Bin Laden In Toonland

Published by at 8:11 am under All General Discussions,Bin Laden/GWOT,Iraq

When I heard Bin Laden was going to make a big announcement on the anniversary of the invasion of Iraq I was curious as to what he would say. Would he threaten a new wave of atrocities against Muslims in Iraq? Would he threaten to take over Pakistan or Afghanistan? Would he tell America to get out of the Middle East or experience the consequences? I was even wondering if maybe he would announce who was killed in the recent missile attack in the lawless areas of Pakistan. He did none of that.

Instead he seems to have gone Looney Tunes over some cartoons. What’s that all about?

Where is the great visionary war of civilizations? Where is all the talk about the Great Satan and how America and Bush will be obliterated from the earth? No promise to evict the infidels from the lands of the Muslims. Nothing but threats about cartoons. Something has happened to our enemy – it seems their heart is just not in it anymore. Too early to say for sure, but prattling on about a cartoon in Denmark is not going to rally Islam to the cause and defeat the invading armies. Maybe they know something we are too afraid to ponder after all these years of battles and setbacks (and victories)? Something has changed if this is all Bin Laden wants to complain about on the 5th anniversary of the liberation of Iraq.

You think that since they just might not have Zawahiri overseeing the release of bin Laden tapes the quality of their message is suffering?

Since there isn’t any information in this tape that is newer than 2006, it looks like the archives might be getting a bit thin. If al Qaeda II was available, he could have personally put out a current, more threatening message.

I still think this might all be a game and the man might well be dead and gone. Well dead anyway.
