Congress Leaves Town With America Disgusted At Their Incompetence

Published by at 10:33 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

Playing games with our troops in harms way, pretending the second coming of Nixon is more important than monitoring al-Qaeda and detecting any jihadists in America, completely effing up the entire congressional year with pouting, foot-stomping results that go nowhere, it is no surprise this Congress is heading into history as one of our worst ever – and I mean worst EVER. USA Today/Gallup has the latest poll numbers:

By more than 2-to-1 margins, they give the president, congressional Democrats and congressional Republicans unfavorable ratings in a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll released Monday. While Bush’s ratings have been poor for most of the past two years, the two parties in Congress hit new lows in the poll.

From the actual results we the Democrats (30-64) are being rightfully associated directly with the Congress they lead. The Reps are just as bad (26-68). The fact is Dems are screwing up royally and every is noticing. The GOP is still suffering from the image they gave themselves in 2005 and 2006. They have not shown the nation they have rehabilitated and are an alternative. We seem to be left with to dysfunctional options – unless we see a lot of new blood in the parties. Centrist leaning blood that can bring new ideas and options.

The left side blogs are trying to spin today on how Dodd did so great in delaying the FISA legislation into next year, but that is all just spin.

Reid put it on the schedule as a filler yesterday while waiting for the omnibus funding bill and all knew it was going to be bounced to next session since the extension doesn’t expire until February.

Right now the funding bill has to be done, terrorism insurance , SCHIP extension and other bills are needed to be done now before they go home for Xmas.

President Bush, Just declare a state of emergency
and postpone the elections until 2012.
Maybe by then somebody could find a decent candidate.
Sure don’t have no one at the moment.

The Senate just passed the amendment to the omnibus bill to fund Iraq and several version of Dem amendments went down in flames.

Now it goes back to the House for final approval.

AMT bill is next up tonight.
