al-Qaeda Losing Support In The Muslim World

Published by at 4:48 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

Note to Osama: you can only murder and torture so many Muslims before they stop supporting your cause. It seems all those Muslims Bin Laden’s goons killed have families and friends and tribes who are now seeing al-Qaeda as the enemy of Islam, not the future of Islam:

“There seems to be a greater indication on the part of people within Islam to question the vision of al-Qaeda and the future that they’re holding out,” CIA Director Gen. Michael V. Hayden told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence during a hearing on worldwide threats. He said al-Qaeda’s leaders are “being forced to enter into a frankly open dialogue . . . with the body of believers.”

Director of National Intelligence Mike McConnell told the panel that “the brutal attacks unleashed by al-Qaeda in Iraq and the other al-Qaeda affiliates against Muslim civilians have tarnished al-Qaeda’s self-styled image as the extremist vanguard.” He told the panel that “al-Qaeda has had difficulty in raising funds and sustaining themselves” over the past year since the Saudi government began arresting alleged al-Qaeda terrorists following attacks in that country.

Since this is a direct result of the Iraq war and the Awakening of Iraqis to the evil of al-Qaeda the Washington Post put the story on page A13. It should be front page headline news – al-Qaeda Loses Muslim Support! – along with polls showing huge movement of public opinion away from Bin Laden’s terrorists across the ME.

No more money + no more fighters = end of al-Qaeda. And we need to make sure this trend continues, which is why we need a Republican in the White House in 2009

    The problem remains: Stealth Jihad.

There are still other Islamic terrorists that continue to plot attacks against us as well as doing things under the table to surprise us.

What do you think about this?

A few years back, we captured letter from al-Zarqawi to al-Zawahiri, where he asked for the following:

    1. Clerics.
    2. Munitions.
    3. Funds.

My thought was that when you’re actually living out the Warren Zevon classic Lawyers, Guns, & Money, your life officially sucks.

What about the concept of Communication Thechnologies ? Lots of folks claim that devices like the Fax machine killed the USSR. Aside from families communicating with each other how about the Internet breaking the ties of the Koran???? Just wondering…

And there will continue to be for the rest of our lives, and that applies to anyone able to read this. There’s nothing we can do about that except continue to fight them as they identify themselves.

This truly is the “long war” – maybe by the 22nd century the threat may pass, but that’s about the best we can hope for. And there is no policy, no plan, no politician and no strategy that can change that.

Remember the terrorists who strapped explosives to the women with Downs syndrome? They’re dead. But at the cost of two Navy SEALS. Godspeed Mike and Nate.

Ditto…..Godspeed Mike and Nate. Looking at the pictures of those wonderful young men brings it home.

Dems are still in denial and half of our side acts as if Iraq will finish it. The UN is just sitting back and waiting.
