I live in one of those districts where there is a blue dog. If he had been more progressive, he would not have won. That is what this joker overlooks, it was the blue dogs who gave them their majority. And a lot of that upopularity has to do with issues like the deficit and high gas prices. No help from the left there.

Dear Aj,

You are correct in your analysis except for the part about 2006. From my post on "American Thinker":

A Democratic year? How do you figure? Because the New York Times says so? Look at 2006! Yes, let's look at it. In the preceding 6 midterm elections where the incumbent President's party lost seats the average loss in the Senate was 6.1, in the House 29.33. In 2006 the Republicans lost 7 in the Senate and 30 in the House. Pretty ho-hum.

You are not alone in your take. It seems to be the conventional wisdom. It never ceases to amaze me that conventional wisdom has such a short memory.

Regards,
Roy

Greenwald fails to mention the overriding commitment of the Blue Dog coalition is fiscal discipline. Bill Foster ran as a Blue Dog to win Hastert's CD.

Litmus-tests on everything RULES with the Kos kids.
