al-Qaeda Chemical Attack On Arabs/Muslims

Published by at 12:14 pm under All General Discussions,Diyala,Iraq

al-Qaeda is in serious desparation in Iraq if it thinks it will be winning converts amongst the Iraq people by attacking them with Chlorine laced bombs:

A car bomb exploded about 200 yards from the entrance of a U.S. military base northeast of Baghdad today, unleashing a cloud of chlorine that sickened at least 62 personnel but caused no injuries, the military said.

The use of chlorine canisters to turn an ordinary bomb into a chemical weapon has become a signature tactic of insurgents fighting U.S. and Iraqi forces in Al Anbar province, west of Baghdad. But today’s attack was believed to be the first time the tactic was used in Diyala province, north and east of the capital.

A thick smell of chorine hung over the U.S. base on the edge of the Diyala provincial capital, Baqubah, after today’s attack. The soldiers affected sought treatment for dizziness and nausea, but none of the cases was believed to be life-threatening, said Maj. Raul Marquez, a military spokesman.

The chlorine bombs in Anbar Province showed up as local Sunni’s began shifting away from al Qaeda and started fighting them instead. It was a desparation move to try and brow-beat the locals into submission for their treachery. While it is a terrible act on al-Qaeda’s part, it may be a sign that al-Qaeda is again losing support and the local population is turning on them in their last stronghold in Iraq – Diyala Province. As I have posted before, as goes Diyala so goes Iraq.

Speaking of truly desperate (as opposed to being able to
launch such chlorine attacks five years into a quagmired war)
General Sanchez says a US victory is impossible and the
best that can be hoped for is continued stalemate.
Well we’ve had four years of that.

Support the troops; bring ’em home , yesterday!

Any doubts Al-Q will not use any weapon they can get their hands on?

Oh and about the Off Topic comment from the most recent Soothie incarnation, funny you would quoting from a source at the top of the command for the Abu Ghraib panty party. Think he has axe to grind with the Bush Admin for being forced to leave?

Is thecentercannothold the latest incarnation of Ken? I know Ken metastasized into soothie at some point after a couple other life’s but it seems he has now become thecenterannothold. Does anyone know for sure. He/she/it has all the characteristics.

Hey thecentercannotholdit’swater we’ll pull out just like you want and leave Iraq to the terrorists, Iran, Syria, and any other POS with dreams of using the oil revenue as a launching point for attacks on non Muslims. Answer this question smart guy, what do we do after we pull the troops out of Iraq? Seriously what is your plan?

Of course the oil law which Bush insists the new Iraq government pass, gives first divs on the “oil revenue” to American companies.
Maybe there’s a cause for the “terrorism” there, Scaulen.
According to both Michael Scheuer and Andrew Bacevich, both
    conservatives, there is.
