Senate would STILL remain under Democratic control:

Liebermann won’t flip. He’ll just keep voting for the war appropriations but nothing else the republicans put forward. He’s a democrat with a little blip on his record. He will run on the democrat ticket in 5 1/2 years. He won’t blot his copy book now. Or burn any bridges.
