Your right. Who's dumb idea was it to promote a junior senator from Illinois, not even finished his first term, to be nominated for POTUS?

Ya gotta love it. Yes, I can read but maybe just can't understand?

Who said she didn't 'pass muster'? There is not a thin dime's difference between the elite of Miers and the elite of Palin.

Forget it. Do not answer that. I know the drill. The elites had nothing to do with it and Mier withdrew her name. Bush was dumb to even consider a small time Presidential lawyer (from Texas) and we should hide them like the crazy relatives in the back room.

Enter Sarah Palin.

I think that the reason so many people are ignorant of history is because so many people have bad memories or bad egos.

The Frum's of the world are probably still taking credit for killing the Miers' nomination and people like "owl" still believe them. Nothing could be further from the truth. Although Frum contributed to the destruction of the Republican Party, he and his ilk did not kill the Miers nomination. Miers did.

Poor Harriet was a default pick by GWB. The President desperately wanted a woman for the Supreme Court. Alas, all the best qualified women took their names off the list. I remember that Edith Clement took her name off the list for personal reasons. Harriet was going to get a Judiciary Committee hearing and both Specter and Leahy were in favor of giving her a hearing. But her questionnaire was so poor that they had to concede that she was not qualified enough to obtain a hearing. To this day I believe Harriet would have been confirmed in spite of the furious attacks from the far right if she could have passed muster.

So much for the purity wars.

So, to find out more about Kathleen Parker, I went and read one of her columns. It just happened to be about Obama and his position on infanticide. She kinda starts out by conceding that Obama probably 'isn't in favor of' infanticide.
Why give him the benefit of the doubt? She didn't do that for Sarah Palin. The problem is, Obama said he was for infanticide. he may not have used that word, but he said he was in favor of not saving an aborted baby, even if it is born alive, because it might infringe on a woman's right to an abortion. That, Mrs Parker, makes him in favor of infanticide. No, she doesn't understand the feelings of 'the people' that Sarah Palin is 'one of us'.

THANK YOU AJ. For naming names and especially for including the biggest one of them all...............David Frum. He gave them ammo again and I am subjected to seeing his mug on TV again.

Our very own elite idiots never understood that one. It was as if they lived in a different world than the one I occupy. I could list the Who's Who of that little fiasco, but I won't because they know themselves. Many of these same newly elected elite Pugs lead the charge on Katrina and cronyism as they beat their hair shirts. They were smarter. Miers and Bush were just plain dumb.

Sarah Palin is the best thing that has happened to this party in a very long time. The only thing I ask of her is to show up as the PRO-AMERICAN. She can hire a dozen smart lawyer/politicians when she needs them. She only has to show the instincts to protect HER family and therefore has enough common sense to protect us all.

Just enough common sense to 'get out of the rain'. Is that asking too much from Washington and all these elites?

The last thing this world needs is another slick politician.

breschau - but she’s our idiot, dammit!”

and guess who "our" idiot is?
Aitch748
I must admit, I’m getting as tired of some on the right (what you might call “the fair-weather base”)
Yes, I'm voting for McCain... come hell or high water. Nothing the 'in the tank' press can say will change my opinion.

Maybe I just didn't pay attention, but I didn't know 'kathleen parker' before she became the village idiot. Nothing anyone says about her is going to raise her standing, it's all downhill for her from now on.

Why is Kathleen Parker trying to sabatoge the McCain campaign?

The Political Industrial Complex doesn't like what John and Sarah are going to do to them! Expect more of the Kathleen's to emerge...

Allow me to introduce myself. I am a traitor and an idiot. Also, my mother should have aborted me and left me in a dumpster, but since she didn't, I should "off" myself.

That opening statement above is proof positive that Clinton Democrats are voting for Palin!!

For B's benefit

The Spice Girls are:

Scary : Melanie Brown
Posh : Victoria Beckham
Ginger : Geri Halawell
Sporty : Melanie Chisholm
and
Baby : Emma Bunton

There was no member called "Bible Spice" and your attempt to
extend the most successful all female band in rock history to somehow
tarnish Sarah Palin is, quite frankly, pathetic.

I must admit, I'm getting as tired of some on the right (what you might call "the fair-weather base") as I am of the Mediacrat/grifter class running things in DC. Specifically, I'm getting pretty sick of the tendency to reject people the minute they start having trouble. On the first week, Governor Palin was "Our Sarah"; a couple of weeks later, after a less-than-stellar interview with Katie Couric, and suddenly Governor Palin is just awful, awful, awful. I keep wanting to say, "Hey, if Governor Palin was so awesome a couple of weeks ago, how about giving her a little support during a bad week instead of making noises about bailing on her?"

As Sarah Palin said in her interview with Hugh Hewitt journalistic ethics are no longer what I was taught when I was in journalism school ie there are none.

Brescgay

If you are under the impression that repeating your garbage so many times changes anyone's mind on this site you are mistaken. You aonly admit your ignorance when you call Palin an idiot. You called Geroge Bush an idiot and he outsmarted the dems time and time again. Go back to your dear leader and admit failure.

Sometimes a "Shorter AJ" shows the writer's poor reading comprehension and inability to abstract. breschau is a fine example of same.

Kathleen is not so much the traitor as she is a quitter. To call for the number 2 on the ticket to resign over one interview would be a fatal weakness if conservative voters felt that way, and we don't.
