Cross, I was playing with an interactive electoral map last night, and McCain is getting very close to having it locked up.

Start with the states where McCain is solidly ahead today - add Ohio and Florida, which both look like they are breaking solidly for McCain now. McCain just needs Pennsylvania and Virginia to seal the deal. (Rasmussens 259 total for Obama gives Pennsylvania to him)

And if McCain - Palin do well in the debates and pull in the less likely swing states - michigan, wisconsin, minnesota, new hampshire, washington - then this could turn into a 350 electoral vote blowout. But McCain could lose all of those and still win if the gets Pa. and Va. McCain has several ways to get to 270 - Obama is going to have to run the table of the remaining battleground states to make it.

I think I know why Team Obama is getting desperate.

"The Rasmussen Reports Balance of Power Calculator shows McCain leading in states with 200 Electoral College votes while Obama has the edge in states with 193 votes.. When “leaners” are included, shows Obama leading 259-247"

McCain finally pulling ahead in electoral votes. He is still behind with "leaners" but it is nice to see McCain finally making progress on the electoral vote category.

I've been reading at Gateway Pundit about the dems being in charge of the supoenas in the trooper/Wooton case.

The dems are suicidal on this one. I am not going to say how but just this:
bring it on.

As we used to say in the sales business:

*A desperate salesman is a dead salesman*.

LOL!!! How that shoe fits the o!

This latest ad by Obama shows how crass and small he is. It can't possibly help him in any demographic other than his koolaid drinking youthful voters or the rabid base he already has.

A commentor on another site said McCain should put out a response ad with just a simple ROTFL. Just a bit of humor.

McCain should have his response ad out Monday morning sticking it to la'Bama.

Biden should get a pass on his gaff, since it was truly an innocent mistake and could have happened to anyone.

Via Forbes on McCain

H/T Powerline

In certain ways, McCain was a natural Web candidate. Chairman of the Senate Telecommunications Subcommittee and regarded as the U.S. Senate’s savviest technologist, McCain is an inveterate devotee of email. His nightly ritual is to read his email together with his wife, Cindy. The injuries he incurred as a Vietnam POW make it painful for McCain to type. Instead, he dictates responses that his wife types on a laptop. “She’s a whiz on the keyboard, and I’m so laborious,” McCain admits
