Clinton Has Exposed Obama’s Inexperience
Let me stipulate to one thing: if this were two Republicans squabbling, I’d be laughing my head off at the moment. And I can assure you a lot of them are.
The Clinton campaign has gotten so deep inside the Obama campaign’s collective head it just ain’t funny — or, depending on your political persuasion, it’s very funny.
…
This “monster” thing is a good case in point. That’s a pretty over-the-top thing for a key campaign advisor to say. But what it tells me more than that is that the Clinton campaign has these guys rattled really bad. Some of this is no doubt due to the fact that Power is a bit out of her element. She’s more from the academic/policy world than the political/policy world. But, again, rattled. The Clinton folks have been bashing Obama like crazy. Now they follow up by explicitly demanding that Obama fire one of his key foreign policy advisors and … how, long did it take? An hour? And she’s gone.
H/T to Karl at Protein Wisdom for this enlightening story. What this also shows is how weak the Democrat candidates really are. Hillary is decimating Obama one slice at a time, but she is not raising her own viability one iota. In fact what she is doing is making McCain look damn good in comparison.
Take that “red phone at 3:00 AM” ad which Clinton put out. While it was a great ad to me it really showed why McCain was the overall better choice. But it also said a lot about Obama. I posted on that ad earlier and noted it also showed how easily Obama can be spooked.
Two things are just stunning in the reactions to this. First off is how the media and Obama supporters call this fear mongering! It is just another variant on “who do you want in the oval office in times of dire emergency?†It actually is very well done and tasteful. It simply asks the viewer to think seriously about a serious aspect of voting. I don’t get why this ad scares people. It is just not scary.
But what Obama has done in response is the big failure. Instead of saying “yes, this is a serious discussion and this is why I can step upâ€. Instead Obama went out and cried “foul†as if he was actually spooked by the topic!
So Hillary spooked Obama and got him upset and reacting over the ad. But McCain took the glory, as Rasmussen notes in a poll specific to the ad:
The commercial was credited as one factor enabling Clinton to turn her campaign around in Texas last week. But, 42% of all voters said the person they’d most want to answer the phone was John McCain. Among all voters, 25% picked Clinton and another 25% named Obama as the person they’d want in the White House when a foreign policy crisis call arrived.
Hillary is stuck. Her best and only hope to nail Obama is on experience and it seems to be working. But when you look at experience across all three presidential candidates McCain dwarfs the other two junior senators. They just don’t have it. Hillary has a lot more than Obama – which is why she is succeeding in rattling him so well – but pales in comparison to McCain. Most people laugh at her claims of experience – as pointed out here:
Hillary Clinton had no direct role in bringing peace to Northern Ireland and is a “wee bit silly” for exaggerating the part she played, according to Lord Trimble of Lisnagarvey, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former First Minister of the province.
“I don’t know there was much she did apart from accompanying Bill [Clinton] going around,” he said.
It is probably becoming a broadly shared view in America, if only subconsciously, that Hillary’s claims of experience are silly, but she sure knows how to beat up on Obama’s lack of experience. Which all works out well for the GOP.
If she is the nominee all McCain will have to do is run a few “Holiday Inn Express” like commercials and she will be toast. Imagine if he used actors that look and sound like the Clintons. What a HOOT those ads would be.
The ads could be titled “White House Express” and show them with look alike world leaders with Hillary in the background tagging along and at the end she could say “I stayed at the “White House Express”. 🙂
This is all so much an inside baseball dodge that Hill is forced to use, since the Dems have painted themselves into a corner with all their PC stuff that has left so many valid areas to question somehow untouchable.
If the prime mover on the Dem side was ‘experience’, then either Dodd or Joe Biden wouldbe who McCain would be running against now.
Instead those two only ended up as deflection targets to keep Hillary questions to a minimum in the early debates.
If Hillary has insiders in Obama’s campaign HQ how come they haven’t zeroed in on the inaccurate details he conjures up to glorify his rhetoric. Such as : His mother and father were inspired by the courage of the Marchers in Selma Alabama (1965) and decided to marry and have him. He was born in 1961, 4 years before the march in Selma. AL. He also has said tht his father took advantage of John and Bobby Kennedy’s “airlift” and scholarship plan which brought young Africans out of Africa to be educated in the US. His father had to have come out of Africa before Kennedy became President if he was born in 1961. He definately had already been conceived in Hawaii before Kennedy took office. They are just little lies but if anyone calls his hand on it they will be labeled a ‘RACIST”. It seems to me that it indicates he is downright dumb. He is just another fiesty, charismatic, slick talking con man who has learned how to wow the dumbed down masses who don’t know anymore than he knows. Now that I know he is dumb enough to tell lies that can be checked out, I dont’ believe anything he says. And he definately isn’t smart enough to be President.
I believe his stories about his past just about as much as I beleive “Mohammed flew through the skies on a flying horse to the Temple Mount where he rose into Heaven.” Must have traded in his flying carpet. Since Obama has been caught in two lies already, why should anyone believe him when he says he isn’t a Muslim? It’s part of the religion to tell the infidels whatever is necessary to fool them. And Once a Muslim, always a Muslim. Enough said.
