Tim Kaine Implodes
Welcome Conservative Commonwealth readers, in case you are not aware I hail from the great commonwealth as a native and still resident, and many in my family are active in the state GOP.
Tim Kaine is a goner in VA. He is losing the battle of endorsements to the point he has riled up a major Northern Virginia association to the point of all out revolt against him:
The Democrats (go check their blogs, or just look at their comments here at CC) are desperate and they are reeling. You can sense the dejection in their words. It’s a complete meltdown…and just wait to see the press tomorrow morning and hear the pathetic response Tim Kaine gave today to the death penalty questions.
The death penalty debacle is best represented by someone still sane at Redstate:
The Kilgore campaign has now publicly forced Kaine into a morally untenable position. “I believe the death penalty is murder, but I won’t do anything to stop those murders if I’m elected governor”.
For the complete list of endorsement Kilgore received recently check out our post here.
What a joke. I am still optimistic on a two-fer this year: VA and NJ going Rep.
UPDATE:
Just so folks do not have to go looking for the Kilgore ads pummeling Kaine in the death penalty, you can find them here.
I always love Right Wingers who want it both ways. I personally, do not believe in the current Death Penalty. However, I believe in a rule by law and the Death Penalty is the current law in many states. If in position of enforcing the law I am required to execute people, then that’s what I’ll do. Right Wingers, increasingly, have called for moral integrity to override the law. From breaking “customs” of the Senate and House to blackmail breakaway lawmakers to change their votes, to recommending aiming at the heads of law enforcement officers to avoid the bullet proof vests. If many Vietnam Vets, Iraqi Vets, Abortion rights people and others actually followed the Right Wing creed there would be another civil war here. So far, no one is gunning down CEO’s for stealing pension funds, Lawmakers who steal our taxes for personal gain, or Politicians who promise one thing on the stump and do a one eighty turn once elected. Thank the Lord. At least some of us are still sane.
