Historically Low Unemployment – Bush Economy

Published by at 11:04 am under All General Discussions

Well, the leftist handwringers and naysayers can whine all they want, but the proof of Bush’s economic policies is his unending string of successful economic reports that have blessed this nation since the dark days of 9-11, and through two war fronts against Islamic terrorism:

Employers boosted payrolls by a surprisingly strong 166,000 in October, the most in five months, an encouraging sign that the nation’s employment climate is holding up relatively well against the strains of a housing collapse and credit crunch.

The Labor Department’s report, released Friday, also showed that the unemployment rate held steady at 4.7 percent for the second month in a row. It’s a figure that is considered low by historical standards.

Job gains were logged for professional and business services, education and health care, leisure and hospitality, and for the government. Those employment increases more than offset jobs losses in manufacturing, construction and retail — casualties of the problems plaguing the housing market.

The latest report on employment conditions around the country was better than economists were anticipating. Economists were forecasting payrolls to grow in October by about half the pace seen — around 80,000. They did correctly predict the unemployment rate would be unchanged.

History is telling the story of the Bush economy, and it is one of the best in US history. People from all sides of the political spectrum should learn a lesson from this.

Yes – a GREAT economy – if you don’t count the falling dollar, the stock market down 400+ points in 2 days, the growing sub-prime lending fiasco, the record levels of foreclosures, the rising cost of energy and the continuing loss of a manufacturing base.

Oh – and the 2.4 trillion dollars flushed down the rathole of Iraq, while the right labors mightily to incite another war with Iran . . . and then there’s the larger and scarier Pakistani crisis:

Extremists gain control in northern Pakistan

SWAT, Pakistan – Muslim extremists are expanding their control of northern Pakistan, challenging the U.S.-backed government of President Gen. Pervez Musharraf and adding to the lands where terrorists allied with Osama bin Laden find refuge.

Once restricted to pockets in the mountains along the Afghanistan border, radical mullahs and their followers now wield power in vast areas of northwest Pakistan. They have moved in the past few months beyond the tribal regions and into northern Pakistan cities and the Swat Valley.

There is some good news, though: the latest polling shows Bush’s approval below 50% in every state in the Union. There ARE no more Red States when it comes to the incompetent buffoon Bush.

  2. WWS says:

    waah waah waah waah waah!

your tripe is just too idiotic to be worth a serious response.

(AJ’s been posting forever as to why Pakistan is heating up as Al Qaeda’s last stand, too bad you just accidentally supported his arguement with your off topic link!)

Here’s a sure bet – you’re going to run and hide and refuse to post as soon as the stock market makes that 400 points back. Which it will and more before the end of the year. (Ever hear of a little thing called profit taking?)

    Waaaanh, Wah Wah Wah Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnhhhhh!

“Bootlicker”: So many lies to tell, so little time…..

The Anti-American/Pro-Jihadi Leftist Nutbag Traitor Lying Cus-Omac, and his latest Sockpuppet “Philadelphia Cheesesteak” is about to be CRUSHED again!

You’d have thought he would’ve learned his lesson, Oh, the last EVERYTIME he goes up against me; but then again, that’s making the following false assumptions:

    a) he has a brain
    b) he’s educated
    c) he actually cares about America and is Patriotic
    d) he actually can read, and understand FACTS
    e) he has a shred of integrity, honor, values, ethics, and morals.

Since NONE of the above are true, regarding “Bootlicker”; I just have to Spank him once again, like the idiotic Juvenile he truly is….

    a) Falling Dollar: Fallacy #1; it’s Bush’s fault! Fallacy #2, it actually matters! Typical Leftist Nutbag Traitor: when the Dollar fell to record lows under Clinton; it was GOOD for the economy! Fact is, it WAS good for the economy then, and it’s good for the economy NOW! The Euro is a hollow currency; Europe is the one with facade for an economy, except for Britain and Ireland; the rest of Western Europe is in the economic doldrums, and has been for decades. That’s what happens when you adopt Socialism, have cradle-to-grave Welfare States; take 3 months a year vacation, for everyone, stifle innovation and initiative, and import Illegal aliens dedicated to blowing you up, and beheading you, as your work force “safety net”!

Yep, just what “Bootlicker” and his Leftist Nutbag Traitor ilk want to establish here in the US!

The US economy, has created more jobs, in the past 15 years, than ALL of Europe, combined, in the last 50 years, by a factor of 3, by the way!

The falling Dollar by the way, is GOOD for the US economy, ALWAYS is, under Clinton, Bush, whomever; it makes US exports cheaper, helps the trade imbalance, makes the US more attractive to Investors and Tourists, etc., etc.

The Euro is way overvalued, and always will be; and let it be; the more the Dollar falls, the better it is for us!

Only a Moron Traitor like “Bootlicker” would actually fail to understand this, and also try to blame it on Bush!

    b) Stock Market down 400+ points in 2 days! Wow, that REALLY is Bush’s fault!

What a complete and utter ass-clown!

Stock Market goes up, Stock Market goes down; historical trends?

The Stock Market is up, 40% since Bush took office; WOW, 400 points up/down, due to speculation? OH MY GOD the SKY IS FALLING!

What a complete and utter ass-clown, AGAIN!

Hell, why do you care Traitor Nutbag, about the Stock Market anyhow? If it were up to Traitor Ass-Clowns like you, being the good little Socialist that you are, there would be NO “Stock Market” or private invenstment to drive the economy; that would be for “Rich People”; and Parasitic lumps on the ass of the working world like YOU, would just sit at home and collect your Dole checks every week, while breeding more generations of Leftist Traitor Nutbags to whine about everything!

    c) the growing sub-prime lending fiasco, the record levels of foreclosures…

    Ah, yeah…….Bush’s fault alright!

    Chirp…………….Chirp………………….Chirp………………

It’s Bush’s fault, that the Housing Market, as a result of the “Clinton Economy”, took off, people, in the TENS OF MILLIONS bought houses they couldn’t afford, took out bad and bogus Mortgages that even MORONS like you, should’ve known would come back to bite them, and now we have a Credit crunch, and record mortgage failures!

Yep, Bush forced EVERY SINGLE ONE of those McMansion buying Fools, to sign those papers, and BUY that damn overpriced, luxery house!

“Bootlicker” = Complete and Utter Ass-Clown!

    d) continuing loss of a manufacturing base…

    Yep; Bush’s fault alright!

Doesn’t matter that the US Economy started to shed Manufacturing jobs in 1978!

    It’s Bush’s fault!

Doesn’t matter that Manufacturing jobs, as a percentage of the overall job picture, PEAKED in 1998, under Clinton, and then started shedding Manufacturing jobs like CRAZY!

It’s Bush’s fault, even though that was THREE YEARS BEFORE he took Office!

Doesn’t matter that Economists, and Job Experts will tell you that the MAIN reason for the shedding of Manufacturing jobs, is in fact, the STRENGHT of the US Economy overall!

US Manufacturing Workers, due to improvements in Automation and training and education and, improve their Efficieny at an annual rate of 3.3% per year, far surpassing the average of 2.0% annual Efficiency for other job sectors in the US economy, and that THAT is the main reason the US Manufacturing base continues to decline.

Nor, does it matter, that China, has lost 20% of it’s Manufacturing jobs, due to similar improvements, and the Japanese have lost 16% due to the same, and even Brazil has lost over 20% of it’s Manufacturing base as well!

I guess that’s all BUSH’S FAULT as well?

    Isn’t that correct, ASS-CLOWN????

The other major contributor to Manufacturing jobs decline, quite frankly, is our Trade Imbalace!

    It is NOT “out-sourcing”.

“Out-Sourcing” has a neglible effect upon the loss of US Jobs; it’s just a Political football, for Ass-clown Leftist Nutbag Traitors like “Bootlicker”.

The trade imbalance, especially with countries like China, DOES affect our manufacturing jobs; as one can imagine.

And since Hillary and Bill, are BOUGHT and PAID FOR by the Chinese, I’m sure the Leftist Nutbag Traitor “Bootlicker”, is not going to point out that the major reason for out Trade Imbalance, is China, and all his fellow Welfare Recipient Socialist Leftist Nutbags, shopping at Wal-Mart with their Foodstamps and Welfare checks, buying up all those cheap imported Chinese-lead-painted goods????

That’s a bit too “inconvenient” to point out, isn’t it “Bootlicker”?

What a complete and utter Ass-Clown; and, by the way, CRUSHED again, by yours truly….

  4. Soothsayer says:

So, according to WWS, THIS is supposed to be some kind of good news??

Islamic militants paraded 48 men on Friday described as government troops who surrendered during fighting — an embarrassment to President Gen. Pervez Musharraf as he struggles to regain control of a mountainous region from Taliban and al-Qaida-linked extremists.

Adm. William Fallon, the chief of the U.S. Central Command, met with Musharraf and other top generals Friday to discuss the volatile situation in Pakistan’s northwest. Washington backs Musharraf as a bulwark in its war on terrorism.

We’re looking at a scenario in which Mushareff gets ousted, fundamentalist Islam takes over and suddenly has access to more nukes that Iraq and Iran ever dreamed of.

The violent political turmoil might force Musharraf to impose a state of emergency or martial law just when Pakistan is trying to transition to democracy. Some in Pakistan’s ruling party are pushing for martial law if the Pakistanti Supreme Court disqualifies Musharraf’s Oct. 6 election.

  5. WWS says:

blah blah blah blah – can’t talk about the economy, can ya?

blah blah blah blah – can’t talk about Iraq anymore, can ya?

blah blah blah blah – can’t talk about Valerie Plame anymore, can ya?

blah blah blah blah – can’t talk about Hillary’s “inevitable” win anymore, can ya?

blah blah blah blah – HA HA HA HA!!!!

  6. Terrye says:

    sooth:

The stock market has also hit historic highs under Bush. I have noticed that when it goes down it is Bush’s fault, but when it breaks records for increases we don’t hear a peep.

I do not know if you are old enough to remember the late 70’s and early 80’s, but I can . Back then people just wanted a job, they did not care about benefits or the 401K or anything else, they just wanted a job.

So when I drive down the road today and I see people driving nice cars and building houses that would have been considered mansions a generation ago and I hear that the numbers of people who have the means to invest in the stock market are at record highs, I know things are not as bad as the whiney Democrats say they are. They are just making promises they can not keep so that people will vote for them. And then what will happen?

I recall the Democrats raving about the price of oil when they were trying to get elected but they have done nothing about it once they got in office. And they have done nothing about the dollar either. But then again a low dollar is not such a bad thing when you need to sell products over seas either.

  7. Terrye says:

And as far as Pakistan is concerned, what are the Democrats going to do about that? Oh yeah, Obama says we invade.

  8. MerlinOS2 says:

Of course Sooth his so clueless he doesn’t realize like thinking people do who are in the market that the end of October is typically when mutual funds rebalance their portfolios and get rid of their dogs to take the capital loss and pick up their new shiny bright ideas.

History repeats itself, mainly when you flunk it. Alfred E Neuman.

  9. MerlinOS2 says:

Sooth like the rest of the clueless dems thinks he’s still running against Bush.

    More tinfoil!

  10. Terrye says:

    AJ:

I just got something in my email from someone who calls himself ken hoop. I did not read it but the header said something about my buddy AJ’s bans do not keep people from belittling his comments at Mike’s Am….

I did not see the rest of it because that would have meant actually looking at the email. I sent it into oblivion.

But they knew my email address. So whoever that is, don’t send me anything else. It won’t do you any good.

  11. MerlinOS2 says:

    Sooth

You graphic was posted on open left and cross posted to Kos land today.

That’s your source that you copied to neutral territory.

Watsa matter kid afraid to admit your crumby talking point feed is.

  12. lurker9876 says:

And for each of those states, the poll numbers surely had to be lower for the Democrats than for Bush. Ha!

  13. Hey “Bootlicker”!

Just got back from the Vet today; had to have the Cat neutered!

Now that he’s had his balls cut-off however, I’ve noticed a disturbing trend!

Whereas he was a good Conservative Cat when he had his balls; now, without them, he’s transformed into a Leftist Nutbag Traitor Cat!

    Can you imagine that?

Wonder what that says about you, and your anally-manipulated sock-puppet doppleganger, “Philadelphia Cheesedick”??

    Hmmmmmm?

  14. Terrye says:

    Dale:

I think Soothie might be a girl. Really. as in female.

  15. Terrye: I had “Bootlicker’s” background checked out ages ago by some “friends” of mine.

Trust me; It’ s a “guy”; or It used to be, before it became a Leftist Nutbag, and thus lost It’s testicles!

  16. Soothsayer says:

Dale – you couldn’t “check out” your own cavernous anus with both hands and a Ray-O-Vac . . . meanwhile:

Our “ally” in Pakistan has gone over the edge:

Pakistan’s President Pervez Musharraf has declared emergency rule and suspended the country’s constitution. Troops have been deployed inside state-run TV and radio stations, while independent channels have gone off air. Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry, who condemned the moves, has reportedly been sacked and is being confined to the Supreme Court with 10 other judges. It comes as the court was due to rule on the legality of Gen Musharraf’s re-election victory in October. The Court was to decide whether Gen Musharraf was eligible to run for election last month while remaining army chief.

If Musharaff cannot maintain control . . . by illegally ignoring the Supreme Court of Pakistan AND suspending the constitution . . . the next step may be the fall of the Musharaff regime and imposition of an Islamofascist government possessing nukes. More great work from the Bush State Department.

  17. Bootlicker: your latest post just confirmed mine above!

No testicles; but then, there was never any doubt, was there?

  18. Terrye says:

Dale, I will take your word for it.

  19. Terrye says:

    Sooth:

That is ridiculous. Even if Mushareff falls, why blame that on Bush? Are you saying that we should not have gone into Afghanistan at all? I don’t know any Democrats who are saying that. In fact the only Democrat who has mentioned Pakistan at length is Obama and as I said earlier, he was spoiling for invasion. Would that be helpful?
