More Progress In Diyala As Shieks Sign Pact To Fight al-Qaeda
The wave of anti al-Qaeda sentiment washing through Iraq and the former areas of al-Qaeda influence continues as more and more Shieks sign accords to fight al-Qaeda, protect their localities and support the government of Iraq:
Eighteen of about 75 Iraqi tribal chiefs signed an agreement to fight terror at a meeting with Iraqi and U.S. officials northeast of Baghdad.
The leaders, who represent some 25 clans and 100 tribes, met in Diyala province on Tuesday, Kuwait’s KUNA news agency reported.
Provincial Iraqi military and police officials were joined by U.S. Army Col. David Sutherland, U.S. commander of Coalition Forces in Diyala. A statement issued afterward said the summit was to “discuss grievances between tribes, determine solutions for security and services, and unite to defeat al-Qaida and other terrorist organizations” in the province.
The wave continues to rise in Iraq and clear it of the Islamo Fascists, handing al-Qaeda a major public defeat to go along with the rejection of their brutal tactics which is also now sweeping the Muslim world. The Surrendercrats and SurrenderMedia got it wrong -again. The quagmire did not come about, instead we are seeing the possibility of a major success. Handing al-Qaeda an emergency exit from their coming demise is absolutely the wrong plan at the worst time. And polls will continue to shift on Iraq as our successes grow. There is no reason to accept defeat, let alone promote it.
