Dadullah Is Dead
What great news out today! I predicted we would see a major hit on the Taliban leadership this year. Now with the number two leader dead (number three was a few weeks ago) we can celebrate another good day in the war on Islamo Fascism.
The killing of the top Taliban commander Mullah Dadullah, a one-legged fighter who orchestrated suicide attacks, beheadings and an ethnic massacre, marks a major victory for the U.S. campaign at a time of flagging Afghan support over civilian killings.
As victims of Dadullah’s brutality celebrated his death Sunday, analysts called the killing the most significant Taliban loss since the 2001 U.S.-led invasion. But even NATO acknowledged that Dadullah, who directed some of the Taliban’s most notorious violence, would soon be replaced.
Dadullah, a top lieutenant of Taliban leader Mullah Omar, was killed in the southern province of Helmand during a U.S.-led operation that also involved NATO and Afghan troops, NATO’s International Security Assistance Force said.
Kandahar Gov. Asadullah Khalid, who called Dadullah a “brutal and cruel commander” showed the body to reporters in Kandahar who saw a one-legged corpse with bullet wounds to the head, chest and stomach.
Qari Yousef Ahmadi, a purported Taliban spokesman, denied that the Taliban commander had been killed, but there appeared little doubt Dadullah was dead.
The Islamo Fascists cannot run indefinitely with their charismatic leaders being killed off. Nazism was embodied in few truly evil men. Once they began to get killed off the aura around them dimmed and they and their movement literally came back down to earth. The same is happening with Islamo Fascism as the rhetoric collides with reality. As the promise of a Ismalists future disappear to be replaced with dead – and now quiet – leaders people begin to see the futility of their cause. We saw this in WW II with the Nazis, the Fascists in Italy and the Imperial Japanese. Once the myths were busted, democracy and peace replaced the insanity.
I think we are seeing that now as the Sunni’s are aligning against al Qaeda in Anbar and other regions of Iraq. And the Taliban are making arrangements to live in peaceful co-existance in Pakistan and Afghanistan. It will not happen immediately. It took years to turn the tide in WW II and then win the war. But progress is clear and undeniable.
Omar isn’t ready to quite. Omar finally surfaced with a “Uniting all Muslims” to fight against infidels. Hopefully, we will find him soon.
