McCain * Palin Rally in Northern Virginia

It was well worth taking a day off of work and to be down in Fairfax, VA at 7am. Due to luck and planning, we were one of the first people to get into the event and managed to get up really close to the front. We saw speeches from the Mayor of the City of Fairfax City, Congressman Tom Davis, Orson Swindle (POW with McCain), Democrat small business owner (now avid McCain supporter), Lynette long (former Hillary Clinton supporter), School board member, Congressman Frank Wolf, Fred Thompson (surprise guest), Cindy McCain, Gov. Sarah Palin, Sen. John McCain.

Lynette Long was the only speaker to mention Obama’s sexist comment: “You can put lipstick on a pig, and its still a pig.” She said:

Yesterday, I understand Senator Obama personally said, ‘you can put lipstick on a pig and it’s still a pig. Well Mr. Obama, Mr. Obama, calling girls names is something you do in fifth grade and I don’t want a fifth grader running my country.

Then Fred Thompson’s speech got the crowd really going:

I agree the lawyers and investigators should head to Chicago and see what Obama has hidden. Fred also repeated that running for office does not qualify them to be in office (paraphrased).

When Sarah Palin took the stage the crowd went wild. Chanting “Sarah! Sarah!,” “USA! USA!.” She was the star of the show. And I was impressed with her shoes. If you look at most female politicians they wear ugly, plain, black, conservative, low heel shoes. Take a look at Sarah’s:

Now, there is a strong woman who likes to wear HIGH heels!!

And to answer Merlin’s question, there was not a big name band there to draw the crowd. The candidates drew that big of a crowd all by themselves. There were even local politicians there to support McCain and Palin: Congressmen Tom Davis and Frank Wolf, Attorney General Bob McDonnell, former Attorney General Jerry Kilgore, candidate for Congress Keith Femian, candidate for US Senate Jim Gilmore, former Senator George Allen, along with school board members, local city committee members, state senators, and state delegates.

It was an absolutely amazing day!! And just cements my backing of the the ticket even more!

Hey, we finally find out that Obama did head the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, where he oversaw the spending of $150 million to improve the public schools of Chicago, but had little impact.

Given that this is his only executive experience, it’s easy to see why Obama perfers leave it off his resume and just take a pummeling for not having any executive experience, rather than admit he headed a failure.
