Bloomberg Goes Back To Being A Liberal
NY City Mayor Bloomberg is clearly a political charlatan. He puts on whatever mask suits his career goals. First he was a Democrat, then a Republican and now apparently an Independent. But through it all he has been a liberal:
ew York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg quit the Republican Party on Tuesday, fueling speculation that the billionaire will shake up the presidential race by running as an independent.
Bloomberg has been moving to raise his national profile for months, drawing attention to his support for gun control, stem cell research and steps to stop global warming.
Clearly he is not a conservative with stand like those. With that said, the nation is so fed up with the partisan idiocy from the left and the right an independent might actually win this time. I would bet on a Lieberman ticket with a more conservative moderate as VP (no, not Hagel or Bloomberg or their ilk, but someone like McCain). Bloomberg is way too liberal. Right now the distaste for both parties is at historic highs, so a run by Independents could work.
AJ believes the broad anti-war electorate would elect McCain
whereas even the pro-war holdouts of the GOP lost their enthusiasm for him long ago.
AJ bet on Libby too. And at least one 2004 Iraq War “turning point.”
