Another US Strike In South Waziristan?

On July 28th what appears to have been a CIA/Special Forces Predator Strike on a compound in South Waziristan took out 4 key al-Qaeda leaders using 3 missiles. On August 13th another probable Predator strike hit South Waziristan using four missiles. To date no details have ever been reported on who was killed out of the 20+ fatalities reported.

Last night there may have been another US strike on South Waziristan according to this strange and unconfirmed report:

According to a private TV channel, two US airplanes while violating Pakistan’s airspace on midnight of Friday and Saturday dropped five bombs in border areas of South Waziristan but there is no repot of any loss of life. After the bombardment of US planes, there were also reports of shelling from Base Camp of Afghan National Army and Pakistan Army retaliated strongly.

It seems clear there has been a significant escalation in the war against terrorists hiding out in the tribal areas of Pakistan. Still awaiting to hear if any new high valued targets were taken out – keeping fingers crossed.

It certainly seems like either our intelligence is getting better or we have loosened the rules of engagement somewhat. One would think that after seven years of flying over that area with drones, we would be on a first name basis with every rock, twig, and goat in the entire region.

Roggio is reporting that the Pakis might have nailed a major Taliban commander in Pakistan.

    Uhm … yay!

Oops, wrong story in the above. Meant to link this one over at the Jawa Report, not the one at Roggio’s site.
