Iraqi Street Still Rising Up Against al-Qaeda

Published by at 8:39 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

al-Qaeda went on a kiling spree this weekend killing over 200 Muslims to show how they are so superior to the West. While we are all trying to work out how killing massive numbers of Arab Muslims is supposed to help al-Qaeda gain support, we can easult see what the real reaction is in Iraq and among Muslims. Take that small quiet village that wasbombed into oblivion killing over 150 people:

Ermeli – The darkness of grief gripped this Iraqi village on Sunday as black mourning banners, armbands, bloodstains and soot bore grim testament to a truck bomb attack that left 140 dead.

A day after the attack, the population was divided between shock and bitter anger.

Policemen guarding the entrance to the town wore black armbands and stony expressions, determined to face down the extremists behind the attack in which a truck packed with four tons of explosives detonated in a crowded market.

“I am at work today to retaliate against the criminals, and to send them a message that we are alive and we are on our homeland and we will fight al-Qaeda until the last drop of our blood,” he said.

“We will either kill them or they will annihilate us,” Hussein added, before launching into a slogan that underlined how the violence of al-Qaeda’s Sunni extremists has driven a wedge between Iraq’s rival communities.

The mayor of nearby Tuz Khurmatu said al-Qaeda had struck because Ermeli had been a peaceful village of Sunnis and Shi’ites from Iraq’s Turkmen minority surrounded by smaller hamlets of Sunni Arabs.

Tranquil, quiet co-existance of Muslims in a small village – apparently not what al-Qaeda envisions in its Islamo Fascist dreams of dominance and conquest. All al-Qaeda did was make another group of enemies in these killings. And the Iraqis are awakening to the reality that the real Great Satan is the bloodthirsty animals in their midst – not the Americans. And while Zawahiri makes a desperate plea for Muslims to join in creating more carnage among the Muslim homes, others are making calls for Muslims to rise up and kill al-Qaeda – if for nothing else but self defense:

Prominent Shiite and Sunni politicians called on Iraqi civilians to take up arms to defend themselves after a weekend of violence that claimed more than 220 lives.

The calls reflect growing frustration with the inability of Iraqi security forces to prevent extremist attacks.

The Muslim civil war we in the West need to see happen is now happening. Moderate Muslims are taking up arms to fight the Islamo Fascists. These moderates are allying with us and need our support. If the Muslim world throws off al-Qaeda then we will have a chance for reconcilaition and peace in this world. The only question now is who’s call to arms will be the bigger draw? My money is on the Iraqis and against al-Qaeda.

It will not take long to find out. al-Qaeda got their bloodbath weekend they wanted in the media in preparation for the report to the US Congress in a week. But the other side has not yet responded in kind. It could be an amazing ten days as al-Qaeda feels the revenge of the Muslim street is so bloodied this terrible weekend.

It seems that AlQaida believes it can terrorize people into submission. After all, it worked for Saddam. But this is different. Blowing up market places just to kill people for the sake of killing them is a threat to anyone who seeks anything other than anarchy.

I have to wonder however, how long will people allow big trucks to drive into market places?

At times I can’t believe the World I am living in.

Twice this year we are living in a a world where Politicans are doing a horrible job at politics.

First the immigration bill and certain segements of the GOP not looking at the long term

Now, all this talk of withdrawal by both sides when I have got to think they know it will create much bigger problems down the road

    It is insanity
