Dems Against Exercise & Health

Published by at 3:37 pm under All General Discussions

OK, can we all agree the DNC is a waste of time and effort if their biggest complaint is Bush is too healthy?

The following is a fact sheet released today by the Democratic National Committee:

The White House this weekend announced that
President Bush received good news during his annual physical. Doctors pronounced the President to be in “superior” physical condition, which media reports attributed to his rigorous, six day a week exercise routine. While President Bush has made physical fitness a personal priority, his cuts to education funding have forced schools to roll back physical education classes and his Administration’s efforts to undermine Title IX sports programs have threatened thousands of women’s college sports programs.

“President Bush’s has dropped the ball when it comes to fully funding physical education in public schools and women’s athletic programs at the college level,” said Democratic National Committee spokesman Josh Earnest. “His personal habits indicate that physical fitness is not just fun and games for him. Don’t our kids deserve the same opportunities to be physically fit? President Bush should stop running from his responsibility and make sure that all American children have access to physical fitness programs.”

What in the world is the democrat party for? This childish rant about kids not being able to exercise? George Bush runs (or at least he used to). He rides bikes. He eats well and get’s enough sleep.

Where in the world is he stopping kids from riding bikes and running around????

Democrats – don’t come out with another major campaign message unless it has some true meaning and is a serious topic. It is better to just be silent than opening your mouths with this garbage.

Ed Morrissey has some similar comments, as does Michelle Malkin. Both have more links to follow on this low hanging fruit.

  1. AJ (or LJ?): The Chait LATimes editorial last week suddenly doesn’t seem so random–this is actually one of their “talking points” and Chait was pedaling it as an op-ed piece.

This is moving beyond unhinged to pathetic.

AJ usually, occasionally the webmistress LJ. I guess we can’t stop the dems from acting foolish, it is a free country…

  3. I know, but my worry is that as the Galley Slaves said this morning, that a “faltering Democratic party merely provides room for Republicans to get by without doing the intellectual heavy-lifting. I think most of us would agree that the marketplace of ideas works best when we have two healthy, intellectually vibrant political parties.” This is precisely our argument about academia–a one-party system is rarely a success.

    Ms Educated Pacyderm,

Sorry for the light posting and delayed responses. Just went through three days of constant meetings, dawn to dusk and had no energy to think. I agree we need a vibrant two party system. But the liberal fringe is repulsing the mainstream and killing off the democrat party as we knew it. A new party (maybe still called the democrats) will need to arise to challenge the reps from the middle left. This is not for certain but it will be pretty clear in the next two elections. If 2006 is another blow to the democrats in the Senate it will be nearly impossible to turn around the implosion. I am for a two party system, but not one where the liberal fringe is one of them.
