The liberal media has been taking a pounding for years now. Some of their crowning acheivements were RaThergate and The Downing Street Memos, where they used cooked up false evidence (in the second case self made) as news to try and promote their political agendas. They also exposed critical national security efforts in a grotesque plan to try and put their own candidates into office.

And they have been sort of paying a price for their recklessness in lost revenues, etc. But the top of the heap have not really. And whatever price they have been paying seems to embolden them to make up more lies, tilt the news more. They are a group who sees themselves (a) under seige by those evil average Americans and (b) the only hope to save the country and the Planet. This last part is the dangerous part. This last part is one of those worrisome traits they share with likes of al-Qaeda and other oppressors throughout history. Hitler and his thugs did what they did under the rationale their actions were for the better of their people.

In a very disconcerting peak inside the news media, Glenn Reynolds reports on what his happening inside the news rooms across this nation:

A READER AT A MAJOR NEWSROOM EMAILS: “Off the record, every suspicion you have about MSM being in the tank for O is true. We have a team of 4 people going thru dumpsters in Alaska and 4 in arizona. Not a single one looking into Acorn, Ayers or Freddiemae. Editor refuses to publish anything that would jeopardize election for O, and betting you dollars to donuts same is true at NYT, others. People cheer when CNN or NBC run another Palin-mocking but raising any reasonable inquiry into obama is derided or flat out ignored. H/T The Anchoress. While this post’s title may sound alarmist and exaggerated, it really isn’t. It may be all too accurate. The glee you see in these glimpses into the news rooms is the enjoyment of revenge on America. You can see it on the faces of the liberal media, in the joy-hate in their writings. You can see it in how they are attacking their primary target of spite: Governor Sarah Palin.

The question is will it work? It could, too many people have historically not focused on the elections (more on that in a moment) until the last minute and allow the media to shape their views. I for one don’t trust any one source and prefer to get a cross section of reporting and then try and filter the reality from the spin and propaganda. Recently it has becomed very difficult to nearly impossible using US news sources.

The fact these people are enjoying their bloodless coup d’etat is a real concern. They are openly and without much concern violating the trust of the people and probably a few dozen laws. But they are also violating what it means to be America. The concept in America is to debate the issues, facts and proposals and decide as people which path to take. That simple and elegant concept is destroyed when one group corrupts the communication of the issues, facts and proposals.

These liberal propagandists know they are doing this – but their feelings of being besieged and disrespected seem to be playing into their warped minds now. They see no barriers to what can be done to win. And I have no doubt the liberal leadership led by Obama and Ayers are any different in their mindset. They will do anything (lose a war, tank the economy) to win.

What if Speaker Pelosis deliberately hyper-partisan speech was more than a partisan’s lack of self control? What if it was a deliberate provocation which she knew would send the House GOP to the exits? What if it was a plan to sink the economy and blame the GOP. I mentioned before that someone who hates the American system has no qualms in using and abusing it to destroy it. Why is it surprising to see liberal business leaders like those running Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pocketing all this money while decrying the system?

I am with the Anchoress here in my concerns. We have seen Obama petition law enforcement to silence his critics already. When he has control fo those resources he will be free to do much worse to his critics. And the anger on the left is about to the point where they are preparing to use civil disobedience to get their way. They want a revolution – bloodless is simply an option.

Again, will it work? I know the liberals want revenge. There are liberals in my own family who cannot wait to shove something in smug conservative faces and make us feel the pain of being rejected. That is why this thing is running on hate and it seems Obama is only speaking to the Kos Kids. But is that America?

The Democrats wanted to surrender Iraq, but public opinion swung away from them. Democrats want to keep gas prices high so as to finally socialize transportation – but public opinion swings away from their bans on oil drilling into our reserves. Democrats seem more interested in pointing fingers on the financial crisis their policies and allies created (Bush call 17 times to reign in Freddie and Fannie, Clinton did, McCain did, etc). So far public opinion is holding – but can it hold?

All the other times America woke up to the game and opposed the liberals. We have smacked down the news media and their tingly legs before. The problem now is the news media and the liberal fanatics are going for broke and don’t care how they win and what it does to this nation. The rest of us may be too unaware of the rising tide of anger coming under Obama’s coattails. The rest of us may have been too optimistic and too forgiving on the motives of these people, chalking it up to the fever of the campaign.

What if this is not misteps of a fever but actually cold, calculated efforts to win power and pay some people back while they save the world from itself? I think this week will tell. The problem zealots have is they over play their hand. They get so excited they might win they become more desperate and wild in their actions when the see the goal posts in sight. al-Qaeda did this in Iraq and turned the entire Muslim Arab street in that country against them.

Will the American trigger be more sensitive than in Iraq where they waited until their way if life was physically threatened to act? Will we react at the obvious and gleeful coup d’etat inside the liberal propaganda rooms which used to be news rooms? Or will we need to see more curbs on our nation’s greatness and our personal rights before we react? Will “speeking to power” still be admired in a Obama administration with truth squads running the streets?
