Surrendercrats Dreams Crushed In Iraq As Sadr Holds His Fire

You have to see the emails I get from the truly sick on the left to understand how disappointed liberals are today that Moqtoda Al-Sadr has decided to ‘give peace a chance’ – as John Lennon would put it. There may not be increasing bloodshed and carnage in Iraq, therefore Americans won’t be turning negative on the efforts of the military and President George Bush. Why? Because it seems we will have another 6 months of decreasing violence as the Surge and Awakening further take hold in Iraq, and dash the sick dreams of those who hoped for human carnage to save their politically dumb predictions that Iraq would be a failure for America:

Shiite Muslim cleric Moqtada al-Sadr ordered his Mahdi Army to renew for six months a cease-fire that has enabled coalition forces to concentrate on pushing al-Qaeda out of Iraq.

The militia’s half-year cease-fire, due to expire at the end of this month, will be extended, state television cited al-Sadr aide Sheik Hazim al-Araji as saying today. The cessation of activities will last for around another six months, ending on the the 15th day of the eighth month of the Islamic calendar, Shaban, which falls in mid-August, al-Araji said.

This is very bad news for the “surrender at any cost” crowd like Obama and Pelosi. Americans are not so stupid to realize that all the progress we have achieved to date can be undone if we try and pull out our forces too quickly to appease a few on the left who have been predicting failure for 5 years – never to see their dreams come true.

What this will be, in the run up to the 2008 election, is a year of progress and hope in Iraq as al-Qaeda is vanquished. And only insanely obsessed people, who made ridiculous and calculated predictions that the US had failed in Iraq, would propose acts to threaten this coming year of progress and peace.

There will be provisional elections the first of October. If the Democrats are lucky maybe there will be a bunch of mentally retarded suicide bombers showing up at the polls. I am ashamed to say I think they almost hope for such a thing.

Terry, you shouldn’t talk about the Tom Tancredo supporters that way!

    Oh, you meant in Iraq.

al-Sadr realized that we would beat the “Mahdi Army” like the proverbial red-headed stepchild if he decided to bring it, so he’s hoping for a Democrat victory in November.
