The O-Bomb And The Tepid Conservatives

Published by at 2:08 pm under All General Discussions,Sarah Palin

Interesting reading today on Obama’s Pig O-Bomb. The left can’t believe anyone would be insulted (but many women I have seen are royally pissed). And the right is concerned chauvinism is dead and ugly.  Here’s my take.  The left is deep in Maccac denial. And the right is making the same tepid mistake with women that allowed them for years to be too afraid to select someone like Sarah Palin to run on a national ticket. My opinion is women admire John McCain for having the guts to take the risk and go with Palin. Confident women have no problem when men join in with their outrage and defend their honor.

I could care less who the low blow is aimed at, I defend those being smeared when I see it. I don’t hesitate simply because the one being slammed is a woman. I stand by good people regardless of their sex. This is just treating people as equals and demanding a modicum of human decency and respect.

Don’t be shy to stand up to Obama and his deniers concerning his juvenile and sexist bad joke. We won’t be insulting Palin or women by simply saying that it was wrong and bad form.

BTW, I understand Palin totally ignored the event – as she should. It is all really beneath her.  But I am also sure she and her family are grateful for all those standing on her side. I would be.

AJ, I don’t quite understand where you are coming from. There are a lot of McCain-Palin supporters out there on the blogs chastizing these slime-merchants on thier own turf in the comments section. Also, the McCain-Palin campaign is out there using Obama’s words against him, like this ad: (sorry, link broken. I guess the Clinton Broadcast Service (CBS) got the ad pulled from You-tube. Try here at Ben Smith’s blog: http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0908/CBS_takes_down_McCain_webad_suggests_its_misleading.html?showall) I agree with the campaign to ignore the bloggers. The guy to hit is Obama. Just wait until he opens himself up by using one of those ‘talking points’, then slam him with a combination shot. Sinking to their level will only drag us down.

Well, I would ignore and give him the benefit of the doubt except for two things. (1) He made the comment about the lipstick and then he made the comment about “the old fish stinking”. Of course you can take these comments two ways but the people behind him took it that he was insulting both McCain and Palin so he got his dig in either way. (2) On two occasions (same speech-same gesture at the same time in each) he shot the bird at Hillary. It is as if he thinks he can go as far as he wants and not get called on it. He does these things and then says his opponents are taking this wrong. It is a pattern. The arrogance of this guy is unbelievable.
