We Fight Them Over There, Not Here
Anyone who has doubts that the Bush policies regarding the Global War on Terror, including Iraq, are not protecting us needs to check out this story – and seriously contemplate its meaning. I do not mean think of rationalizations to ignore it, I mean think about what it could mean if this is happening day in and day out.
U.S. Customs authorities blocked a Jordanian man from entering the country 20 months before he was accused of carrying out an Iraq suicide bombing, according to an internal Homeland Security memo obtained Wednesday.
…
”While it is not clear that al-Banna was a suicidal jihadist, the basis for denying him entry was that CBP (Customs and Border Protection) officers that interviewed him believed his intent for entering … was inconsistent with the purpose of his visa,” wrote Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Robert C. Bonner.
This man tried to enter the US and was rebuffed because of our new efforts to block access to our homeland. And what could a poor diverted terrorist do? He went to Iraq to blow himself up killing Arab Muslims – making it harder and harder for muslims to buy into the jihadists lies and violence. As long as jihadists are killing fellow muslims in the ME they are losing their support. The minute they hit us here they gain support.
This is not speculation. If this happens once a month, where a terrorist is either forced to divert from the US or decides it is too risky and then heads to Iraq, that means 12 terrorists die fighting our military and not killing innocent men, women and children here. Assuming a terrorist could take out only 20 people, that means 240 lives saved here if we divert one terrorist a month. And what if it were one terrorist a week? That would be 1,040 lives saved here in the US.
Think about it.
