Complex Military Operation In Bhutto Killing
It would seem the forces in Pakistan spooked by a possible Bhutto win include some elements of the Pakistani military or ISI, given the accounts being presented in the New York Sun today:
American and Pakistani military leaders are seeking to account for what may be renegade commando units from the Pakistani military’s special forces in the wake of the assassination of Pakistan’s opposition leader and former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto.
The attack yesterday at Rawalpindi bore the hallmarks of a sophisticated military operation. At first, Bhutto’s rally was hit by a suicide bomb that turned out to be a decoy. According to press reports and a situation report of the incident relayed to The New York Sun by an American intelligence officer, Bhutto’s armored limousine was shot by multiple snipers whose armor-piercing bullets penetrated the vehicle, hitting the former premier five times in the head, chest, and neck. Two of the snipers then detonated themselves shortly after the shooting, according to the situation report, while being pursued by local police.
A separate attack was thwarted at the local hospital where Bhutto possibly would have been revived had she survived the initial shooting. Also attacked yesterday was a rival politician, Nawaz Sharif, another former prime minister who took power after Bhutto lost power in 1996.
A working theory, according to this American source, is that Al Qaeda or affiliated jihadist groups had effectively suborned at least one unit of Pakistan’s Special Services Group, the country’s equivalent of Britain’s elite SAS commandos. This official, however, stressed this was just a theory at this point.
OK, it is just a theory and that needs to be emphasized. But it is also possible individuals with training and access to the weapons pulled this off. One thing is clear, it was an act to destroy Pakistan’s democracy and try and breathe life into the Taliban’s and al-Qaeda’s dying prospects. The recent bloodshed in Pakistan’s FATA and NWFP provinces, especially the Swat valley, had begun to turn the locals against the extremists. I noted in an earlier (now lost) post the endless bloodshed without any results had begun to undermine opposition forces in elections. This act of violence against a well-liked Pak leader may just accelerate the backlash.

As Benazir Bhutto was laid to rest today, confusion still reigns as to who actually arranged the hit.

Apparently the 7 doctors in the hospital found no evidence of bullets in here head? And the gov’t is launching an investigation as to why no autopsy was performed? Are these guys for real? if there was any doubt that this was an inside job the anwser is now abundantly clear.

AQ has their own snipers, it doesn’t require a military unit.
Remember all the heck raised over the CNN showing of the videos of their snipers taking pot shots at our troops.
If they were going to all the trouble of multiple snipers, from being that obvious and traceable they would have not thought twice about using an anti-tank missile or something to seal the deal.
I will check and hold on this story for now.
I saw pics of a discarded 45 like pistol weapon on the ground and there were not initial reports of multiple bombings just one.
Armor piercing ammo to the neck and head? Please that would nearly take the head off at the shoulders.
Who knows what weapon ws used? Seems unbelivievable a pistol was used. that said, the documentary on the arms markets in the Frontier areas is evidence enough that the weaponry is really not in question. As always it is more the logistics and the planning that probably fell to the purported “insiders”. Seems the focus should be on why no autopposy was performed, there is simply no excuse at all, especially since she isn;t yet buried? Raises serious concerns. Again thos lots of people who had an interest in seeing her dead have an interest in seeing her buried very quicklyso the progression ensues unimpeded. Where that road map takes us will be interesting.
As for A/P bullets, maybe that is why the doctors found no bullets, just big holes?
No it was consistent with bashing her head against the sunroof handle when the blast bounced her off it shattering her skull.
The two stories are just to far apart. Live coverage I watched only talked about one bomber now the new story talks about as many as one earlier to distract plus two at the time of the attack.
Let me see the holes in the car from the armor piercing ammo.

The stories are to far apart to try to get from one to the other, so now it’s which one is bogus.
Again there were 7 doctors in the operating room when she was admitted, (per reports) and one has to wonder who they are and if they speak. Agree the story seems like a wild fabrication and still it leaves open the question of why no autopsy? We are obviously both speculating at the moment as to exact cause, but it seems pretty clear that the twisted tails of how she dies point to a concerted effort to conceal facts. Why not march the doctors out and interview them – or are they under threat of death – or did they even examine her ? The truth will not get revealed because there are too many interests to protect.
How do we know no one else in the car was injured?
First it was bullets,m then its a handle and concussion impactthen shrapnel. Fair to say, since no one has seen xrays or pictures this is all pure inuendo.
Time better spent trying to figure ut who gets hurt the most if the turth got out vs who stands to benefit at varying degrees of magnitude if the truth remains concealed.
