Surrendercrats’ Denial Of Progress In Iraq Is Truly Infantile

Published by at 6:45 pm under All General Discussions,Iraq

How can any serious adult look at the shrinking footprint of al-Qaeda in Iraq and claim there is no progress there since The Surge and The Awakening swept Iraq and turned al-Qaeda from being Islam’s future in Iraq to al-Qaeda being an enemy of Islam in Iraq? (H/T Michael Goldfarb and the originals up at Long War Journal)

Look at the dwindling areas AQ has for the barest sanctuary and realize how badly they have been beaten to lose that much ground in a little over a year. There are even more stunning statistics than this here.

What kind of person can be so afraid of facing their mistakes they deny obvious reality? If you looked inside the mind of a Surrendercrat you see someone cowering from reality, who cannot face their failures, so demand others to fail instead. I’m sorry to be so blunt, but it really is pathetic when you realize these Surrendercrats aren’t even in harms way! They are so scared s-less they have to have it stop all together. Surrender at any cost/

Face your own mistakes. Al Qaeda was never more than 10% of the insurgency. The Sunni Awakening is a temporary alliance bought off by America which Shia government officials predict will lead to more splintering even as it has had accepted only 17% of the fighters into the Shia dominated army. Petraeus has been exposed today as having predicted a year ago Shias would settle their own differences in the South w/o American intervention. The last several days have proven otherwise.

“Political progress is so slow, halting, and superficial, and social and political fragmentation so pronounced, that the U.S. is no closer to being able to leave Iraq than it was a year ago,” according to the report released by the U.S. Institute of Peace (USIP) and entitled “Iraq After the Surge: Options and Questions.”

    Case closed.

Well, considering the black-feminist alliance in the U.S. Democrat party is also, as you say, “bought off”, I think we need a serious post Obama-Clinton split strategy in the U.S. as well.

    I know, I know — truth is “hard2take”.

I’m wondering, how many billions in pork spending did congress appropriate this last year to buy their elections?

    Truthy,

Did you notice that General Petraeus stated that ALL the surge troops will be home by July – on schedule?

Then there will be a 45 day study period to figure out what the force structure should be from that period onward.

    Truthy or Norm,

The surge was a surge. It was not, and will not, be permanent

    There is no ‘hidden draft’.

    We ain’t stealin’ oil.

    Iraq is becoming independent.

The Terror Turds in Waziristan are getting hit.

ALL metrics are showing progress. I will review CSPAN tonight, but I have seen no evidence – only opinion – from the Libs that show a slide in ANY metric they told us to watch. They were stupid enough (Senator Clinton) to complain that a 12 month goad wasn’t met in 6 months. Is that stupid or silly.

And the active duty ground forces in the American military have grown by 100,000 personnel since 2001/01/20. And, we have over 210,000 American trained Iraqi soldiers as regional allies.

This is good news for all of us who love war…….not you Norm or Truthy!

The senior militant, an Egyptian who used the nom de guerre Abu Ubaida al-Masri, recently succumbed to hepatitis, they said.

That would be in Pakistan, as in the caves of.

  6. Kathie: Hi, could you please post a link to that info you posted above?

    Thanks, R/dale

Predator missile strike? Delta Force hit-and-run deep behind enemy lines? Nope. Better:

The senior al Qaida operative who helped direct the 2005 London subway bombings and a plot to blow up commercial airliners over the Atlantic Ocean has died in Pakistan’s tribal region, U.S. counter terrorism officials said Tuesday.

The senior militant, an Egyptian who used the nom de guerre Abu Ubaida al-Masri, recently succumbed to hepatitis, they said.

AJ, are you familiar with Peter Zeihan from the Stratfor group? I heard him speak and he was fantastic on the subject of Iraq and Iran.
He said all the pieces are falling into place for a great and VERY positive setup for Iraq. He pointed out how what we thought in 1960 and 1980 turned out to be off.

As I understood him, he said that every time Iraq has ruled itself, so to speak, it has invaded Iran. So, Iran is actually in talks with the US to work out how our presence there will be handled for the next decades. And how brilliant it is that we will be there! He also pointed out how China is not a problem for us for multiple reasons but RUSSIA is.

And he said that this election year is influencing the truth. AND that HILLARY AND OBAMA are NOT GOING TO GET OUT OF IRAQ.

  9. ivehadit says:

And he said that Al Q ‘s goal was a caliphate…30 countries to be taken over to advance the caliphate. And that Al Q is essentially now over.

Awesome and as I have said so many times, G_d bless George W. Bush and THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, Mr. President. We owe you lifetimes of gratitude.

  10. norm says:

patreaus’s graphic doesn’t show the extent of irans increased influence in the region, nor the growth of al queda’s strength in the region. it shows the extent of civil war we are policing. i thought we were out to decimate al queda. you have a hard on for sadr and sistani. i do not htink they drove planes into the world trade center. stop looking at the trees and see the forest.

  11. AJStrata says:

    Norm,

You clearly are in such deep denial you won’t even admit what is in front of your face. What a joke.

  12. norm says:

aj…it is you who is in denial. you see a small, extremely fragile, probably un-sustainable, tactical success and mistake it for an over-whelming strategic victory. you couldn’t be farther off-base. there is no military victory. this is an occupation. we leave, or we don’t. if you believe the general and crocker there is no possibility of leaving in the short or mid-term future. that means continued u.s. deaths and continued us deficit spending. and when we finally can leave iran will have far more influence than they did before we got there. and yet you continue to cheerlead. that is a joke.

  13. ivehadit says:

I venture to say, Norm, that Peter Zeihan knows a LOT MORE than you do on the sugject of Iran’s involvement in Iraq…as in they are petrified of a stable Iraq…

And we, according to Mr. Zeihan, are working with them to settle the situation. Iran HATES Sadr because he has become a maverick, no longer their pawn. He is trying to get a religious “degree” to have ayatollah standing in Iran because he is only a gang leader as of now. Iran is using its own tactics to take out Sadr…

All in all, ya just nevah know who’s doing what to whom…Ya dig, Norm?

  14. norm says:

so what’s your point? what you said is that iran is a much bigger player in iraq than ever before. we gave them that. not a brilliant strategic move.

  15. ivehadit says:

No, Norm, Iran has always been a player. You are just plain foolish if you don’t know what Iran has been up to. They are a mountainous country. Per Peter Zeihan, their military uses most of it’s resources to take care of its own internal problems. So they can’t afford to have a powerful Iraq, which is our ally, btw (another brilliant aspect of the Bush Doctrine). They have NEVER been able to afford a stable Iraq.

And Norm, contrary to the previous administration, this administration knows who’s doing what to whom.

And frankly, the dems know the magnificence of the Bush Doctrine because they have fought like hell to save face by disparaging a republican president who will do down in history as a man of tremendous courage, conviction and character who changed the world.

  16. WWS says:

Those charts are amazing, especially the first one showing the difference in activity between 2006 and 2008. How can anyone miss the fact that Anbar, once the most violent part of Iraq, has been almost completely pacified? What is really surprising is to see that both primary AQ supply lines to Syria have been shut down – these were their lifelines. The only area that shows a slight uptick is around Kirkuk in the north, and the chart makes it easy to see why – as all the southern Syrian supply routes were shut down, this became the only avenue left into the country, and also the place where all surviving AQ members fled. Once this is shut down, they have no place left to go except back to where they came from. (Waziristan or Hell? is there a difference?)

  17. norm says:

i see. thats why bush and cheney have to hide when they visit iraq. and i don’t remember ticker tape parades for achmawhatshisname in baghdad before we occupied the country. i know it’s hard for cheerleaders to remember real goals, but the idea was that iraq was going to be the antithesis of iran’s theocracy. that is not what we are getting. period.

  18. norm says:

wws…yes back to where they came from before we let them in. brilliant. 5 years later, 4000 troops, two trillion dollars and we have a problem we created on the run.

  19. Boghie says:

    Norm,

You are worth listening too. Unlike the idiot dude who can’t quite figure out the Truth.

However, where do you keep getting the $2 Trillion dollars quote for war spending? I think you have mentioned that often.

The entire DOD budget for the past five years adds up to about $2 Trillion dollars. The war supplementals – funding for the entrire GWOT – are about $100 Billion dollars per year. Some years a little more, some years a little less. You can see all these numbers for yourself at the Monthly Treasury Statement. I would claim the Iraqi Theater costs us less than $500 Billion – which is about 3.4% of total Federal expenditures. Or, 0.7% of GDP. DOD (including the supplementals) spending is now about 18% of Federal spending.

So, how do you get to expensing $2 Trillion dollars on the theater of conflict in Iraq?

You aren’t talking about ‘reinvesting’ the entire DOD budget into a ‘peace dividend’ – are you?

  20. AJStrata says:

    LOL! Norm,

There is a string of successes which show a clear trend. Your infantile denial has no bearing on what happens in Iraq. None. All of it is in your mind trying to protect a fragile ego from the act you have been wrong all along.

But please keep showing why the left has lost their collective minds and are in no shape to lead this nation. Nothing will do more to bring upon the sea change in attitudes than vocal idiots demonstrating the depth of the failures.

Darwin was right my friend, natural selection dealt you a bad hand I am afraid.
