al Qaeda clearly brings nothing but bloodshed, killing, heart ache and – worst of all – defeat. The Middle East is slowly realizing that for all their brave talke al Qaeda’s efforts results in massive muslim deaths – more often than not at the hand of al Qaeda themselves. al Qaeda seems to think mass killings of Muslims will scare America and her allies into a fetal position (from which beheadings can then easily take place). The actual result is Western and moderate Muslim forces face down al Qaeda and give them a good butt-whooping, like is happening now in Lebanon:

Lebanese leaders vowed yesterday to crush Islamic fighters holed up in a Palestinian refugee camp, raising fears of a deadly new showdown after fierce fighting that has killed 69 people and sent thousands fleeing. “We will put an end to the terrorist phenomenon without hesitation,” Prime Minister Fuad Siniora said after his defence minister issued an ultimatum to Fatah al-Islam to surrender or face further attack.

A Lebanese warship patrolling the Mediterranean fired on and sank inflatable boats carrying extremists fleeing from their stronghold in the besieged camp of Nahr al-Bared, an army spokesman said, but their fate was unknown. Lebanon was also hit by its third bomb attack in four days, further shaking the fragile security of a country battling deep political and sectarian tensions.

Note the unambiguous response. It seems “sectarian” is now the media’s code word for the battle between the Islamo Fascists and the moderate, modern muslims. The media is not giving this ‘civil war’ much press because America’s role is much more detached than in Iraq. But America’s INTERESTS are identical and that is the destruction of al Qaeda by the Arab/Muslim street itself. The civil war the Dems keep whining about is the one we have needed to have for twenty years. We need the modern, moderate muslims to throw off al Qaeda and their violent theology. And they are attempting to do that. al Qaeda has been shown to be a losing proposition all around. Death, more death and al Qaeda ends up with its martyrs laying across the battle fields in defeat. Too many times surrounded by innocent muslims at a market or mosque. The tide is turning in our favor. We cannot let the denial in the SurrenderMedia and from the Surrendercrats hide the fact more and more arms are being taken up and joining us in the fight against al Qaeda.

What is criminal in all this is not Bush and his war on terrorism (yes Johnny, there are terrorists in the world) but the complicit denial from the leftward fringes. It is one thing to be against Bush. It is another to give a pass to al Qaeda or hide their true nature. Ralph Peters does a great job of exposing this dangerous hypocrisy on the left:

After the Fatah al-Islam terrorists holed up in a Palestinian camp carried out a wave of bombings, bank robberies and assassinations, Lebanon’s struggling democratic government ordered its army to stop them. The Palestinian refugees themselves applauded the army’s efforts, stating that few of the terrorists were local and most were fanatics from other Muslim states. The terrorists ruled with the gun and sought to enforce Sharia law. Their victims want them gone.

The response from Human Rights Watch? Ignore the crimes of the terrorists and criticize the Lebanese army for attacking them “indiscriminately.”

The far left is out of their minds right now. We cannot have organizations excusing bloody brutality and criticizing forces that come in and try and regain peace and order. These so called human rights organizations are just as bad as any holocaust denier. Even worse because they are denying what is happening right in front of them. The left seems hell-bent on self destructing over the war on terror. You are either with us or with them. Too many on the left are siding with the beheaders and bombers of schools. How they can live with themselves is beyond me.
