Donna Brazile should be ashamed of herself for backing this radical. But I can't say I'm surprised..she did so much for New Orleans. Not.

Momentum is building for McCain. I keep visualizing the tanks massing and soldiers marching with McCain/Palin leading the charge!

There’s just too much stuff that is very damaging, but not known (unless you’re the kind of person that reads political blogs, that is)

Yep. Hello. I know at least 20 people who will vote Dem. They read their papers and catch the news but they did not read that city-journal article yesterday. I did. It will take something very, very simple and effective to change their vote. Something that cuts through everything they have seen to date about Hussein Obama. These people would be horrified if they saw the guy (forgot his name) pointing at Ayer's house and saying he and his friends tried to blow up my house when I was 9 years old. BTW, Hussein Obama lives there. The guy that sold him that strip of land is being sentenced later in the year. All those Nation of Islam peeps are down this block.

If this is the plan, someone needs to figure a way to cut through MSM or not enough will believe you. After all, he was 8 yrs old.

In a post last night, I argued that there is no historical precedence for Obama. There’s just too much stuff that is very damaging, but not known (unless you’re the kind of person that reads political blogs, that is). Much of the commentary for what happens normally during an October leading up to a Presidential election just doesn’t apply. In the past, all of the major, game-changing, information was out there well before this point in an election. People talk about Johnson, for example, and his poll numbers. The average person didn’t find out on October 15 1964, that Johnson was close friends with a member of the Communist Party USA or something like that. Undoubtedly, such a revelation would have changed a vote or two. The media, in its push for Obama has potentially created just such a scenario. If the media flood light is turned on Obama’s life, it will be devastating.

Although 100% anecdotal, take a look at this post on NRO:

Here is a start to the pivot on Ayers and education:
http://www.city-journal.org/2008/eon1006ss.html

"...the New York Times...article explored the putative relationship between Ayers and Barack Obama during the time they worked together on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, a five-year philanthropic venture that, starting in 1995, distributed over $160 million in school-improvement grants to the Windy City’s public schools. Ayers wrote the grant proposal that secured seed money for the schools and ran the implementation arm of the project; Obama became chairman of the board that distributed the grants. Not only did the Times exonerate the Democratic presidential candidate of having anything like a “close” relationship with Ayers—their paths merely “crossed” while working on the Challenge, the paper said—but it also bestowed the honorific of “school reformer” on the ex-bomber. “Mr. Ayers has been a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, the author or editor of 15 books, and an advocate of school reform,” the article maintained. On Meet the Press Sunday morning, Tom Brokaw—who will be moderating tomorrow’s debate between the presidential candidates—picked up this now conventional wisdom and described Ayers as “a school reformer.”

Calling Bill Ayers a school reformer is a bit like calling Joseph Stalin an agricultural reformer. (If you find the metaphor strained, consider that Walter Duranty, the infamous New York Times reporter covering the Soviet Union in the 1930s, did, in fact, depict Stalin as a great land reformer who created happy, productive collective farms.) For instance, at a November 2006 education forum in Caracas, Venezuela, with President Hugo Chávez at his side, Ayers proclaimed his support for “the profound educational reforms under way here in Venezuela under the leadership of President Chávez. We share the belief that education is the motor-force of revolution. . . . I look forward to seeing how you continue to overcome the failings of capitalist education as you seek to create something truly new and deeply humane.” Ayers concluded his speech by declaring that “Venezuela is poised to offer the world a new model of education—a humanizing and revolutionary model whose twin missions are enlightenment and liberation,” and then, as in days of old, raised his fist and chanted: “Viva Presidente Chávez! Viva la Revolucion Bolivariana! Hasta la Victoria Siempre!”

...

Meanwhile, in one of the Democratic primary debates, Obama said that Ayers was just “a guy I know in the neighborhood”—which certainly qualifies as one of the biggest fibs told by any of the candidates so far.

Is it too much to hope that one of the moderators of the two remaining debates will press Obama for a fuller accounting of his work with Bill Ayers on the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, and also ask Obama what he thinks of Ayers’s views on school reform? ..."

Most of us "aging boomers" were terrified by the Weather Underground at the time. How do you think Nixon won in 1972?

Whatever we did to "screw up our financial system" pales in comparison to what really screwed it up: the inflation that followed the oil embrago of 1973. Prices doubled 1973-76. It took until 1991 to squeeze inflation out of the system. The legacy? A Wall Street/MBA ascendancy that started to monetize industrial assets in 1978. Once they finished with industrial America in 2001, they turned to monetizing housing assets. If America had not been de-industrialized by all those MBAs, we would have a more diversified job base that did not depend on financial services, and, since 2001, housing.

Both monetization of assets trends were a legacy of wanting those double-digit returns on capital from the high-inflation 1973-76, high interest rate response 1977-91.

Rather than dwell on what Ayers did 40 years ago, I hope the media pivots now to what he tried and mostly failed at during those Annenberg Challenge Fund years. WHAT did the Annenberg Challenge Fund actually accomplish under Obama's leadership? And, the only reason Bill Ayers was allowed to re-invent himself as an "educator" is because his father was rich and well connected.

unless someone can connect these dots: Weather Undergroundound +LBJ begat Nixon, Nixon begat Carter, Carter begat Reagan, Reagan begat Perot, Perot begat Clinton, Clinton begat Bush43.

The irony of Drew Griffin's segment on AC360 was it's depth and superiority versus the piece by Tom Foreman, the CNN truth squad guy that was on an earlier CNN show same night.

Aging Boomers who remember the 1970's are McCain's best chance. I am not the only aging Boomer who blames the 'want-it-now' mentality of the 18-35 demographic for compunding our credit crisis. ACORN may be the root, but the expansion of debt since 1995 is the trunk of the tree that is bending right now.

GWood is dead on. Hatred of capitalism is at the root. The Left hates capitalism because it gives EVERYONE the OPPORTUNITY to be as wealthy as they are able and therefore they will not be dependent on the Left (read govenment) for their livelyhood. Power and control is what the 0 and his croniew are all about.

Capitalism is a hallmark of our American power. FREEDOM to succeed. Why do you think the terrorists hit the WORLD TRADE Towers?

And now, they are trying to take us down again....and our allies. Misery loves miserable company...

Times couldn't be more intense, as Rush just said!

Palin is so effective because she is fast and easy to understand. One clip in the Hannity show would do the same thing. If they would do an ad of someone in front of Hussein Obama's house and then point out Terrorist Ayers and Nation of Islam Farrakhan live down the block. The Neighborhood. McCain needs better ads. Hussein's are very good. Very. McCain's stink. They need to ask Palin if their ads are okay for the Joes. They are not.............spitting in the wind.

Obama lies about his "associations" because they are radical and he knows it. I ask myself are these people "associations" or "allies"? I say they are allies, they are kindred spirits, he chose them (as opposed to bumping into them), and they all have one thing in common, they do not like America and what we stand for. Obama is one of them, he is a covert actor. That is why he did not wear a flag is his lapel. I'll bet he never said "God Bless America" in his life. Listen to his words when he says them, it is more of an after thought, or a parrot. I know this is nit-picky but the Commander in Chief needs to believe in our fundamental goodness to lead. That person is not Obama.

I say they are allies, they are kindred spirits, he chose them (as opposed to bumping into them), and they all have one thing in common, they do not like America and what we stands for. Obama is one of them, he is a covert actor. That is why he did not wear a flag is his lapel. I’ll bet he never said “God Bless America” in his life. Listen to his words when he says them, it is more of an after thought, or a parrot. I know this is nit-picky but the Commander in Chief needs to believe in our fundamental goodness to lead. That person is not Obama.

Bobsunshine,

Actually it needs to an orchestrated attack which calls into question the junior senators character in terms of who he associates with and how he lies about it. Once they concept of Obama lying is established, then you can nail him on the financial crisis and how he lies about that too.

This narrative has to be built up block by block.

AJ;

I agree that the Ayers and Obama connection is very important, but I don't think the link to terrorist activities will resonate with alot of Americans.

What people today are caring about is the financial crisis and what caused it and what is next.

There is a DIRECT link to Ayers - Obama - Acorn - subprime loans - Fannie Mae. Over at National Review, Kutz has put together a good number of articles for the work he has done in the investigation of Ayers and Obama. In one report, Obama through Chicago Annenberg Challenge foundation, gave monies to ACORN to help them with their efforts to force banks and then Fannie Mae to give subprime mortgages to low income families.

Most Americans know that the subprime mortgages caused the problem. Now to link Obama and his activities to helping the problem shows he is not good for the country and the economy.

This Americans can relate to. Kurtz was just on Fox and explained it to everyone. My eyes opened wide when he made this link.

You add to the list of friends, Frank Davis, a communist, Wright, a Black Liberationist with a Marxist base, Rashidi, a member of the PLO, Al Mansoor, a Saudi Wahabbi, a roommate that he spent 7 weeks in Pakistan with, he campaigned with his cousin in Kenya who wants to bring Sharia law to Kenya, I say to myself these are interesting friends for such a young guy. We know nothing about his Columbia and Harvard days, not one friend has come forward.

Is Obama a lost soul in search of an identity or is Obama a Muslin who some want to propel into the Presidency, or is Obama just a radical, lost soul, who converted to radical Christianity, with a great speech writer, who can fire up large crowds with hope and change? The Democratic Party had their eye on Obama after his 2004 speech for Kerry. One speech they found their next leader. Why don't we know and why would our news agencies not want to know. Do 60's radicals really believe that this is the right guy to represent this country?
