Obama Ditches Anti-War Left
I know a lot of people have imprinted their own hopes and fantasies on Barack Obama, and I can tell as reality peaks out from behind Obama’s well oiled PR charade there will be a huge let down on the left. Case in point today – Obama folds under McCain’s pressure and smacks down the anti-war left:
Barack Obama’s campaign distanced itself Saturday from a liberal talk show host who called John McCain a “warmonger†while introducing the Illinois senator at a North Dakota campaign stop the night before, after the McCain campaign called on Obama to denounce the comment.
Local talk show host Ed Schultz used the term to describe the Arizona senator while warming up the crowd in Grand Forks, N.D., before Obama’s arrival at the state’s Democratic convention.
“John McCain is not a warmonger and should not be described as such,†Obama spokeswoman Jen Psaki said Saturday. She added, “He’s a supporter of a war that Senator Obama believes should have never been authorized and never been waged.â€
Well, backstabbing the rabid anti-war left publicly like this should wake the far left up to the fact they are – again – pinning their hopes on a politician who will dump them the second he drops his hand when taking the oath of office. Why do these people think Obama is not willing to commit unambiguously to full retreat of our troops like Clinton is now? It is because Clinton knows Obama has no intention to make a promise to retreat. He is too honest compared to her. And so she parrots what the masses on the left want to hear and Obama folds to McCain.
Now just because I can see the writing on the wall doesn’t mean the left, blinded by their self-absorption and surrender-fantasies, will have a clue about what is going on. How else have they been so easily duped so many times over all these years before?
