Jawa Report Traces Palin Smears To Obama Camp – Updated
To coin a phrase, when Obama said “the gloves were coming off” he clearly meant that the dirty tricks ‘sock puppets’ (people who pretend to be other than they are on blogs and websites in order to post fake and fradulent information) were going on. And he and his campaign just got caught with their hands in the sock puppets. BTW, Clarice Feldman did a great piece in Astroturfing by Axelrod and Co. a couple days ago, check it out.
Major Update: Ace of Spades played team Obama to the hilt. Aces spider web was simple – warn the Obama camp a major story was coming (I believe this came out in the middle of the night) and then watch the action. As Ace notes the middle of the night story caused Winner & Associates people to start cleaning their tracks – all done before 2:00 AM. Clearly the word went out from team Obama, who does watch the blogs on the right, to Winner & Ass. (maybe the new name should be Losers & Ass.) to clean their tracks. Let’s make this clear, 90 minutes to clean up the traces. Â That is 30 minutes to review the Jawa Report details, confirm them and wake people up, and 60 minutes to delete videos and close accounts. That is just about right – I think these guys nailed Obama, Axelrod and W&A! – end update
The folks over at Jawa Report have been digging into who has been behind the smears against Sarah Palin and her family, and they have discovered electronic telltales leading back to a major PR firm (which explains why these smears sound like bad TV commercials) with links to the Obama camp.Â
Our research suggests that a subdivision of one of the largest public relations firms in the world most likely started and promulgated rumors about Sarah Palin that were known to be false. These rumors were spread in a surreptitious manner to avoid exposure.
It is also likely that the PR firm was paid by outside sources to run the smear campaign. While not conclusive, evidence suggests a link to the Barack Obama campaign. Namely:
- Evidence suggests that a YouTube video with false claims about Palin was uploaded and promoted by members of a professional PR firm.
- The family that runs the PR firm has extensive ties to the Democratic Party, the netroots, and are staunch Obama supporters.
- Evidence suggests that the firm engaged in a concerted effort to distribute the video in such a way that it would appear to have gone viral on its own. Yet this effort took place on company time.
- Evidence suggests that these distribution efforts included actions by at least one employee of the firm who is unconnected with the family running the company.
- The voice-over artist used in this supposedly amateur video is a professional.
- This same voice-over artist has worked extensively with David Axelrod’s firm, which has a history of engaging in phony grassroots efforts, otherwise known as “astroturfing.”
- David Axelrod is Barack Obama’s chief media strategist.
- The same voice-over artist has worked directly for the Barack Obama campaign.
This suggests that false rumors and outright lies about Sarah Palin and John McCain being spread on the internet are being orchestrated by political partisans and are not an organic grassroots phenomenon led by the left wing fringe.
In my mind there is a clear indication Jawa Report is on to something, the telltale electronic trail is being cleansed since the post went up:

If “eswinner” isn’t Ethan Winner of the Publicis Groupe, then why did “eswinner” yank the video so quickly? Or if this was just an innocent homemade ad, then what does he have to hide? You’d think he’d want more attention for it.
Dr. Rusty Shackleford, who runs Jawa Report, seems to be onto something here – though, like the links reader SBD found between Troopergate and a Union in the tank for Obama and against Palin, the media will ignore because it has elevated political agendas over professionalism. But electronic trails cannot just be ‘deleted’. There is always a record of the entire path some where, and these PR fools should have known a tech-savy blogger would back up website images and details before going public with a report.
I truly wonder if there are any professional journalists left in the country to investigate these things?
Update: Ace notes how the smear merchants tried to cover their tracks, proving beyond any doubt what their intentions were. Real grass roots efforts don’t need to delete evidence of their views and opinions. More fun at Riehl World.

The question is, will this apparent blatant violation of campaign finance laws get properly investigated and prosecuted? If there is anything there (and I would bet there is), then Axelrod and Obama need to be arrested and perp-walked sometime in the next six weeks.

There is a smear or whisper campaign saying that Sarah Palin is a charismatic Christian which is a real anathema among some to most Roman Catholics and will give them pause about voting the McCain/Palin (like the person who told my wife). Can we get someone to help dispel/clarify her religious views and what going on with the Olbermann’s hit piece on her church?

yup. She admitted attending the church for a short period and then leaving because they were “too extreme” for her. Nothing wrong with that. I would probably do the same. I would imagine that one’s choices of churches might be limited in that part of the country. It isn’t like living in a major metro where one can find a congregation of just about any sort.
This would be the extent of the major choices.
Although I am not Roman Catholic, many of my friends and relatives are. What I’ve observed is that Roman Catholics and charismatic Christians are much closer to each other on issues such as abortion than either are to the more “mainstream” (ie, liberal) protestant churches.
I do honestly believe that today’s Roman Catholics view other denominations as their allies, not their enemies. Leftists who don’t understand Christianity still think they can stoke up the old 16th century animosities. But now christians of all denominations understand that the secular humanist beliefs of the modern left are the true enemy of all believers.
If your wife has a serious concern of faith about this, I would direct you to have her study and reflect on the lessons of Mark 9:40 and Luke 9:49-50. They both address this issue.
Note to PJO – anyone who watches Olberman is in danger. There is not a more unadulterated purveyor of pure hatred operating today. It is not something you should expose yourself or anyone you care about to.

The friend and my wife are the product of the good old Baltimore Catechism (both have twelve years of it) who look at Charismatics as extremist. I will try to have her look at the passages after I have a chance to look at them myself. As for Olberman, I am pointing out that someone posted his latest smear on Sarah Palin and her affiliation with some preacher that have hosted at the church, I could only watch the first minute of the clip before I my BS meter pegged out. All of us here at this site know what sort of a whackjob Olberman is but those people who don’t know any better would not be to thrilled with this report.

Check this guy out. Winner and Associates “consultant” who lives in 90210 contributing to just about every dem campaign on the planet. I also found some more stuff too.
So the campaigns pay him to “consult” and then he funnels part of the money back into other campaigns. That is how it works, folks. Obama gets support from other politicians by hiring people and organizations who funnel part of Obama’s campaign contributions into other campaigns. Obama gets 9 million from Babs, pays Winner a million, Winner pays their employees a “bonus” which is then “donated” to supporters of Obama.

Yeah, Ace of Spades has done some great work on that, Crosspatch. Looks like the “Winner” gang use a huge host of sockpuppets to try and flood the internet with “grassroots” videos, even though they are actually hired guns working for Axelrod, Obama’s campaign manager.
Now I don’t think the Catholic video that Vince posted is part of that, that one is pretty non-political although I think the “Support Life!” issue comes through pretty strongly.

The whole thing about Catholics will just go no where. I am a Catholic, or at least raised Catholic, and nothing I see from Palin would make me not vote for her. Yes, we do think some of the Pentacostal, Evangelical, and other Churches are strange, but that does not mean wewould never vote for any of them. Also Palin left the Church for being too wierd.
Some Catholic Churches are even stranger than the one in Alaska, just look at the Liberation Theology Churches of South Africa, they are Catholic, but in name only really. They are just Marxist fronts, just like Obama’s Black Liberation Theology Church.

The key point is that the Obama campaign made a concious choice to secretly ignore all the campaign rules and it got caught. The Jawa Report has proven that the Obama campaign has made covert and thereby illegal attacks on Sarah Palin.
The consequence of this is that the reporting laws, and almost all campaign laws not related to voting, will be so openly and constantly violated as to be unenforceable.
Obama is far more vulnerable to this sort of attack, given his past and left wing political connections.
All the nutball techies waiting in the wings have been given the licence, and more importantly the money, from Republican 527s to lurch into action.
I fully expect fake You Tube videos of digital “Forest Gump” Obama’s in the fore ground applauding during Reverend Wright’s “God Damn America!!†sermon. I also expect digital image Obama’s shown snorting cocaine or consorting with (fill in the blank). Those demons have been unleashed.
And an election landslide against Obama is becoming possible.
