The Favs Of Right-Of-Center Bloggers

Published by at 11:17 am under All General Discussions

I am right of center, but I guess I’m barely right of center these days. Anyway, I was polled on who I thought would be included in a list of the most important people of the year. Three of my submissions never made the list and could not even beat out Tancredo, which shows probably what is wrong with America when you put voiciferous pols over people who sacrifice for this country. Here is my list I sent in via email:

If I had to pick people who I most admired this year it would be

Michael Yon
Michael Totten
Bill Rigglio

For their reporting on the truth about Iraq and

President Bush

For never folding on his convictions.

Here is the consensus list. The ones I support on the consensus list are Giuliani and Condi Rice (who do the hard work of leading), and maybe Limbaugh and Hanson for conservative reporting. The rest are fine people, but Yon, Totten and Rigglio have sacrificed much more to keep the public record straight on Iraq than anyone on the list. And the the military personal who have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan would hit my list before I could even consider a pundit, talking head or blogger (myself included). It seems the right as lost its focus on who are important to this country, verses who are famous. I would also have put Leiberman above many on the list because he faced the most challenges and yet kept his convictions AND won election. Guess I am just more centered than right!

I clicked on the link, and was pretty pleased with the list. My guess is most bloggers on the right are pretty open minded. They have listened to both side, read the articles these people have written, and most have baught and read many of these peoples books. And armed with knowledge they obtained by doing so, made there choices. Just a guess, but most of the people on the right I know read books. We don’t trust the MSM anymore, so we listen to radio, read books, and rely on alternative sources these days for info.
Clarence Thomas interview with Rush is on now!
I plan to buy his book as well.

    AJ,

I am rather pleased with your list. I don’t think folks will know what they had as President till the day he leaves. History will look kindly at a man who could have demanded the ‘purple’ on 2001/09/12 – and probably attained it. History will look kindly at a man who is preparing us not for a short and very deadly battle with Fascists, but a long battle to change history without total war. Had Neville Chamberlain been a Winston Churchill we would have averted WWII much like I think we are averting Total War by closing the gap in the Middle East. I am still amazed that the patterns of Bush’s presidency haven’t been spotted. Here is one: He is a good and decent man. Here is another: He is a leader. Here is a third: He will not kick the can down the road. They all tie together, eh…

As far as the bloggers you selected – inspired choices. Regretfully, they were probably overlooked because of the wording or connotation of the question. A whole lotta ‘pols’ ended up on the list when they should have been left off. Who needs them. They better change quickly or they will get dumped soon.

And, how does Ann Coulter end up near the top. Although I am more right-of-center than you I have no regard for her. To get my respect I want to hear actionable solutions to problems – not just smirk at a well placed political IEDs – that’s so 9/10.

    Thank you for your site.

Thanks for taking the time to drop the note – much appreciated.

Tancredo??? The man can even break 2% in his own party for the primaries. In the nation as a whole he does not even register, unless it is as a loon.

I like AJ’s list. Yon and Bush both have guts. I can not say that for just anyone. Too many people out there on the right do not have to be responsible for running anything but their mouths. The real job of governing is a lot more complicated than yammering on the radio or even on a keyboard. Yon as shown real physical courage as well standing his ground ethically.

  5. Terrye says:

That should be the man can NOT even break 2%.

I think Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin would both get a lot less support if they were 20 years older and weighed another 30 lbs.

To date, they have alienated more people than they have brought over. i know I vote Republican in spite of them, not because of them.

Malkin can talk about the war, but she has done a lot to try and damage Bush knowing full well what kind of effect that would have on the war on Terror, but she was too busy promoting herself to give a damn.

I was actually pleased to see George Bush place so high on the list. It looks like, for all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about how much Bush has “betrayed” them, a lot of right-wing bloggers still have a great deal of respect for the man, and that is a good thing.

I am glad to note that I do not read any of the blogs listed there except The Strata-Sphere and NewsBusters. I would classify the blogs in the list as ” loony” right. How could any one in the right mind choose Tancredo, Malkin or Coulter over Bush or Cheney? I can’t say it any better than Terrye:
“Too many people out there on the right do not have to be responsible for running anything but their mouths. The real job of governing is a lot more complicated than yammering on the radio or even on a keyboard.”

    Love reading your comments, Terrye!

I am an old woman and Ann Coulter comes across like a breath of fresh air. So many people are afraid to say what they think any more for fear of being labeled some kind of racist or phobe. When Coulter castigated Vichy France and it’s fellow travelers for turning on the US “after we spent a fortune to defend their sorry asses for the past 50 years,” she said just what I was thinking. The reason we are “hated” in Europe is because we expected them to reciprocate in our NATO common defense pact after the US was attacked. It was all right when we were defending them, but no European blood or money to defend the Ugly Americans. European participation in the war in Afghanistan is puny to say the least. Only the Britts have ocme thru.

As for Malkin, she is a doll and she says what most of us want to hear someone say. She speaks for the American People who have been forgotten. Nobody else considerers what is good for the American people anymore. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the MSM pussy foots around the truth for fear of offending some one or some group. Too bad it has to be a little bitty girl who is the only person with the “balls” to tell it like it is.

Too bad that Pugs as a group did not realize that little bitty girl was a one woman demolition squad. I put her right up there with the Spineless Congressional Pugs in being responsible for that last election. She is more responsible for painting us as Ugly than anyone else. And speaking of Ugly….I am still waiting for O’Reilly to take the challenge with his body language expert and put his own program to the test. The one that Malkin hosted. He knows the one. And she painted Bush as Ugly.

To such an extent that Pelosi actually said with a straight face that she was ‘praying for him’ about the children’s health care. Talk about the world upside down.

So why was President Bush not #1 on that list and certainly above a bookwriter Malkin? The Right Pundits have turned into a strange bunch with their priorities.
