Able Danger, DoD Punts, Update XVI
This is actually very interesting, and one could say good news {hat tip Drudge]. I think the Pentagon is not going to try and white wash this.
Lt. Col. Chris Conway, a Pentagon spokesman, said Wednesday an investigation into Able Danger was under way.
The department “has been working to gain more clarity on this issue. Accordingly, we continue to interview a number of individuals associated with Able Danger,” Conway said.
Conway said it was too soon to comment on findings related to the program.
Why would Bush and Rumsfeld fall on their swords for Bergler, Clarke and Gorelick? Even Gen Schoomaker is probably worthy of sacrifice at this key juncture in history, where support for the Iraq effort is sliding a bit. If our men and women can put their lives on the line for our country, the pols and big wigs can put their Washington DC paychecks on the line too.
Get it right, get it into the open and let’s get to the bottom of this.
