The Media And Its Blinders Continue To Cripple Our National Defense
The news media is supposed to run with solid stories with very little doubt to them – in order to stand up against legal backlashes. Think of it has publishing as if presenting a case in court. Of course this guideline can be blasted when bias and political agenda as we saw in RaThergate and the Beauchamp fictions. But there is another problem with this guideline – it can be used to pretend something is not happening or connected. It was this idea that there has to be solid proof, or strong evidence of proof, which led a lot of Iraq War nay-sayers in the SurrenderMedia to pretend The Surge was not having any effect. And they use this ‘guideline’ as a shield today to continue to raise doubts because the political process is doing what political processes do – debating ideas.
It is a pretty pervasive trick of “see no evil” that allows the fiction in the news media to miss a lot of what is happening in reality. For example, we have the continuing fiction from the far left that the second coming of Nixon – where he diverts all the nation’s intelligence assets to go after the loons in the leftward fevered-swamps – is more of a threat to America than the terrorists who are planning to get another 9-11 attack in on us.
But if someone wants to show the relevance and possible connections between stories, you cannot do that under journalistic ‘guidelines’. For example, you could not connect this story on surveillance:
Federal officials are routinely asking courts to order cellphone companies to furnish real-time tracking data so they can pinpoint the whereabouts of drug traffickers, fugitives and other criminal suspects, according to judges and industry lawyers.
…
“Most people don’t realize it, but they’re carrying a tracking device in their pocket,” said Kevin Bankston of the privacy advocacy group Electronic Frontier Foundation. “Cellphones can reveal very precise information about your location, and yet legal protections are very much up in the air.”
Well, thanks to the SurrenderMedia the terrorist now know how we can track their whereabouts when we need to. Now all they have to do is dump their phones when they are in the final stages of their attack plans and we will have no way to find them at the last minute in hopes to stop them. The news media is so damn obsesses with idea our nation will use our defensive tools against ourselves instead of the terrorists that they keep exposing those tools and making the useless. It truly is a crime.
Don’t believe this is a real concern? Well connect that story with this one and a I dare anyone to guarantee – on pain of death – there is absolutely no connection or potential need for a future connection:
Fort Huachuca, the nation’s largest intelligence-training center, changed security measures in May after being warned that Islamist terrorists, with the aid of Mexican drug cartels, were planning an attack on the facility.
Fort officials changed security measures after sources warned that possibly 60 Afghan and Iraqi terrorists were to be smuggled into the U.S. through underground tunnels with high-powered weapons to attack the Arizona Army base, according to multiple confidential law enforcement documents obtained by The Washington Times.
“A portion of the operatives were in the United States, with the remainder not yet in the United States,” according to one of the documents, an FBI advisory that was distributed to the Defense Intelligence Agency, the CIA, Customs and Border Protection and the Justice Department, among several other law enforcement agencies throughout the nation. “The Afghanis and Iraqis shaved their beards so as not to appear to be Middle Easterners.”
We have agents or supporters of al-Qaeda in our country. The odds pretty much dictate this to be the case. As with England, they may even be homegrown discontents feeding at the trough of liberal conspiracy theories and deciding now is the time to take the law into “the hands of the people”. Whatever their motivation or origin, the threats facing this country are real, and yet the SurrenderMedia acts as if they do not exist because we have no public proof of it. If they cannot personally experience something it does not exist. Which makes one wonder why the believe in neuro-surgery – since they can’t graps that act either, personally.
I can only remind the blinded SurrenderMedia we had no public proof of a hit on 9-11, we had rumors, theories and a lot of chatter which was of no help to us. We must start acting on the grayest of evidence and tips – long before they could pass muster has legally strong news stories. If the US is wrong about a threat then the person who was initially suspected is taken off the target list. It is our price of freedom to occasionally be looked at because circumstances around us might have triggered concern – or it is just our time to get the full monty baggage check at the airport. But if the news media does expose a defensive tool in our arsenal and the bad guys adjust and pull off a deadly attack, then the price in innocent blood would be horrific.
And that is our choice right now. The occasional wrong intel lead and some unwanted scrutiny, or the deaths of thousands of innocent people. I can accept the occasionally scrutiny to protect my family and others. I cannot accept the SurrenderMedia’s push for the next Pulitzer Prize at the cost of human lives. And there is not fictional 3rd option out there. Get over folks, Nixon ain’t resurrecting.
