Macker:

You did? Huh - I totally missed your link. And I never saw that article - I tend to avoid Newsbusters, since A) their site layout makes me nauseous, and B) I have a slight problem with their sense of "accuracy".

I guess I could argue semantics, since Pelosi only stated that she supported it herself, and didn't say anything about actually "pushing" for it. But eh - you're right, she's obviously got it somewhere on her To Do list. Why? I have no idea - but then, I have no idea why Pelosi does half the things she does.

I don't see much chance of it happening though, since Obama has come out pretty clearly against it:

"Sen. Obama does not support reimposing the Fairness Doctrine on broadcasters. He considers this debate to be a distraction from the conversation we should be having about opening up the airwaves and modern communications to as many diverse viewpoints as possible. That is why Sen. Obama supports media-ownership caps, network neutrality, public broadcasting, as well as increasing minority ownership of broadcasting and print outlets."

Sounds about right to me.

Guy,
You are the one with the tail between his legs.

You claimed no Dem has advocated for the "Fairness Doctrine" in four years. Then I quoted Pelosi, only six months ago, saying "it's still on the table."

Congratulations on knowing how to "move the goalposts".

You were kind of amusing for a while, but you've turned into quite the annoying blowhard. Is it alright if I ignore you for a bit?

kthxbye

Wow, check out the champions of chivalry.

"She may be incorrectly repeating an incorrect statement but her intent is not too [sic] lie, unlike Liberals who are born to it."

So, what was her intent in "incorrectly repeating an incorrect statement"? It couldn't possibly have been to spread a smear about Obama, right?

Terrye made a statement that was 100% indisputably false. I called her on it. She failed to respond, of course - because none of you do when I expose your bullshit and/or ignorance to the light.

If you all want to keep repeating Rush Limbaugh's talking points, feel free to do so - just don't have the audacity to act offended when I point out that you have no idea what you're talking about.

GuyF:

Obama was the primary sponsor of 152 bills and resolutions introduced in the last Congress.

You can find them yourself in the Library of Congress’ search engine (make sure you are looking through the 110th Congress, not the 110th):

http://thomas.loc.gov/

Care to retract?

Surely you jest. Tell you what, pick out the one signature bill of those 152 and tell us about it. It must be good. And tell us how many of those 152 actually passed and is now law, somewhere, anywhere? Did he actually vote for any of them or did he just vote present. Let's face facts, obama has never introduced any bill that got passed into law that does anything for anybody. If so, tell us about it. or just shut up.

Cut the crap guy I rarely agree with Terrye but she is not lying.
Stop the childish melodrama.

She may be incorrectly repeating an incorrect statement but her intent is not too lie, unlike Liberals who are born to it.

I read the list of Bills, I doubt he did any of them more likely his staff intent on growing the government.

Chicken shit bills.

Oh but I did not read them all, may be there is a good none in there or two?

Terrye:

I keep forgetting to respond to this quote from you:

"Obama did not come up with one single piece of legislation during his time in the Senate"

This is a complete and utter lie on your part.

Obama was the primary sponsor of 152 bills and resolutions introduced in the last Congress.

Dubya is one of if not my favorite president. Like Reagan he was a man who said what he meant and meant what he said.

Only by being as single-minded as he was about Iraq were we able to win that war. I do question his opponents patriotism as they were wishing for a defeat.

I have no truck or respect for them.

I hope guy is noting how a true man of love acts: He did not repay his enemies with what they did to him...remember all the trash and disarray, not to mention the stonewalling and delaying that the president encountered...even up to May, 01 he was trying to get his people confirmed. May '01 to September 11, 2001....4 months.

Thank you George W. Bush for showing the world what class and decency and honor are.

Guy:

You are a partisan, that is all. I keep hearing about how unprecedented Obama's support is. It is not unprecedented. Bush won two terms and I can remember when his approval rating was approaching 90. And believe it or not most Americans always want the new president to succeed because of what it means to the country if he fails.

So this is the worse recession since the 30's? That was not a recession back then, that was the Great Depression. My grandparents were Okies, they lost everything in the Dust Bowl and had to go pick fruit in California when my mother was just a little girl. There is no comparison. In fact the worse weather event in our history was not Katrina, it was the Dust Bowl.

But there was no CNN back then so I guess it does not count.

The unemployment rate is 7.2% right now. It averaged 8% from the late 70's to the mid 80's. As for "fixing" the economy, well until he stops acting some partisan parrot and claiming over and over again that it was deregulation that hurt the economy rather than Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac lending practices I doubt he will get anywhere.

After all Obama did not come up with one single piece of legislation during his time in the Senate, why should I believe he will wave some magic wand now? Democrats have been in control for years now and all they do is blame Bush and evade responsibility. Talk about turning a blind eye, where were they?

If Obama were President and Katrina had hit and FEMA reacted the same way, the press would make Obama look like a hero. They would make sure the locals got the blame and the Messiah got the credit. We would hear about the daring rescues off of rooftops and the great job the Guard did keeping things together until the feds got there. It would be inspirational butt kissing all around. Count on it.
