Sorry for the light posting, but work comes first. Some really funny things were said today on talk radio. Now the folks saying them were not thinking they were funny, they were trying to emphasize the seriousness of the issue. I think those who care about this country not being attacked take it seriously, and those concerned with covering partisan behinds consider what actually happened a secondary issue.

So, I doubt I am going to change minds with these comparative comments, which are pretty good. Sorry, no links for these.

First, on the Jerry Doyle talk radio show (I have never heard of this person – sorry, not a big daytime radio listener unless I am in my car) Jerry is fairly upset about Able Danger and how it is another instance of Clinton falling down and setting us up for 9-11. Well, we shall see if those kinds of claims can hold up, but his comparative example of what is wrong here is excellent. His point is Lt. Col. Shaffer has recently lost is security clearance over $67 dollars of personal calls on his work cell phone (like you never get calls from the kids at work??), and that seems totally unreasonable in light of Sandy Bergler’s situation where he stole and destroyed code word classified documents related to his thoughts and notes during the summer 0f 2000, and he still has his security clearances.

Good point.

Second comes from Rush’s show, but it was not Rush’s comments or his show. It was sound bites from Fox & Friends this morning discussing Able Danger with Clinton whistle blower Col. “Buzz” Patterson, author of ‘Dereliction of Duty’. Someone asked the good colonel if he felt Clinton took his eyes of Al Qaeda, missed the boat as they build up to 9-11 took place. Well, Buzz (do you mind if I refer to you as “Buzz”, sir?) comments on the 8-9 unanswered Al Qaeda attacks during Clintons term. So far so good. But then he digs the knife in. He points out the Clinton had more private meetings with Monica Lewinski than either his CIA director (Tenent 2, Woolsey 0) and FBI director (Freeh, 0 [I believe]). Now for all Clinton’s claims about being obsessed with Bin Laden (a sound bite Rush had from Larry King) you’d think he would have checked to see make sure he could back it up!

Ouch! That’s going to leave a mark (when Hillary sees him tonight, if she sees him tonight).
