Very, very insightful response "Cato Renasci". From my home town I witness wealthy, traditionally dem. supporting social circles shifting to the republican camp for unclear reasons. I'm not sure if I think that news like this is better left ignored, or if it should be heeded in order to anticipate future endorsements.

In the recent Siena poll in NY Jewish support for McCain went from 50-37 in favor of Obama in August to 54-32 in favor of McCain this month.

That is a 35% shift.

Actually, she knows it when she sees it. See my post above, she's just a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey who has done very well for herself, parlaying good looks, brains and an eye for the main chance and making money into the highest New York circles — first legal (Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, via Pomona College and Columbia Law) then political/Jewish/Democratic social (marrying Andrew Stein), and now the highest social levels (marrying into the Rothschilds).

That is too the funny the Marquessa de Rothschild says Obie is an elitist. (Hope I got her highness' title right).

Maybe their constitutents will wake up and realize their party leaders and influential backers are so far removed from what that party claims to stand for that they will actually turn off the part of brains that only functions on the BDS frequency and start processing reality.

Notice the common theme amongst all these miscreants is a background in the legal world....and they whine about those lawyer jokes. Most stereotypes have some basis in fact.

That too is what I read,

http://patdollard.com/2008/09/hillary-blindsided-by-scheduled-event-with-palin-and-chickens-out/

Clinton aides were furious. They first learned of the plan to have both Clinton and Palin appear when informed by reporters.

“Her attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event,” said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines. “Sen. Clinton will therefore not be attending.” (Editor: She’s full of siit. The organizers are in no way partisan, and it wasn’t a partisan political event for Hussein and McCain to both show up at a 9-11 event. All she had to do was be cordial to Palin, and then do the “Phck Ahmadinejad” thing. What’s the problem, other than she knows she looks like dried up yesterday next to Palin’s tomorrow? Or was this some way for her to hurt Hussein that I’m not understanding yet?)"

That's Pat Dollard! Doesn't mince words!
You can read a bit more about Obama for Iran or is it Iran for Obama?

I knew Lynn Forester slightly in the early '80s when she was at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett (Cy Vance's law firm). She is a nice Jewish girl from New Jersey who has done very well for herself, parlaying good looks, brains and an eye for the main chance and making money into the highest New York circles -- first legal (Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, via Pomona College and Columbia Law) then political/Jewish/Democratic social (marrying Andrew Stein), and now the highest social levels (marrying into the Rothschilds).

This would not be happening unless open support of McCain-Palin has been deemed acceptable by the "powers that be" in the highest level of Jewish, Democratic, financial and Society circles in New York.

What I think this means is that significant players within those circles have concluded that an Obama victory would be bad news for them - their businesses and their influence, and perhaps even for the larger economy. It also may reflect an assessment that Obama is going to lose anyway, and that the best positioning for the future is Hillary in 2012 after a single term McCain Presidency. Thirdly, if they think McCain may well win, it is also a bid for influence in a McCain administration, to protect their own interests and to move him to the left. This is a mid-range tactical, not a long-term strategic, shift.

The last time I saw such a huge shift in these circles was probably 1980, when many moved to Reagan, or 1992 when otherwise Republican financial types decided it was OK to support Clinton.

Check John Batchelor's website. If John is right and he usually is, both Sarah and Hillary will be at an event with Bloomberg and they will shake hands.

Then John McCain will introduce Sarah at UN.

Then John McCain will meet Bill Clinton at some event.

Ya think the Clintons are shifting gears?

Boy, the liberals are getting unhappy with the Clintons.

Think this move in addition to Lynn has to be a major blow to Obama. He has lost the momentum for good.

Hi AJ,

I notice the media are trying to spin up an Arctic Ice story.
The ice almost melted as much as last year,
means there's more ice this year than last year.
Still, they're trying.
Maybe it's a portent of an Obama victory, an omen
showing the oceans will start to recede even if he comes close
to victory.

Sarah Palin's emergence on the scene is making all of this possible. Because she's a woman, she gives liberals "permission" to jump ship.

Let's face it, when we were losing in Iraq, liberals risked nothing to oppose the war, now that we've won, there are twenty-six million elephants in the room, this too is a factor. The high-ground is only (re-) attainable by moving over to the side of the winners.

It's no longer "cool" to be a lib.
