Clintons Will Do Anything For Power

Published by at 9:05 am under 2008 Elections,All General Discussions

I think the funniest part of this election season is watching the left wake up to the realization that the Clinton’s will say and do anything for political power.  That is what many people outside the leftward fever swamps said all during Clinton’s disastrous two terms (where he started with all three elected bodies in Democrat hands and left with the GOP in control of all three bodies).  Just check out some of the fun from just today!

Here is Andrew Sullivan flabbergasted that Clinton is fighting on:

The Clintons know no respect for rules or propriety or restraint in the pursuit of power. But Clinton’s latest speech in Florida should cause even veteran Clinton-hating jaws to drop some more:

Now, I know that Senator Obama chose to remove his name from the ballot in Michigan, and that was his right. But his choice does not negate the votes of all those who turned out to cast their ballots, and we should not let our process rob them and all of you of your voices.

How do you respond to a sociopath like this? She agreed that Michigan and Florida should be punished for moving up their primaries. Obama took his name off the ballot in deference to their agreement and the rules of the party. That he should now be punished for playing by the rules and she should be rewarded for skirting them is unconscionable.

I am reminded of the quote from Pirates of The Caribbean where Captain Barbosa says (paraphrasing here): “they’re not actually rules. They’re more like guidelines”.

Anyway, Jonathan Chait cannot believe Hillary’s arrogance either:

Hillary Clinton’s rhetoric today about counting the results in Florida and Michigan is simply incredible. Her speech compares discounting the Florida and Michigan primaries to vote suppression and slavery:

This gambit by Clinton is simply an attempt to steal the nomination. It’s obviously not going to work, because Democratic superdelegates don’t want to commit suicide. But this episode is very revealing about Clinton’s character. I try not to make moralistic characterological judgments about politicians, because all politicians compromise their ideals in the pursuit of power. There are no angels in this business. Clinton’s gambit, however, truly is breathtaking.

Well, maybe the eyes on the left have finally opened up, but this is not surprise to most people who watched the Clinton hatchet jobs over the years.  Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. The only shock is why people keep forgetting this.  And this is why the Democrats are heading to disaster – they cannot appease Clinton out of the race.

I find the media’s surprise surprising. They can’t have been so out of touch with reality not to know what the Clintons are. The truth is the media has found a new cause and are pumping it for all they are worth. And the truth also is the media is no better than the Clintons and never have been. They are stuffi;ng this guy down our throats 24/7 and are not investigating him at all. On the contrary they gloss over all his fauz pas. This attitude of the media is all contrived. They are trying to force her out of the race in case she might win. I wonder who the media would support is it came to McCain vs Clinton? If I were the media I would be be ver, very afraid. The Clintons have long memories and unique methods of revenge.

In another “Pirates of the Carribean” quote, the goal and leading premise of the Democrat Party is spouted during a toast at a Tortuga bar: ‘Take all that you can get, and give noth’n in return!’. Yes. Sums them up nicely!

AJ said; “they cannot appease Clinton out of the race.”

That is hilarious, I am cleaning the coffee of my screen. You mean the Obamessiah may actually have to Beat Her? Oh parish the thought. Reason and diplomacy will not work with her? With the shear power of his messiahness she will not capitualate?

Wonder if the BO messiah will learn anything from his first venture into high stakes diplomacy….

  4. AJStrata says:

    Tom,

Sorry about your screen. I will try to behave (won’t work, but I will try).

  5. Soothsayer says:

Not to worry, AJ. She’s not going anywhere near the Oval Office. Even better news: SUSA polling has Obama up 7% on McCain in Virginia!

It’s going to be a long road to November for one as old and infirm as the Crazy Old Cootâ„¢.

Time will tell. Personally I think that if people like you get out there and start flapping your gums about how the American military has killed 700,000 Iraqis it will really help destroy Obama. The left usually comes through for the Repubicans in the end. They just can’t help themselves. People like you are a gift to the GOP.

And btw, McCain just might beat this guy. What will you and your ilk do then?

  7. Terrye says:

Oh look, McCain ahead in Missouri. Isn’t it true that no one has ever lost Mo and won the White House? I think so.

  8. Terrye says:

I don’t know, if the Republicans can hang the gas prices on the Democrats it might help. After all, they are too damn busy sucking up to the environmental lobby to worry about the American consumer.

I know that Obama lies and says he does not take money from lobbyists, but 60% of the lobbyist money is going to Democrats this year.

Since they took control of the Congress oil prices have doubled.

  9. Soothsayer says:

Funny thing, Terry, the Intrade Futures Market, where people put down real $$$, has Obama leading McCain 57.7 to 38.5 %, with McCain down 1.5 today.

And that’s before the news gets out about McCain stabbing the vets in the back and voting AGAINST the GI Bill, which passed the Senate by a stunning 75-22 vote.

    As CBS reports:

What was most surprising was not that the domestic funding amendment and the GI bill won a majority of the Senate votes, but that half of the Senate’s 49 Republicans bucked President Bush and GOP presidential candidate John McCain to back the dramatically expanded GI bill. Many uncertain Republicans stood in the well of the Senate, taking their time to make a decision. Virtually every GOP senator who is politically vulnerable this year voted for the domestic spending, including Sens. John Sununu of New Hampshire and Roger Wicker of Mississippi.

This means that McSame can’t even get his OWN party to support his and George’s anti-troop stance on veteran benefits.

  10. Soothsayer says:

And Terry, regarding Missouri, did you notice McCain has dropped from an 8% to a 3% lead in the LAST MONTH? How long do you think the Crazy Old Coot will last when he actually has to campaign?

Claire McCaskill will deliver Missouri in November, even if she has to do so over the drunken carcass of Kit “Jim Beam” Bond.

I agree with AJ’s original comment that Democrats opinions about the Clintons has diminished significantly in this primary. They really have shown there true colors.

Barbara’s comments about the media being biased against Clinton, however, doesn’t make sense. Obama had the primary wrapped up long ago but for the media’s desire to keep it going so they had something to talk about. Why else would they declare her the comeback kid after declaring her the winner of Texas (which she ultimately lost in terms of delegates) and Pennslyvania when everyone, including Obama’s campaign, predicted that she would win those states anyway. As for the claim that the media is giving Obama a pass, how many times do we have to see Rev. Wright’s video clips played over and over by the media to understand that is not the case.

Speaking of Rev. Wright, it looks like McCain increasingly has his own Wright problem in the form of Hagee. Seems that videos of Hagee sermons in which he claims that God sent Hitler to kill the Jews is finally enough for McCain to distance himself. Here is what is being reported about it right now:

“Republican John McCain rejected the months-old endorsement of an influential Texas televangelist after an audio recording surfaced in which the preacher said God sent Adolf Hitler to help Jews reach the promised land.

“Obviously, I find these remarks and others deeply offensive and indefensible, and I repudiate them. I did not know of them before Reverend Hagee’s endorsement, and I feel I must reject his endorsement as well,” the presidential candidate said in a statement issued Thursday.”

McCain’s attempt to distance himself three months after the endorsement might have worked had McCain not known about all of the other bad things Hagee said, such as referring to the Roman Catholic Church as “the great whore” and calling it a “false cult system.” He also has linked Hitler to the Catholic church, suggesting it helped shape anti-Semitism and said Hurricane Katrina was God’s retribution for homosexual sin.

It is true that this is all too wonderful watching the Clinton’s turn their conspiracy machine from the right on to the left. I thought living to see Reagan exalted was enough but now with the Clinton’s the world is moving too quickly! Usually you have to wait decades for the grim details to be laid bare by future historians.

Ah, sooth if I were you I wouldn’t read McCain’s response to Obama’s grandstanding on the Senate floor this morning as regards the GI bill. It will be very painful.
McCain lays out very clearly his position, a position that will win him votes, while filleting Obama’s cluelessness. For your viewing pleasure, if you so dare, I have included a link

    http://embeds.blogs.foxnews.com/2008/05/22/obama-and-mccain-spar-over-gi-bill/

Don’t be surprised that after Bush vetoes it changes might be made.

  13. Terrye says:

    Soothie:

Yeah, I noticed. I also noticed that back at the first of the year Obama was ahead. And then McCain started to pick up. Notice that?

The point is Soothie, it is months before the elections, none of these polls mean that much. But what the hell, keep hope alive. Just a keep a low profile if you want your guy to win. People like you would be just about as helpful to Obama as Jeremiah Wright.

  14. Terrye says:

    conman:

There is no comparison between Hagee and Wright. Spin all you want.

  15. The Macker says:

    Conman,
Trying to pin Hagee on McCain to counter O’bama’s Wright problem is desperate .

McCain was not in Hagee’s church every Sunday for years, nor did Hagee instruct him and baptize his children .

    Failed attempt.

    Soothie,
What would you or O’bama know about GI benefits?

And the cute nicknames for the political leaders you fear , fabricating statistics and wrapping yourself in meaninglessly early polls can only be for psychic satisfaction.

    Could you say irrelevant?

  16. 75 says:

Damned right, Macker. The left’s gameplan has become so tiresome and repetitive that it’s like they have a holster on their hip full of “ifs and buts” they can quickly draw from. Even if Hagee was worse than they claim, and even if McCain were a loyal member and supporter of him which he is not, how does that absolve Obama of his relationship with Wright?

The left has many immediate responses to any charge but comparing skeletons in each other’s closets doesn’t rid yourself of your own skeletons. It doesn’t even point out the hypocrisy of your opponnet. It just shines light on your own hypocrisies…which are legendary for the left.

With every leftist claim you see more and more clearly why the left needs a dumbed down populace to promote their policies. And dumbed down is exactly what they’ve created.
