Iraqi Death Rate Cut In Half, Dems Would Have Allowed Deaths To Continue
The Surge is producing the one result the pessimists claimed it could never produce – protecting Iraqis. The theory from the Surrender-at-all-costs crowd is our efforts will be useless in a civil war. But if this is not a civil war but is the blood-thirsty, repression of Iraqis by al-Qaeda then we would expect to see a drop off in the deaths of Iraqis as we clear out and secure areas from al-Qaeda’s thugs. Well, that is exactly what is happening:
Civilian deaths from violence across Iraq fell 50 percent in September, in line with a drop in U.S. military casualties attributed to a boost in troop numbers, Iraqi government data showed on Monday.
Information from the health, interior and defense ministries registered 884 civilians killed in September, the lowest monthly total this year, down from 1,773 in August.
The casualties were also the lowest since Washington began pouring an extra 30,000 troops into Iraq as part of a security crackdown aimed at al Qaeda and other Sunni Arab militants and Shi’ite militias across the country.
And let’s be clear here. If the Democrats in Congress had done what their BDS crazed base had desired the killings and repression of Iraqis would NOT be going down. It would have gone up as al-Qaeda attempted to take over the country we were abandoning. Those 800+ Iraqis who did not die can thank Bush and the military for saving their lives. And the Democrats owe this country and the Iraqis an explanation about why they would have allowed, if not accelerated, the massacring of so many people? Are votes that important to Dems they would let 800 people a month die to get them? Are they also willing to accept American deaths for votes as well?
Good questions, but the answer is simple. Of course they (Dems) would. All that matters is power and control. Millions could die and they wouldn’t care a whit. This is the modern-day democrat party. Nothing matters but their power and control. Hopefully the fate of Gov. Tarken (episode IV) comes sooner than later…
Yes, votes are that important to the Dems. When a country is at war, nobody, and I mean nobody conducts the kind of personal smear campaign that the Dems have done to the military and the President, the leaks that have happened and on and on if the motive was not to get votes. There are ways to question with out smearing. I find their rhetoric disgusting and reprehensible. When one can not put the welfare of the nation before politics it is called something else.

I hope this trend continues.
