More Hypochondriac Misinformation

Published by at 3:22 pm under All General Discussions,Illegal Immigration

My site has been plagued by false claims of pending doom on the immigration issue. These false profits of doom keep emphasizing the empty rhetoric Bush so accurately called the immigration bill’s opponents on. For example, if you hear gang members and sex offenders are exempt (as many a Chicken Little posted in my comments sections) don’t believe a word of it:

The close vote on a proposal by Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, to bar felons—including those court-ordered to be deported—from legalization reflected the delicate position of the contentious immigration bill, which remains under threat from the right and the left.

The vote was 51-46 against the amendment. Democrats succeeded in sucking support from Cornyn’s proposal by winning adoption of a rival version that would bar a more limited set of criminals, including certain gang members and sex offenders, from gaining legalization. The Senate backed that amendment 66-32.

See, all that happened is the immigration hypochondriacs did not get their version of the amendment, clearly a better and more broadly supported version was adopted. The credibility of the shrill-seakers on right is toast. They keep making wild claims which are proved wrong and so they go onto making more wild claims. I guess Chicken Little is the wrong analogy. They are more like the little boy who cried ‘wolf’!

Well, Merlin, sounds like a good thing to me, I mean he was probably just here to support his family and do a little ‘breaking the law’ accidently, so I think he deserves another chance, I mean even a little sexual assault on a minor now is okay, even if he didn’t sign up as a convicted sexual offender, he’s still an upstanding illegal that is suitable for Z card and guaranteed path to citizenship….

    Just call me chicken little.

Stevvs you mean that McCain is FOR a fence today? He was emphatically against one just last night. Does he know if he’s for or against one? Wait till tomorrow, he’ll have his mind changed again.

Just this morning the bill was PERFECT and now some amendments have been passed. So now it is PERFECT ++ , I guess.

    You said
“Question: You want to build a wall of 370 miles, which would be fine if the Border was 370 miles. Why not build a wall that stops the flow?
McCain: well, my experts say a wall in un populated areas is inefective!”

I am not sure that McCain is for limiting fenecing only to 370 miles and that is it. Have you heard that he is against more than 370 miles of fencing.

Also in unpopulated areas is he for more virtual technology in those areas?

“we know that legal immigrants get ticked-off by illegal immigration”

I think that even illegal immigrants sometimes get fed up with it too. I was listening to one of the local Spanish radio stations (actually, my Central American wife was) a while ago, and there was some call-in talk show. A few construction workers complained that people were coming in from Mexico and doing lower-quality work for less money. You need to know that here in North Carolina, most Latin American immigrants are Mexican (I’d say 80-90%), and most of those are illegal. So what I think we heard was illegal immigrants complaining about the illegal immigrants who came after them.

  5. biglsusportsfan says:

I mean if that is on the radio show then McCain is wrong I would feel. Now if he is talking baout virtual in places fine. I think physoical fenecing should be more fluid to the situation.

  6. stevevvs says:

I think McCain would feel more at home at AJ’s house, than he did in that Radio Interview. It got ugly, honestly. The McCain from South Carolina in 2000 re-emerged. He does NOT like to be challenged.
He did sound like he at least can stomach 370 miles of Fencing. But a Physical Barrior, why that is In-effective! Why, just ask Israel!

It’s hard to take these pompus, been there too long, out of touch, windbags seriously. Anything to sell out the Country to uneducated, slave labor. It’s quite sad.

  7. MerlinOS2 says:

McCaine was a victim of his own mouth last night. I honestly believe he was trying to express that our country is open to immigrants, but his ill choice of words are being played for something else.

Having said that, if he is so inept to make that kind of cross word pollination of diverging concepts then it brings his credibility into question.

RASMUSSEN POLL june 4-5 800 likely voters
    Overall support for Immigration bill

    Favor 23%
    Oppose 50%

those that think it would be better for the country
    Passing bill 32%
    Not passing Bill 49%

There’s a lot of comfort in those numbers.

Better not read this blog site tomorrow if the bill doesn’t pass unless you are a glutton for punishment and just like to be called names. It’s gonna be bad. Us chicken littles are gonna be happy tho if they don’t get cloture.

    UPDATE:
The ICE Folks Took two, let 10 go!

Suspected Human Trafficing in Gaston County
Suspected human smuggling in Gaston County.

Police found 10 people believed to be illegal immigrants crowded into a van after a traffic stop.

But video from Sky 3 shows the surprising end to that traffic stop, nearly everyone in that van was allowed to walk away.

It’s something we’ve seen before, possible illegal immigrants allowed to walk free, even after they’re stopped by police.

WBTV’s Michael Handy brings us a full report.

    ——

Twelve Hispanics with no ID’s and no Social Security Cards.

Police say the group was travelling from Oregon to Charlotte, but they had no luggage and no real destination.

That’s when police called Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

An ICE Agent was dispatched but he arrested only two of the twelve and let the others go.

The van was impounded, so the group had no choice but to walk down the side of Highway 321.

No one knows where they went, but an immigration official says that in cases like this, the suspected illegals are let go because there isn’t enough manpower to arrest them all.

Even if there was, it is also hard to find transportation for twelve people, not to mention the lack of jail space needed to keep them.

Gaston County Police want to make it clear, this was not their decision.

In fact, officers are pretty upset because they have 10 undocumented Hispanics roaming the streets.

The driver of the van was arrested for driving without a license.

No word yet on what the second person is charged with.

You Just Have To Love America!

Stevevs, McCain is not a victim of his own mouth. He is a victim of his own myth.

I wouldn’t be too comforted, FE. There are some forces behind this bill that we will never know. Do NOT underestimate the potential for this bill to pass the Senate. Our best allies, at this point in time, are the unions. Proving that politics truly do make for strange bed fellows. I understand that the unions aren’t happy with this bill (I have no clue why) and they are putting the squeeze on the Democrats. If the pressure from the Unions doesn’t stop it, we always have the house.

I have personally called and emailed both of my Senators. If this bill passes, I don’t want to hear any belly aching from anyone who hasn’t at least called or written their Senators.

I still haven’t heard back from Senator Wyden re the questions I asked him. If I do, I’ll share what he says with the group.

  14. stevevvs says:

Gaston County Police want to make it clear, this was not their decision.

These Guys in Gaston County, as well as the Mechlenberg County Sherriffs are Certified in the Federal Program, so they take Interior Enforcement Seriously. And Both Sherriffs Dept. are headed by Law and Order Demacrates!
Unfortunatly, The Charlotte -Mechlenberg Police Dept. does NOT take this stuff seriously. In fact, a few months ago a Charlotte cop was repremanded for asking a Street Vendor, with no Street Vending License, if he were Illegal. It turns out he WAS ILLEGAL, But it was the COP who got in trouble, not the Alien.

    Only in America!

I emailed both of mine last night. I too, want to be heard!

Well papers do not run stories about illegal aliens saving people from drowning, or illegal alien risk life to pull old man out of building.

I’ll tell you, Jeff Katz goes of the air at 6:00pm, John Hancock, who I would portray as a mild manored moderate, has just gone off for 48 minutes on this McCain interview, Shamnisty, and every caller is totally outraged by both the interview, and this Bill. I guess, around here, folks are tired of the invasion. I normaly work Second Shift, and miss all this. I must say, around here, we have had it. I feel great listening to this right now! So glad I caught the McCain interview. He was on from about 5:37 to 5:55pm. I’m, he WONT come back for another Jeff Katz interview.
Sometimes Tough, Honest Questions kill future interviews!

  18. stevevvs says:

    biglsusportsfan,

I’m sure if they infact do those things somewhere, it will be reported. After all, most papers lean shall we say, left, and a story like that would help the Illegal Lobby.
It’s hard to find a Newspaper, other than the Washington Times, that calls them what they are: Illegal Aliens. Most prefer Undocumented Immigrant.

Kind of like Rain Forest instead of Jungle, or Wet Lands instead of swamp. Or Democracy instead of Republic. I don’t due P.C. The more we allow that stuff, the more we loose touch with reality and honesty.
